Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Howdy Hajani,
Congrats on a gr8 weigh in 2lbs is awesome!!
BEETS :puke: I wish I could eat healthy veggies like you, since my healthy way of eating I have managed to eat mixed veggies I haven't had yellow green beans before tried them and love them,I made veggies soup using veggies I thought I would never eat and liked them so maybe I should try to throw some beets in something and try them lol.
I hope you have a nice weekend,Tammy

Yay!!! Two pounds is awesome.

You will make your valentine goals. You are doing so wonderful. :coolgleamA:

I love beets especially that they are a little sweet. Yummy.

You rock girl. Keep it up.

I knew you would lose that weight once you got started back on your routine. You do so well when you get going, I'm jealous of your accomplishments so far. I have no doubt you'll be back to your goal weight and quickly. GREAT JOB SO FAR!! Your an inspiration!
Kim

Thanks Yarmiah, Tammy, Amanda, SweatPea and Kim!!! I appreciate the encouragement!!! You are all doing wonderful as well in the weight-loss department!!!

I started focusing on my protein intake again, kind of like a mini-bonus just for myself. Yesterday I had to supplement with powder just to reach 70 gr. I couldn't figure anything out and I only had about 100 cal to spare, so I just mixed frozen fruit, water and protein powder in my blender. It wasn't the most tastiest thing I ever had but not the worse either... LOL I have not found a protein powder that would NOT taste powdery once I mix it with something.

This morning I was 146.6!!! :svengo: Now, I did not get discouraged but checked on my salt intake and it was way over again yesterday now second day in a row, so I know it is extra water plus I am very close to ovulation which causes me to retain enormous amount of water as well.

Last night the ladies in the gym complimented on the fact that I am one of the few who actually works up a great sweat while exercising!! It helps that I drink over 90 oz fluid during the day before I get to the gym so I have something to sweat out. :smilielol5:

I am very focused again, worked on my food menu for the next week for hours yesterday trying to find a good balance of protein, fat , carbs while watching the amount of calories. It takes a lot of planning and is so time consuming. Trying not to repeat the same foods over and over because that makes me fall off the wagon easily.
The other night i made oatmeal cookies!! I tweaked and twisted the recipe until I got to 40 cal/cookie. Now they are not your average oatmeal cookies but satisfied my temporary weakness for my sweat tooth!!

Ok, I just had my breakfast, have to pick up the house a little bit and go on my way to the gym!!!

Have a great weekend all!!

I'm so glad I came in here and read your post. I am up a pound this morning as well. I know that the night before wasn't the greatest, but yesterday was oK. I'm thinking it's salty foods. I woke up with the driest mouth and I didn't get my water in yesterday.

Have a great weekend! You sound so positive lately, and I'm glad! (because it helps me too!) :p

Howdee lady!

I think the fiber thing will be harder than most realise in the challenge. If you are a fan of popcorn it backs a BIG fiber punch!

I am very focused again
-coincidentally, SO AM I! We run on the same circuitry I think! :smilielol5:

OK, so I had a great day!!! Cooked all kinds of dishes for the family and myself today. I was busy all day but not crazy busy, I was taking my time.
Went to the grocery shopping then to the gym where I worked out hard and burned 600 cals. It takes me over an hour hard work to burn that much.
Food was more then great today. I concentrated on high protein foods and I was not near as hungry as usually I am. I already had dinner and only up to 1220 cals for today. Planning to whip up a shake with some strawberries and yogurt I got today for night snack.

Tomorrow will be total chilling... MIL is watching DD and I already done the majority of my cooking today. Just watch a movie, take a nap I can't wait.. Of course I will still go to the gym in the morning.

Have a great Sunday!!

Hey hajni.. man i hate the weekends sometimes when we can't chat online. anyways.. sounds like you had a good day today and are looking forward to spending a little time relaxing before going back to work on monday.. man i wish i could say i could just veg out during the weekend but at last nope.. no chance of that happening unless mom or dh decides to watch alex for the day which i don't see happening while he's sick again.. stupid winter i hate it cause he and i both get sick tons of times. anyways.. school is getting so close. i have my orientation again on the 17th and pick up my school books then so its so real... yikes.. kinda scary.. well i gotta go but see you monday for sure.. talk to you then.

Hi Hajni,

Just had to come in and tell you that those protein pancakes were the best I've had. No gritty taste or anything. I've made some before that I just didn't think I would ever want to eat too often. But these are definitely ones to make again.

Ciao!

Do you make meals ahead?

Sounds like you had a good day.

Yes I do make meals ahead. I am just too busy during the week or I should say my priority is to get to the gym. I get home anywhere between 6.15-7.15pm on workdays after my gym run. By then it is too late to cook dinner especially since I like to cook from scratch and it takes time. DH and DD by then had to have dinner.
So I developed this Sunday cooking marathon and it worked for for years now. I make anywhere between 4-5 meals on Sunday (which will keep of course and great re-heated) and we are taking care of for the week. Of course there are simple things my DH can do during the week and he does cook some nights. We don't buy lunch so we take our food from home too which could be either home-cooked or frozen dinner types.
I don't think I would have time to cook dinner with being in the gym, then DD has to get a bath and be in bed by 8.00pm

Another great day!! Kept on track with food again, high in protein. Went to the gym in the morning, exericised 550 cals off in 1hr15min. Rest of the day was not as resting as I hoped as our dryer decided to give up on us, so we were fixing it for hours, then laundry had to be done and some cooking still as well.

Weight was still up this morning 146.2, hoping it will go down by Thursday, since I am working really hard in losing it instead of showing a water gain.

Have a great week everyone!!

I really am trying to keep up a positive attitude about this but my weight is still sporting 0.6 lb above my previous weigh-in. Meaning if I want to reach my 2 lb/week loss I am supposed to lose 2.6 lbs in the next 3 days..
I did my morning run for 26 min on the treadmill but I am afraid the boot-camp is out of the question tonight. I have my DH's car today for the insurance company to come and take a look at it, and I doubt he would get home with my car in time for making the class. It doesn't matter though since I will still make the gym, just probably miss my class.
Looking back my previous records, I had weeks like this where I was showing a gain till the last day and dropped like 1.8-1.6 lb overnight. I am hoping this is what will happen this week as well. If not I will be quite bummed out.
Gotta run.

I've heard of people cooking ahead of time like that. I was going to do it years ago, but it never panned out for me. :)

Anyway, don't get down. You are doing great. My weight isn't cooperating either, but hey, I'm feeling so much better. And I know something has got to give soon. KWIM?

Just keep on ... and you will get there. Plus don't forget you water!!

Hey Haj!

It is what it is.

Do you best, stay focused and stay the course, regardless of what the scale says. Hopefully it will have the numbers you desire, if no . . oh well . .you did your best and the scale will catch up!!

HI Jen and SweatPea!

You are both right. The scale will catch up and the weight is just a number right?
Anyway, weight is STILL up this morning, but as silly as it sounds I feel skinnier, I think my clothes fit better, my stomach definetely looks smaller in the mirror so hey...
Unfortunately I forgot to take measurements this time around when I started, I will this Thurs and go from there.
I DID make the gym last night. DH ended up not working because of the snow so he picked up DD and I ran home switched cars with him and off I went. Had a great time at the class, I even did 25 min elliptical before hand. Got home, ate a nice salad and it was almost bedtime. Crazy how the time flies during the week. But I don't mind have I gotten home regular time I would have just watched TV or something so might as well get the exercise done.
My anniversary is less then a week away. Last year on my anniversary I was 171.5 lbs, so 26.5 lbs lighter I am celebrating this year.:hurray:
We have nothing special planned, usually not making a big deal out of birthdays and anniversaries and such.

You are much lighter this year! You are doing awesome!

You have to at least go out for a nice dinner for your anniversary, it's a very special thing you know!

hmm not a bad idea, I have to talk it over with DH. I am planning to make some dessert for us on Sunday, something kind of diet, so it won't ruin my weight loss efforts.

Had a great time in the gym, I did not get home until 8 pm. I am tired now and still have a lot to do.
Will update tomorrow, hoping to report some loss soon.
