Grey Ghost Hunter's Diary

Didn't do much yesterday except for my usual run. Did better my time by 7 sec. I ran an 8:31 mile. I was going to also walk the timber last night to see if any shrooms have started poping, but the wife had other plans.

Besides my runs I'm going to start walking/hiking the timber each day hunting for mushrooms. Hopefully this will help give me a boost to my goal.

Next week is my half way point to my goal date, which is my birthday in July. I'm hoping that come Monday morning when I step on the scale it is going to read 186. Which is also the half way point to my weight goal. If I hit that I'll be estactic.

Worried about the weekend.

Well Friday is here. I weighed myself this morning and was at 187. Which is good, but the weekend is here, and I'm kinda dreading it. As much so, I have concidered digging myself in a hole and not coming out until Monday morning.

The reason behind all this? Well, Next week is my halfway point to both my goal date and goal weight. To keep on track with my goals I need to be 186 or below.

Lately for some reason when ever the weekend comes and goes and I go to weigh in on Monday morning. I typically am about 3 lbs more than what I was on Friday. Basicly weekends are killing me, and this weekend is going to be worse. The Archery Club that I am a member of is starting our outdoor 3D season this weekend and I have to work it. Well, at the shoot the only food to eat is burgers and dogs, and when you are sitting there at the shelter where the grill is going and loaded with said burgers and dogs it tends to make you want to dive in. This is only part of the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, after I get done at the club I am going to a friends house where we and several others will be burning fields. Do you know what happens when you put several guys together plus the addition of fire and a field? Answer: LOTS OF BEER. Plus afterwords there plans to be a BBQ.

This weekend is NOT going to be good for my will power. It is going to take every thing I've got and more to survive this weekend.

Wish me luck.

I feel your pain GGH!!! I am right around the same weight (188) and was really hoping to see 186 or lower on Monday, especially since I only maintained last week. Weekends are usually my 'good' days as I can exercise more and cook my own food throughout the day... but I've been faced with a lot of temptations this week, I don't know why. I haven't done anything bad, per se, but it scares me that I could.

Last time I lost weight I also started on Jan 1, and I quit at the end of April. I think I'm getting nervous that I might have a repeat performance, ya know?

We can do this- we can conquer the 180's just like we conquered the 190's. One day at a time. If you are faced with a lot of food and beer this weekend make a conscience effort to only consume half of what your stomach tells you to. That way you get to enjoy yourself, but you will only have half the calories as everyone else. Also, try eating less today in order to prepare for a higher calorie weekend, and maybe do a little extra cardio to offset some of the damage.

Good luck!

Oh I'm going to try. No dout about that. It's going to be murder. But were going to try.

For working at the shoot, I think I'm going to try and be the floater around the range and practice range. This way it will keep me moving and away from the grill. Also it will add a degree of exercising with me walking around the range all day.

As for the field burn and BBQ. That is going to be a crap shoot. It's going to be all me and my will power as to how much I will consume.

Well I survived the weekend.
I ran on Friday night and again bettered my time by 10 sec. I ran an 8:21 mile. Wasn't able to run during the weekend due to the weather and have to work at the range all weekend.

So with the 3D shoot and the cookout this weekend I think I did pretty good with avoiding alot of the bad stuff. On Sat. I only had a hotdog at the range. The cookout was a different story. By the time the night was over I had ate a hotdog, 2 porkchop sandwiches and had drank at least 6 beers. About the time I finished my 6th beer I realized I had better stop or I was going to pay dearly. On Sunday I figured that I had really better be strict due to what all I ate on Sat. So I didn't eat anything at all at the range and when I got home All I had was a couple of wraps.

So know it's Monday morning and time to step up on the scale.....

drum roll please ..........

187

Yep, I did it. I have finally offically broke 190. Talk about weight off my back. (punn intended) he he..

See, you got to enjoy the weekend AND the scale went down - AWESOME JOB! That is really great, I am very happy for you!

thanks DW.

Could of been better. I was hoping to get some running in during the weekend. But that didn't happen. Plus, I was hoping to weigh in at 186, but I'll take the 187.

I did go for a 2.25 mile walk during lunch today. Quite enjoyable except for when it started raining. Wasn't expecting that one. (mental note: check radar prior to lunch time walk. :smilielol5:)

Damn, I'm just full of fun and joy aren't I. :biggrinjester:

Went for an easy run last night. Didn't want to push it because the weather wasn't the best and I would of had to fight the wind. I did how ever run my mile in 8:52.

Went to try and go for another walk during lunch but the wind rain and the temp. told me other wise. Plus I didn't wear a jacket that would keep me warm enogh.

I'm hoping that the weather will calm down somewhat so maybe I could get out tonight after work.

So I'm sitting here at work when out of nowhere I get this serious craving for hotwings. I'm talk my mouth is water and I can almost smell them cravings. This sucks....:banghead:

Now to know me is to know that I LLLOOOVVVEEE!!!! hotwings. So since hotwings are not the best thing on a diet. I am going to try to find some sort of healthy alternative or way in making hotwings.

Any sugestions?

They did a healthy version on wings on the biggest loser this season. you should google the recipe for that, something like "biggest loser healthy wings."

So I was on my way home last night when I noticed a storm comming in. So I thought to myself if I get home fast enough I might be able to still get my run in. Well I made it home go changed and took off for my run. That is when I have probably done one of the STUPIDEST things I have ever done in my life.

So as I am getting ready to run the rain starts slowly. So I'm thinking, hell I can get my run done in plenty of time. Right? Well about 1/3 into my run the lightening start and the thunder and the next thing I know I'm running in a sever thunder storm with lightening all around me. So what do I do? Like an idiot instead of heading for cover and call the wife to come get me, I kept running (I don't like to quit half way thru something). HELLO STUPID.

Anyways I did finish my run and I survived the storm. I think the last time I ran in rain like that I was in the Army.

Well I didn't get any running in this weekend. I ended up spending the weekend working in the garden and am paying dearly for it now.

On Friday evening I sod cut the grass off the top and rolled them up.

Saturday I took said rolls of sod and distributed them around the yard in areas that needed grass or low areas needing filled. I did this using only a yard wagon.

Sunday I spent the morning racking and hoeing the stuff that I had missed or left behind.

By the time I got up this morning body was TOAST. And that bad part about the whole thing is I still need to till the damn thing. I couldn't do it yesterday because we had to go to a birthday party and by the time we got back home I could get to the garden because of the rain.

Well anyways, today was weigh in day and I weighed in at 188. After all that I gained a pounds.

The more I think about it. Even thou I really didn't stray from the diet this last weekend, I did eat several chocolates and as for meal I did eat alittle more than usual but nothing really against my diet except for the 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and KFC on Saturday night.

While working in the garden I did have a couple beers too. So I guess my gain you can say was kinda my fault.

Haven't done much exercising this week except for walking during my lunch hour and doing some mushrooming in the evening after work.

Have been sticking with the diet ok. Only problem is getting snack cravings around 8:00, like clock work. Funny thing is that I'm not hungry. I just get a craving for some sort of snack.

You should buy a healthy (but yummy) snack to have around 8:00. I like the no-sugar-added fudge popsicles! Only 40 cals.

Good job on keeping up with the diet this week!

Well it's another Friday, with the dredded weekend upon us, I weighed myself this morning to see that I am currently at 185. Which means I lost 3 pounds this week. Besides my diet, my only exersice has been a 2.25 mile walk during my lunch hours.

So I have come to the conclusion that if come Monday and I'm anything over 185 I'm going to consider moving my offical weigh in day to Friday, cause this weekends are KILLING ME.
