My Journey to a Goal of 18% Body Fat

* Daily weigh-ins each morning w/ Tanita Body Composition Scale
* Weekly body measurements
* Monthly body photos
* Workouts = Cardio mostly, some toning
* Diet program = Accu Weight Loss "The Bead Diet" [Official site: beaddiet.com]

*Please note that there are many accuweight copy cat sites out there claiming they are the same program but the ONLY real site is the one I listed. THEY DO NOT ADVERTISE!

Tomorrow I start my new regimen in an attempt to get down to a healthy 18% body fat. I'm very excited and a little nervous. Hopefully this diary will get me to sticking it out. Welcome comments :waving:

Starting body measurements:

arms: 15.25
waist: 40.25
hips: 48.50
thighs: 30.00
calves: 17.00

BMI: 35.5

Which has me at OBESE!
How did i let this happen?? :banghead:

Although my diet doesn't begin until tomorrow, I've been working out the past 2 weeks. Destroying whatever calorie deficit I created by eating ... ALOT

Daily weigh-in (using Tanita Body Composition Scale):

Weight (lbs): 218.2
Body fat%: 43.5

Since starting the new diet i've been online and researching. It's basically how my time is spent now so i don't think about food obsessively. This is a great article which i may revert back to if/when i feel like stuffing my face:

The new program I'm doing totally eliminates sugar and starch all together which may be the secret why I'm not getting hungry. The first 10 days the body is supposedly detoxifying. But I have to say I do feel some (muscle? general body?) pain and serves as more evidence how dangerous some foods really are.

Since I haven't been really hungry i'm learning that alot of the times it's all mental or habitual hunger. It has to be considering I have enough energy fat stores to last me 166 days without food (yeah i did the math) 220-125=95 *3500=332500 /2000calories per day = 166.25 days

Shameful

You goals seem kind of steep to me.

A good rate of weight loss is generally considered to be 1% of your body weight per week. By June 23 you might instead want to shoot for a target of 210.

Just a thought.

the reason why they say that is because you want to limit the amount of muscle that you lose. The body will not just take away fat when being starved. It will also eliminate muscle. This can cause many problems. The more lean muscle you have the more calories you will burn through out the day.

There are many reasons but with your diet you will be see a lot of muscle loss.

you might have put this elsewhere but can you give us somemore info on yourself. Age? Why you want to lose so fast? Why you want to lose weight? What other methods have you tried? When it comes to losing weight, where do you fail?

Matt
