Go Healthy or Go Home! [Weight Loss Diary, Take 2]

I need to catch up on threads, but I thought I'd reply real quick. Thanks for your lovely posts to my thread!

@Krake, When I first went from 260 - 199 I noticed that my stomach, butt, and breasts went down a few sizes. Mainly my thighs and arms take their time. Overall, it really does seem to come off in really great areas. I'm lucky in that respect.

I also want to have a baby, so if I do ever need some work done, it will be well after that ^^.

I have to confess, I'm having a difficult time. I feel like I want to disappear from the forum again, but I'm not going to. I'm going to force myself past these feelings and keep going.

I've been eating bad. I did well, until Tuesday, and I ate McDonalds because I finally hit 269. I thought I deserved a "reward". Totally self-sabotage. Wednesday was better, but then Thursday came along and I was so hungry, so I convinced myself that going to Wendy's was a good thing. I ate over 1000 over my max calories. That was awful, but I told my boyfriend that so long as we didn't go out to eat on Friday it would be okay.

Friday comes and I get an anxiety attack. I had planned it all out, we would go to the movies, I'd eat a little popcorn, and then we would come home. I started having a weird emotional breakdown because I knew the mall would be busy, and I hate running late to movies, and I just freaked out...So we went for a drive, and we went to a quiet Chinese restaurant...I ended up eating WAY too much, over 5000 calories...

So, I feel bad, and tired, and grumpy. I want to lose weight but it feels like it's so hard right now. It's like, yeah, I got to 270 but that's not a big deal...Ugh.

My TOM never came. It was supposed to come 10 days ago, but nothing. I would usually get it every 26 days, but then it came later, once it was 34 days. It's never been 40 days, so I'm sketched out. Took 2 tests, neither positive.

I wouldn't be upset if I were pregnant, we were trying until December, and then I sort of gave up. Nothing was happening and I kept getting depressed when TOM would come. For it to happen now would be kind of F'ed up. I don't know what to think.

I'm going to wait until Thursday, give it another few days, and see what happens. If nothing, I might go see a doctor.

Sorry if TMI :( I'm just feeling really ranty today.

Oh, don't disappear again! That would be bad! That means that you gave up. We all have our bad days and sometimes we have some really bad days. Just have to pick yourself up and try again tomorrow. I know, easier said than done, but gotta try, right? I hope it will get better for you!

When things are crappy is when you need this place the most. Stick around and just focus on constant little improvements. Don't feel bad about posting your failures. It's all part of the journey.

You're not the only one who's struggling, which is why it is soo important to keep checking in here. To be reminded of that :) I'm in kind of a bad period myself, but we can't beat ourselves up over it. Just keep going! I believe in you : D

anyone can do what they set their mind at. keep your focus even if the temptations are brutal. keep your eyes focus on what your goal is, and when you look back after this, you will be so so so stoked!!!

Thanks, guys :)

On Sunday night I got my TOM, which was good, but sad. I'm sure I'll feel 10x better once I'm done with that. I caved to my emotions, had a bag of turtle chocolates, chips, and watched Walking Dead. I tend to use excuses to get what I want, which is completely unhealthy, but I'm sticking to it by never staying down. Today is a new day!

I need to increase my fiber, so I've gone grocery shopping for some essential things. I'm going to try oatmeal with chia seeds in the morning to give me a boost in the right direction.

I'm gonna force myself to do exercise before bed. I NEED to get back into it. I had a dream I ran a marathon, it felt so amazing, I want to be able to run like that. Someday I will!

I KNOW I'm gonna have a gain at my TOPS meeting tonight. It was bound to happen, considering how shitty I've been with my food. I'm gonna turn it around, I have to prove to myself that I can.

I had a gain at TOPS at 273.5 but today I weighed 270.8 so that was likely water weight. I'm gonna really buckle down and see how the next week pans out.

A few years ago when I felt most accomplished in my weight loss I had done a 30 day question game. I would answer a question a day, and it kept me really interested and active. Start
February 19th - May 10th

1. Write your current stats: height, current weight and goal weight. Why are you losing weight?

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 270.8
Goal: 140lb

I'm losing weight because I've never seen myself as beautiful. After being teased for being overweight for so long, as a child, even in my teens, I came to feel the way people labeled me. I felt fat. I've always felt fat and I wish that I could stop feeling that way. I know that I'll never be able to love myself until I get healthy and accomplish my goals. I want to have children, and I have a feeling that until I lose weight, it just won't happen. I also want to be healthy so I can BE with my children. There's so many good reasons to lose it :).

The chia seeds I've been eating are causing some discomfort, I may have to cut back. I also have flax seed I want to try. It's all in the name of science! Or health...lol.

2. Describe your dream/goal body.

The gap. You know the one I'm talking about. The little space that happens between your thighs even when they're touching. I want THAT. But I don't want that as much as I want the ability to run more than a block, or to sit down without seeing my big fat stomach. I want to feel small under a sweater, have people double check me because I've become "skinny". I want to be toned, trim, and conquer anything. That's my dream body.

I think the ? deal is an interesting way to stay motivated.

I wanted to mention that flax seed needs to be cracked or ground for you to get the nutrition from it. Chia is not that way though. Start with small amounts and increase gradually with anything that has a high fiber content so it doesn't wreck your digestion. Chia is higher fiber than flax seed so ground flax might be an easier addition at first.

Hey Loch!!!:) love to see that u are fighting through those bad/hard days...wish I was as strong as you!!! Keep going girly, you have motivated me yet again!

Also I am robbing those questions asap! V.interesting indeed:D

Yay, IP! You can do it! I'll root you on!

I'm happy to see others want to do the questions :). Sometimes just putting the thought of weight loss in our head at the start of the day when we come on here can help motivated us through the day.

3. Is your UGW in an unhealthy range of BMI?

I've used a few sites to determine my goal weight, because I've never been healthy enough to know what it is. One site says 130, another says 140-150. I decided that 140 is a good weight to shoot for, as I'm pretty tall. I'd be happy just to get to 199! I don't think I could ever go for an unhealthy weight. Yeah, I wanna be skinny, but not a bag of bones. I want to be healthy AND pretty. Curves are great too ;).

You can do it! :)
Just dont dissapear from the forums :( Its a great way to get motivated

Mind if I steal your question thing for my own diary? It seems so awesome, and motivational!

Thanks, Lil!

I don't plan on leaving. Last time I disappeared I gained 80lb!

Feel free to do the questions! I think it will be fun to learn about each other :)

Wooo I must have been retaining because the scale says 267 today! It also said 266.4 but I'm gonna stick with the 267 it gave me.

4. Have a vegan day today. No meat, no eggs, no dairy, no animal products whatsoever. Give it a try!

Hm, this may be difficult. My main meal is chicken, and I enjoy that meal very much. I may have to fail this one because I've never been good at giving up my meat! Instead, I will drink 2000ml of water today, as a challenge. I feel that I always struggle with my water intake and that is very important to master.

I dunno what's going on, but I'm 265.6, which is awesome. I know this is probably all from water weight, and I don't expect to lose weight like this all the time, but I'm still happy that I'm doing something right.

Last week at TOPS I weighed 273.5 so I'll probably be at LEAST 264 by Tuesday, making a 9lb loss. That will be a shocker! I'll prove that it really was just retention and I'm not a pig xD.

I'm so motivated to get this done! I want to order my halloween costume early. I always put it off until the last minuet, so by the time it's October there's no time to prepare. Now, I want to get it early and hang it on the wall. I've never been able to dress up as something cool, like Lightning from FF13. I love cosplay. So I really want to get to 160lb by October. That's 36 weeks of kicking some ass, but I'm not gonna give up!

5. What is your favorite healthy food?

I've never been a fan of "healthy" food. What is healthy food? Carrots, or whole wheat? Is it some whacky product like Goji berries? I have no clue. I do, however, know what bad food is, like deep fried potatoes and slices of pizza.

All that aside, I switched up my dinner and started using Quinoa. It was something I'd heard about, and after some research, I found it was a healthy option compared to pasta. I haven't had rice in ages, and I did like rice and pasta. So I started eating it and I've been really surprised. It's filling, as no flavor (so I can do anything to it) and it has a rice-like texture. So I'd have to say that Quinoa is my favorite healthy food.

6. What is your favorite unhealthy food?

Uggghhh it had to be this question. I LOVE poutine (fries, gravy, cheese). I also really like fries in general, but gravy makes it taste so good. There's over 1000 calories in poutine sometimes, but I could eat it every day. That's how I got so fat! I'm sure there will come a time where I can treat myself once a week, but until then, I'm saying NO to that many calories!
