Good HIIT?

Would you agree that sprinting the straights and walking or jogging the corners on a track for 20 minutes is good HIIT. I started this last week as opposed to my normal 3 mile run, and it kicked my butt more than the 3 miles.
 
22 views so far, and no one can tell me whether or not this is HIIT, and if so is it good, bad, adequate or what?
