Guideon's diary of change

Oh you bugger!! YOU BEAT MEEEEE. Right, game on, my friend.

(I'm actually really pleased for you and only slightly green with envy. You've worked hard xx)

Thanks, it's gonna be a quite bit warmer than it was the last few weeks so we'll so how that goes.
But it's mainly about having fun and making new friends. There are actually 5 teams with ppl from the forum participating, so that should be fun. There's gonna be somewhere between 30 and 50 "less socially adept" nerds (yes there're even some supporters coming as wel) at the race.
Good thing there's a social lubricant called alcohol :D

Back home after my first race.
Had a blast today, so much fun with total strangers (well they were strangers when the day started, no strangers at the end).
5k was a bit diffcult at the end, was quite a bit warmer today than the last few weeks, but still managed a good time of 22 min 36 sec.

Really had a blast.

Edit: and my team's total time on the marathon: 2 hours 54 minutes and 18 seconds

Thanks Sun!
So my family likes that I'm into running now, so they planned a race for me: they want me to the do a half marathon in march 2014. My sis plans to run it then as well, and my dad wil probably do a 10 k race at the same event.
All I could say was: challenge accepted!

My recovery week is over now, so tomorrow is the return of double-days :)
Jillian Michaels will be my trainer next 30 days in which I hope to shred some more weight (nudge nudge wink, get it? :D)

Morning work out (30 day shred level 1) was a breeze, after doing insanity for 4 months.
But still felt a good burn during ab routine.
I'm gonna wait with my run training until it cools off a bit, much to warm now.

Start Insanity, and then get back to 30 day shred, you'll see I'm right :D

Also I have to alter my running schedule... I'm progressing that well, this is not a challenging program. Did a what the program calls a basic run. Stuck to the time for warming up, running and cooling down and kept within the heart rate zones, and ran 3 km's more than the program thought I would. So yeah, thanks, but I'll try something else.

On a positive note, already planning the next race with my new found running buddies :)

My son's did p90x last summer as a prep for football. They were very ripped and in-shape. They added a bit of running to it. A secret dream of mine is to get into good enough shape where I might start the p90x myself. Right now I would last like 10 minutes. If I can knock off maybe 15 or 20 more lbs and keep my fitness improving I may give it a try. I figgure if I can do 50% of it at first and add as I improve it would be worthwhile.

I know how you feel, when I started my weight loss journey I thought p90x would be a great idea...
WRONG... lasted two minutes....
So I regrouped, and started P90, repeated it, then did a host of other programs (but never like any of them as much as I did the P90 program), then did P90M like three times, and then started P90X. I still couldn't do 1 stinking unassisted pull up. Now I can do like 10 of them without the chair for the first few pull up exercises in a P90X workout.
Perseverance and hard work is your investment, results will be the pay-off!

my family has been running for much longer than me, so they were both pretty proud and impressed with my time and a little bit envious at the same time, because they know I'm the fastest in the family now :)
