Group Project?

I was thinking about this as a read through the forum about how things sound like a broken record... SO... I was wondering if other people wanted to help out and as well as the moderators/admin of this forum allow us... I would like to propose coming up with a 'group' layout of things such as "weight loss", "gain muscle", "abs", etc... that covers what has to happen, myths etc... and then make them stickys, so they are at the top of the forum, and have a big READ HERE FIRST BEFORE POSTING, so then people can get the basic questions answered there, and then can post more specific questions... On top of that, anytime someone does ask a question, we can always just send them to the link of the thread they are talking about...

Any other thoughts about this :confused:
 
Dex that sounds like a great idea.. if ppl will read first before posting... thats the key ;) I don't know how much help i'd be but I will help out if you would like.
 
there are 3 threads in weight loss, bodybuilding and supplements that are supposed to be doing that, but they aren't.

and they are stickied.
 
I think people are going to ask regardless of the stickies because "their situation" is different. I know on MH they have put up stickies for everything and the only thing it has done is have people complain about all the stickies. But I would be all for it if it worked.
 
I will help out as much as possible.

It gets rather annoying when answering the same question 10 times. Even if people still ask when the stickies are up, all we have to do is refer them to the sticky instead of typing out the answer again, as Dex mentioned.......
 
Where should we post the useful info?

Maybe a Mod can create a new forum labled "For Sticky info" and we can post there. then they can determine whether or not the post is sticky material.

Just a thought.
 
I did notice the sticky ones before, but the problem is, there's too much reading :rolleyes: It would basically be designed as an easy 'template' to follow and then can modify, because like in the weight loss one, all it says is '500-1000calories less than your RMR/BMR'... well ya that helps, but what's my RMR/BMR, then i'd have to read down to find out 'oh, if i click that link, then i can do this'... and then read back up, 'oh, i got to do this'...

So I think if it was just laid out, step by step, little words as possible, people would be more likely to do it... and have one post, no one can add on to it, etc...
 
I posted some good info on Fat in the Men's nutrition section. It answers alot of questions people have concerning fat such as benefits, misconceptions, etc......
 
Yeah, I just started a thread in the personal training section for all of us to find the perfect workout to give Noobies.

Is there anyway that we could have a forum that is password protected? that way the personal trainers and more educated people can write up all the info we need without the others interpupting.

then when its all done one of the mods can edit and sticky the work to each forum.
