Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Howdy,Haj
Wow you did really good adding in SMALL goodies to
your cals,I think it takes more willpower to have a little something then say thats it in compares to just staying away from it all together.I am hoping to do that one day well I did sort of yesterday I had 2 tbsp of mack and cheese and 1 tbsp of mash taters that was hard but I had chicken and other healthy things I don't think I could of ate only 1/2 of my mother N laws cupcakes without it turning into 5 lol!
I hope you have a gr8 day Tammy

Hey Hajni, you did great today considering it was a bbq with all kinds of yummy treats there. I know i would have done way worse then you but then when it comes to deserts i hardly have any will power.. lol :) My family is big on baking more so then cooking full menu meals which is hard on the diet... I am trying to stray away from that little by little. So far so good on that part. I am planning my meals out for the rest of the week right now as I am not tired and alex went to bed early so i got some cleaning done and am going to get in some exercise but can't do cardio as alex is sleeping and it will wake him up.. Well see you online tomorrow hope you have a good day at work.

I am not a real social person so we hardly go to any party and such, it helps sticking to my goals. It was extremely hard yesterday seeing all those goodies.. I walked by them like 20 times. Now today I am very happy I had the strenght to say no as i saw a very nice number on the scale that pleased my eye.. LOL
I feel so committed to this, I really REALLY want to lose this weight.

Your doing awesome girl!!!You havent missed 1 step!Great job at the party.I am also finding it easy to not give into to temptaion when out at get togethers. I also have a thing that I do! I wear something that is tight fitting that will show a bulge if i eat that way I know better than to look a hot mess and eat something-LOL works for me!
I cant wait until our friend comes back from afgahnistan-we always go to the airbase with him and go shopping I will be able to get some great low calorie items and vegetarian type microwavealbe dishes for those lazy days.

Hey Hajni, Nice job on getting to your goal of burning 750 cals per day. I am hoping to be able to accomplish this goal for me as well now that I got an elliptical tonight I got it from walmart so i'm hoping it works. I got it based on looking at it and moving the pedals with my hands since i couldn't get up on it since its on a shelf and bolted down so you can't move it off to test them out. I paid a total of like 195 dollars but that includes a 2 year warrenty for it which isn't that bad considering i was going to be spending more then that for the other one that i was originally looking at. I just need to set it up now and test is out. hopefully it works great. I'll keep you updated as to how it works when i actually get to work out on it. But i told you that I would let you know what i ended up getting. see you tomorrow online.

Hi Heather,
Glad you found an elliptical. And good for you for the warranty, this way if something is problematic with it, you are covered. Let me know how you like it after it is all put together. I am thinking I might buy one around Christmas or early next year. I am trying to convince hubby to "give" me some space in a basement and finish it for a work-out room. We have a huge basement and it is all unfinished for now. The plan is to have a pool-table and kind of like a hang-out place down there and i think we can squeeze in a work-out space also.
OK Went alert :
I love hubby but he can drive me crazy with his thinking of everything must be to his liking in our house. Somehow all decorations are his, my stuff is in the attic and declared "junk" (by him.). He is constantly organizing and somehow his stuff takes more and more space up while I have to fight for a square inch. He won't let me touch the dishwasher because he thinks I don't know how to pack it, he re-organizes my stuff so when I need something I have to frantically look for it, I am constantly reprimanded by him like a 2 year old for leaving my sleepers around or a piece of paper....:argue: Geee I live here too!!! You would think it is better than having a slob for a husband but I am not so sure!! LOL
Ok went is over.
Anyway we are invited again for a party this Saturday. This is going to be more food and for a longer time since our friends from upstate are visiting and we have not seen them over 6 months. Do you think it would look silly if I packed my food and snacks? i think it would look strange, I don't know, I am afraid of being tempted. They usually are very good about thinking about us as far as vegetarian foods go... so we'll see.
ok, off to I go.
Have a great day everybody.

I would certainly think bringing your own snacks a good idea, even if its a "just in case needed". You could also bring you own healthy dish to contribute. Chewing gum helps me too.

As far as hubby, I have just the opposite problem- he is a BIG SLOB. he dosnt care that his clothes lay on the floor, that he leaves cans and wrappers at his computer desk, etc. He drives me nutz ! :flame:

Work was very tiring, busy and annoying today.
Did good on food and drank 4 x 32 oz. water again.

Breakfast: 1 c ff milk (90), 2 ww bread (80), 1 tbs choc. Syrup (10), 1 oz swiss cheese (60), coffee (50) = 290

Snack: 1 pear (100), 1 rice cake (50) = 150

Lunch: Lean Cuisine Cheese Ravioli (240), 1.5 c. broccoli (40), 1 c. strawberries (60), 1 jello pudding (60) = 400

Snack: 1 ww bread (40), 1 tbs p. butter (100), 1 tbs sgf jelly (10) = 150

Dinner:
1 c. vegetable soup (130), ½ c. ff cottage cheese (80), 1 pita bread (130), 1 c. strawberries (60), = 400

Dessert : 1 jello (10), 4 tbs ff whip cream (50) = 60

Total calories for the day : 1450

Exercise: 40 min. treadmill (350 cal), and will update tonight if I do something else. Update:: 35 min. turbo jam and 1 mile running burning 400 cal, total burnt by exercise today: 750

Calorie Deficit: 1100

ok, off to I go.
Have a great day everybody.

I guess the dishwasher scenario must play in every household! I sometimes don't think my dh knows how to load the dishwasher.

BTW, at first I didn't know what a WENT was. ;) I figured out it was a RANT. :) See I learn something new everyday!

Can you bring a vegetarian dish to the party on Sat.?

Ha-ha:jump: No wonder you did not know what went was: I spelled it how I say it LOL , I guess I meant vent.
So funny this came up... My accent is pretty much clear the only thing i still get teased aboout is I don't hear the difference between the v and w. So I say words that start with a v like these were starting with a w... Sometimes it gets so funny... LOL

Yeah, I will probably bring a dish on Sat. but you know there will be the sweets and sweets and the sweets that I absolutely love... I won't be stressing over it anymore, we'll see what happens.

It will be strange not to record my weigh tomorrow, since I switched my official weigh in days to match the Halloween challenge to Saturday.

Oh that is funny! I don't know why I didn't think Vent! It is hard when you learn a new language - in Spanish they can say b and v the same (interchange them.)

Well it sounds like you had a good exercise day - even though you didn't want to at first! (I read your post on the challenge thread.) You are like an exercise queen!

So if it wasn't for the Halloween challenge, today would have been my official weigh in day. It is 159.2 and I am not happy. All week long I saw 158.6, 158.4 etc on the scale, comes thurs. and now it is up? So I only lost 0.8 lb again in one week!! I am frustrated because I know how much I put into this. i should be losing anywhere from 1.4-2 lbs a week, based on my caloried calculations. And I am really sticking to my calories... so what is going on with my body????
I was so bent out of shape over this, I did not do my morning exercise, so now I have to make up for it tonight at boot-camp. And I eat ice-cream this morning, although it was a 100 cal ice-cream sandwich, but still.
I can't let this get me down so much every time, but this is why I gave up in a past so many times. I don't expect miracles, just to show the effect of my hard work...
Well, I just have to wait till Saturday to see if the scale will show different.
Oh, I hate that scale...

Awe, don't get down! It's a loss, a loss is a loss! And you are under 160! Woohoo!!!!

I agree with Sweatpea- dont let it get ya down! A loss is still a loss. Keep in mind that what you are doing in your good eating habits and exercise is GOOD for you, no matter what the scale says. Also, don't rely solely on the scale to measure your success- how do you feel in general (not including how you felt after steppin on the scale lol)? how are your clothes fitting? how much energy do you have? Keep with it and I'm sure the scale will catch up !:hug2:

Hey Haj,
WOW CONGRATS ON BREAKING 160!!!!
Lol@ went & vent  I needed that..Your doing great and
Saturday will be a breeze for ya.Hope you haver a gr8 day Tammy

WOW Hajni you are freaking unbelieveable!!!! Burning 750 calories a day is hard and your kicking ass doing it!
As for your husband being nit picky that must suck, mine is a slob who is trying to work on get a bit more neat-if that day every come....
Congrats on the loss! I know it sucks when its not as much as you wanted and was aiming for but at least you haven plateaued!!!!!
Wow in the 150's is a great accomplishment that's for sure! I would bring snacks to your friends that way you wont look wierd-I would think someone was a little strange if the brought little snack for themselves;)
Keep up the good work woman!!!

Thanks SweatPea, Yarmiah, Tammy and Rimay.!!
You are all right, I should be just focusing and looking ahead.
I am back to motivated again. I am going to kick a.. in boot-camp tonight!!
A loss is a loss plus we'll see what Saturday will bring. I am going to tackle the elliptical today before boot-camp and probably after too.
Maybe the closer I get to my goal, the slower it will come off. That's what I am thinking.
anyway I hope everybody is having a good day and many thanks for stopping by!!!
Hajni

PS: Rimay with your 5 km running, you are burning more calories than I can imagine girl!!!

Hey Hajni, Girl don't let that scale get you down at all. You Know you have told me that time and time again and I believe it now. Although the scale didn't move down for you as much as you like remember what we talked about in our convo the other day. anyways keep up the great work and you for sure kick a$$ in your workouts. I wish I had the determination to make sure I burned 750 cals a day.. I don't think other that one day when i did 60 minutes of cardio that I have burned over like 500 cals in a single day due to exercise.. keep it up. Talk to you soon girl. Keep your head up, your doing it and your under your pre-preggo weight which is an accomplishment is itself. Just think of how far you have come.

Thanks Heather, I really appreciate your support!! I think I would have fallen back to my old habits (going at it hard for like 3-4 weeks, than stop for 3-4 weeks and gain 1/2 the weight back ) without the support I am getting from you and everybody else on WLF. So yeah, I put today's number behind me and concentrate on Saturday and then the next week.
I know I can do it and I know I will do it.

Yeah.!!!
Hajn i
