Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Good for you with your running adn that scale girl!!!Im sure you will see below 148...

I need to borrow some of your determination and focus, LOL

The vegetarian meat-out last night was awesome! Plenty of good food, all vegan. I stayed away from potatoes, bread, pasta, rice dishes and just picked from dishes with vegetables. I had desserts too, skipped on the cheese cake, and had a fruit salad.
The speaker was very entertaining and informative. He was speaking about Health Food vs. healthy Food. Most of what he was talking about I already knew, watch the calories, fat calories, sodium and ingredients list.
Final realization : most of the food you eat should come from produce and almost nothing from processed foods. My husband wasn't aware of lot of things and he learned a lot, so we came home and he immediately started looking at the food labels, realizing that his favorite ketchup has 190mg sodium in 1 serving!! (1 tbs). I think he will pay attention from now on.
Interestingly the speaker specifically picked products that you buy at the health food store, which most people think: I can't go wrong after all it is a health food store. How wrong!!!! My husband was one of those people. Just because we bought crackers and chips and rice and etc.. in the health-food store he thought he was doing good, no matter how much I kept telling him to stop eating so much junk. (he is not overweight, but eats a lot of sugary and junk food).
Also I am going to try to cut a little more dairy out of my food. It is going to be hard as I like cheese, yogurts, ice creams. I already stopped drinking milk and exclusively drink almond milk. so I guess small steps.

Anyway I am sure I didn't overdo the food as I jumped on the scale this morning and it showed 147.6!!! I was shocked, of course I was hoping it would be under 148 but actually seeing the number made me very happy!!
I can really do this!!
I am almost back to my initial goal weight (145 lbs) which I maintained for over a year!!

Had a nice breakfast (homemade french toast and grapes) and I am going to run in the park today again, 3.6 miles. After that I am convince hubby to go take a walk with me, it is supposed to be 55 today!!

gotta go.

Did 4 miles run in 44 minutes, after that a 2 hr walk in the woods with hubby. Ok, NOW I am tired!!

Now just chilling out before I have to start getting ready for tomorrow's workday. Putting my food together, my gym bag, my clothes for the morning..etc.

success

Success is achieved by those who try, and keep trying, with a positive mental attitude!at least we are trying thats the most important part

Today was weigh-in day.
Big anticipation on my part... yesterday's number was great and I know I did good with food and exercised like a banshee.
So I jump on the scale and I couldn't believe my eyes : 148.6 !!!!!!! WTH?? 0.4 lbs lost? When I saw 147.6 yesterday????
Well, it was pretty bumming for about 1/2 hr and I decided the heck with it. I feel good, my clothes fit me better, the scale can go where the sun doesn't shine.

So I am over it. Today is a new day, plan is to hit the gym after work and I have my food planned for the rest of the week.

You have been dong so awesome:cool:I love:beating:read all your positivity and such and as far as staying true to your goal and meals and exercising you are rockin it girl:hug2:

Ya i agree the scale can go screw itself!!!

Thats so true. the scale can be good to us one day and suck the next. I say if your feeling better all around then screw the scale go with what feels good. Way to go still on staying true to your diet and such.

Thanks ladies for the encouragement.

I think I know why the scale was paying tricks on me. It seems my monthly visitor (which I didn't have since I lost the baby in January) reared its ugly head during today. So i guess I am carrying some extra water weight. WE'll see.

I did go to the gym, 40 min on the machines and 30 min on the bike. After coming home and quick dinner, I decided to cook something for my family as I am trying to be more health conscious. I am watching all the important things, enough protein, not much fat, not much sodium, lots of veggies and fruits.
So I threw a butternut squash and cauliflower soup together. We are running out of groceries but I had all the ingredients. It is still cooking and smells good!!.

I am going to run, have to still take a shower and put my daughter to bed.

Girl you are awesome! :smash: Just now jumping into this thread so I certainly can't read 68 pages but I love this post. I also saw you mention losing a baby in January. :( I am really sorry to hear that, breaks my heart every time I hear something like that. I am glad to see you are such a fighter and you have come so far! Almost 52 lbs lost and only 8 more to your goal!!! Man if that doesn't inspire people I don't know what does. Good for you and you just keep thinking this same way every time the scale is ignorant! ;) I always think, "ooh, you wants a fight eh? Bring it!" :boxing:

:D

HI!! Thanks for visiting my diary!!! It seems we both have lost around 52-53 lbs!! :cheers2: You must have done very well yourself!! Thank you for such a nice comment on my ramblings too.
I lost the weight by mostly being stubborn, just with everything in my life. I have a goal, I know I have what it takes to reach it so there is no other option but to get there!! And I won't let anybody or anything stop me!! Yeah, you can really tell I am stubborn. :hurray:

Tuesday:
Work was such a drag today. One of our worker got hurt, he is going to be okay but will be out till next Monday. Then our manufacturing facility has been down since last Wed. because of a machine's (a crucial one at that) motor burnt out. They got the motor back today and now they lost electricity and the whole building was down all day... and won't be operational till at least another day. Our orders are backing up and I am starting to get into panic mode. Anyway, that's work.

It was so nice today, sunny and around 55 F, I just went to the park and ran 4 miles. It felt very nice and relaxing.
Tomorrow is my BIL's birthday party (weight-loss effort watch out), but I already put my food together and will do what I did last week for the anniversary party. I planned my food in such way that I even have room for 1/2 c. of sugar free ice-cream so while everyone is eating dessert I don't have to just sit there and stare!! And since the party is in the afternoon, I will be doing my exercise in the morning, 45 min on the elliptical is the plan.
Thursday I might have to work at my second job again, so I think that is going to be my rest day for a week.

Have a harder time with food control now that my monthly friend is here, I felt famished all day. I ended up drinking so much tea (hot, unsweetened, caffeine free) that I think I drank my daily water allowance twice!! But I ended up sticking to my food plan and coming in at 1300 cals.

Okay, I have to go. Tomorrow is another day to lose another lb!!!:waving:

Your doing great. Keep it up and you'll be at your goal weight in no time. By the time summer rolls in you'll be able to sport a little hot bikini then your hubby will have to really watch out.. lol Anyways miss chatting with you but your work sounds extremely stressful. kinda like my life cept i don't work. Just have 2 little boys to deal with and then gotta figure out school too.

Scales can be such a pain as you know! It sounds like you are getting results elsewhere, and that matters more than the scale anyway!

Wednesday:
Today turned out to be my rest day, I had the alarm clock set for 5.00 am and when it went off I couldn't talk myself out of bed. All the things at work and then in my personal life just catching up to me.
Tomorrow is still up in the air if I have to go to my second job or not, so if I am not sure if I should work out in the morning yet.
Doing better with hunger control today, had a nice bowl of cereal for breakfast and it seemed to have helped.

Looked up all sorts of recipes last night and I am planning to make them next week, need to go grocery shopping this weekend.
Party is tonight, looking forward hanging out with everyone, not to the food-temptation though.

Thursday:
Unbelievable, the motor that got fixed for the equipment broke down again!! If this is not bad luck than nothing is!!
I didn't have to go to my second job so I went to the gym worked out on the machines for 30 minutes and then jumped on the elliptical for 25 min. I switched up the elliptical again, I put it on Mountain program. I couldn't wait for the 25 min to be over with. This really kicked my butt.

Right on with food, sticking to my menu. Have not cheated now since the beginning of the challenge, over 4.5 weeks. Never went over my 1300 cals, and exercised 6 out of the 7 days every week. I need to see results. I do feel the results, my muscles are tighter I am starting to lose the jiggly leg or arm feelings, my clothes fit nicer..etc.It would be nice to see on the scale though. I think I will by Monday when all this water weight will leave me.

I need to update the spreadsheet for the challenge and I am done for the night.

Friday:
I was going to run in the park after work but ended up going to the gym instead.(it was too windy outside). Did about 10-15 min strenght, mostly concentrating on my arms. Then I hopped on the bike, 45 minutes. I choose today a program called : strenght intervals. It was good, made me work hard.

Kept on track with calories, even managed to fit it a vitamuffin I just ordered online for 100 calories. It is like a dessert for me.

Told hubby to come up with some nice reward for me if I reach my goal weight. (given that I reach it relatively soon!!). He is thinking about it. Maybe a long weekend somewhere just him and I??? Hint. hint.. :)

Tomorrow's plan is run in the park, then dreaded grocery shopping then cooking for the week. I might fit in a play-date for my daughter in that. If not, then on Sunday.

Haha hajni... your hubby better watch out once you get to your goal.. if not before.. lol Hope you get to your goal soon. I know i can't wait till i get to my first mini goal. anyways.. keep up the great work.

Saturday:

Having a pretty good day today. Made nice breakfast for the family, then laundry, then cooked two main meals for the week. I also cleaned my car and went to the gym for 1 hr. Did about 15 min. arms and then 45 min. elliptical, this time on weight loss program.

Food is going to be around 1300 cals. Hubby and I are never made it to grocery shopping, so I am improvising with food. For lunch I just opened a can of beans, mushed them, put tomatoes, mustard, garlic powder, pepper and parsley in it. Then I put the paste onto two slices of bread and toasted it. It was excellent.

Tomorrow my friend and I going to the park and walk 8 miles, training for our 1/2 marathon walk in NYC in April. She doesn't run, so we just going to do my regular run route twice which will be exactly 8 miles, it will probably will take us 2 hours and we will burn lost of calories just by yapping all the way. :)
