I decided to start a new thread because I feel like I need a fresh start. I weighed myself yesterday, and I weight even more than when I first came back onto this forum. I am now at 123lbs. My goal is 100 lbs. The cold weather and job hunting stress has really made me put on weight. I am 3 lbs away from being overweight.

Also, for anyone that has stopped by, I would highly recommend this documentary: " HUNGRY FOR CHANGE" - please do watch it if you can. It was very informative in terms of nutrition, especially for a weight-loss beginner, but I learnt some interesting facts as well and I have been on and off this forum for 5 years now. Very motivational and informative.

I signed up for a 8k run on April 6th. I have not started training yet but will get my act into gear this week.

Today I got rejected from 2 companies. I feel that it is in the way that I am interviewing.

it's good to see you back and not giving up :)

Trus- you are still on here, good to see you around!

Happy New Year to everyone!

This new year has been a bumpy start for me. My unemployment is at 8 months now and I can only hope that things get better going forward. It is kind of funny not knowing where life will take me in the next few months.

I wanted to share a recent happening. More as motivation for myself than anything. My bf's sister-in-law visited over the holidays. While she did not say anything to me, she did tell him that I had gained a lot of weight. He mentioned to her that I had been stressed with the job hunt. She said it was "unacceptable". As much as that hurts, she is right. I calculated how much I weighed the last time she saw me. I was 108 lbs in the summer of 2011- and today I weight 122 lbs. That is a 14 lb weight gain and on my small frame it's worse.

I have started to squeeze in a bit of exercise everyday and am trying to stay away from junk food. I think a little each day will help. Not to mention, I need to get in shape for an 8k in April!

Wish me luck everyone. Some days motivation is so hard to come by and some days it isn't.

Hope this year is good to everyone!

Day One

I weighed in at 122.4 lbs today.

My eats were not good- much improvement needed.

Walked 2.5 miles today. My run is about 5 miles. Need to build endurance. Tomorrow is a new day.

I did not weight myself today but I will be tracking calories and hope to get a walk/run in today.

Don't just hope, make it happen, get out there and do your walk/run !!
Yes, haha, *make* it happen.

I did a 2.5 mile walk three times during the week. I tried running and couldn't get past a mile. It was also very cold outside. My 8k is in April and it's 5 miles. I'm going to have to increase my endurance. Next week is a new week.

OK, I'm back! I've been doing miserably lately but I've been getting help- that's what you do when you start sinking, right? That and perseverance. Today I weighed in at 122.4lbs. My goal is to shed 22lbs. It seems do-able but it's been a challenge getting to the gym. I have an interview on Thursday and it's paralyzing me- I have a paralyzing fear of interviews.

I feel so conscious. I feel fat. The weight gain has not been good for me. Anyways, about a month to the race and kicking it into high-gear. I am working out with a friend for 4 days this week. Need to motivate myself to work out tomorrow and day after on my own. I can do this. I know I can.

Okay, so I have an 8k to run next week. I went to the mall today to buy pants- and I'm up two dress pant sizes to a size 9- I was a size 5 last year. That was a shock for me.

I'm up to 123.8lbs last I weighed.

I have to lose the 23-24 lbs.

My 8 k went well- 1 hour 1 min. A minute over my target. It was tough though.

I've decided to run a half-marathon- 21k- in Sept/Oct. I haven't started practicing yet- but I should. I really should.

My SW is 122 lbs. Lately I have been feeling down because I feel heartbroken and lonely. My life situation has changed so much since a couple of years ago. All my close friends have moved away. Went through another breakup- and even though it was mutual my heart hurts. Someone else that I like also recently decided to part ways with me. I can't seem to move on. I can't seem to move on from the person I like. And things are just so different now, that it's a bit difficult for me to cope. I feel like I've lost direction- lost sight of my future- and it's been affecting my motivation to exercise.

However, I don't want to give up. I've given myself a month (May) to really go at this weight-loss full force. I want to lose 20 lbs. I feel so frustrated with myself. I got to keep reminding myself why I will be putting myself through pain for the next month. I want to eat right and exercise more.

good work on the 8k and good luck with the half marathon.

as for the other stuff, you are tough, you will pull through the tough times and come out stronger on the other side.

Thanks Trus :)

So I'm back- my weight today was 122.8lbs.

But I've picked up the exercise recently- been running on and off. Tomorrow I'm doing hot yoga with a friend! Motivation has kicked in. I started this journey 6 or 7 years ago and I want to finish strong (and have a finish too!)

I haven't weighed myself today. My approach for this week is to work out the best I can and THEN weight myself. Man, I also realized how many diaries I have created- obviously creating a new diary each time hasn't had the motivational impact I desired :p

So I'm going to stick to this one! The last time I weighed myself (few days ago), I was at 122.2 - but I'm really scared to weigh myself at the moment. Anyways, my goal is exercising consistently for the next 4 days and THEN weighing myself: Wed Thurs Fri Sat. Next weigh-in will be on Sunday.

I'm having a bit of trouble making healthier food choices. I've been relatively good with the exercise- not good enough. Been getting 5k walks in on the days I don't feel like exercising. Not seeing any improvement in the ab area so far- but will work on this.

I have a trip planned for mid-August- so that gives me some motivation to look good in a dress!!

CW: 120 lbs

GW (end of week): 118 lbs

My goal for this week is 2lbs. Mini-steps. I was at 118 lbs last week but 4 days of bad eating did damage :(

Still standing at 120 lbs.

I started online dating recently- it's really not my cup of tea. Anyways, I have had a couple of rejections already (WTF?!). I'm so angry. If I'm being rejected for the way I look- well then that's just effin B.S. I was SO angry today- I hit the gym. Did 3 miles on the treadmill. I want to be able to get up to 5 miles.

Anyways, I'm SO angry that I've decided to keep myself accountable to exercise for the next 29 days straight. 5 days at the gym and 2 days of yoga. I have no other way to describe this- I'm just angry! Every single bf I've had has always commented on my weight and if boys are seriously going to pass me up b/c of my weight- well then. Grrrrrrrrrr

119.8 lbs

Went to the gym three days in a row- taking a break today and getting some work done- gym again tomorrow. Need to break the 119 lb mark and get into 118 lb zone. Sigh :( Why won't weight loss come easy to mmmmeeeee?

Happy New Year everyone!

This year has been really rough so far. I've had a massive fight with my sister, who has major anger management issues. I'm in a miserable job that isn't stable. And I need to fight a speeding ticket this year. Still single. Turning 30 this year. Have no property to my name.

In spite of it all, this year, as a New Year's resolution, I have chosen to fight. To move forward. To be happy. And to get there will take some work, and I am ready. I was watching a clip on YouTube today about self-confidence. Self-confidence is something that people can see. Lately, I haven't had it. The speaker said that self-confidence is something that needs to be worked towards- every time you push yourself out of your comfort zone, you take a step towards self-confidence. It's a continuous process. I really liked how he said self-confidence is not about positive affirmations. Positive affirmations only last with me so long. I need to take steps towards self-confidence this year. I need to step out of my comfort zone, experience some pain and ultimately get to a zone where I am happy.

Anyways, that was a long rant. My weight is 118.8 lbs this morning- 18 more lbs to go to hit goal weight.

At 119 lbs this morning- still have 19lbs to go. I've been controlling portions and calories for the most part. I ordered a treadmill- since going to the gym in -40 something celcius weather is SO unappealing. My windshield fluid froze on the highway- my gas cap froze- it's like what else is going to freeze- I want this brutal winter weather to END.

I signed up for free online self-confidence classes. Today I also made a list of 10 reasons why I'm awesome. I forgot to put down going from overweight to a normal BMI. Anyways, I'm trying my best to take things in stride, be the best I can be, be positive, be confident, be happy.

Oh, and my treadmill will be here next week- yayyy. Unless there's a shipping delay...but hopefully it will be here.
