Getting to my ideal weight

Welcome Aboard new friend! Are you a vegetarian for ethical or health reasons? Weight loss tips:

To lose weight PERMANENTLY you MUST have a concern for 3 elements:

1.Supportive Nutrition
2.Aerobic exercise
3.Resistance exercise

If any one of these 3 components is missing, or if you have them in the wrong oder you will be limited at best. Apply them correctly you become the sculptor and your body the clay.

Since you're doing "less exercise" does that exclude resistance?

Dear Fatburner..thanks for the post..I am veg because of health as well as ethical reasons. I try to get protein from lentils, soya, cottage cheese etc.

I have not been an exercise person..,,I have started recently..I started with very light exercises..now I have added resistance also.

Snacks: 1 cup milk, 3-4 bites of energy bar, 1 candy
Dinner: 2 wheat bread, lentils, carrot and peas, yogurt

Exercise
40 min walk
Exercise for abs..aim is to do 30 repreats tomm

Nothing unhealthy today..so maybe I can have one candy!

Sorry I haven't been around in awhile- but it looks like you're doing great! Sticking to a good diet and getting lots of exercising in!

How are you finding the exercise? What all are you doing with the abs and arm exercises?! It's great to hear that you're doing so well!! :)

And congrats on looking fabulous in the photo! It's so encouraging to see pictures of yourself and notice the change!! Yahoo!!

Yesterday I was too tired to post.

Breakfast: oatmeal
Lunch: 2 wheat bread, cottage cheese and peas, lentils, yogurt
Snacks: half glass milk, 1 energy bar, 1 piece of candy with haslenut, 10-12 chips (yaeah..was tired and not feeling well..so turned to comfort food..I was craving french fries or potato wedges, burgers etc..so tired hard to curtail myself)

Excercise
30 min walk
Climbed down and up the stairs/..4 floors
arm exercise...was not feeling well so no more exercise


Well after almost 2 months of healthy eating..I think my body is asking for a change in food..some new dishes..something different in breakfast etc..the thing is whatever healthy recipie I try to find..it has more sugar, carbs than what I am eating now..todays task is to find some new thing to cook!!!

Well I was trying to find something new to cook..but couldnt catch hold of something that was not high on sugar, carb etc...so I spent time finding new exercises

Abs exercise..40 repeats..one exercise I can only do 10,..and one exercise I have not even started!
15 min of badminton
stairs..up/down..4 floors
30 min of dance

I'm so impressed with your workouts! You're doing fantastic! How are you feeling!!

I think we all cheat! I know I do! Cheating can be good! If you deprive yourself too long, you might end up splurging and falling completely off the wagon! Or at least I know I worry about that! :)

But you're doing great!!

Dear Tik..great to hear from you..a big congrats on the inch loss...its awesoooommeeee!!!..super proud of you.

I have now set a target for weight loss..I want to be 55 kg by July 1...I have started a new diary..55kgs till July..to measure how I reach there.

okkkkk...after a long tong time I am back again to this fourum...its past mid september..my weight is 55 kg...56 at times. I have lost weight and become more confident and in control..then the weight loss got stuck...was 55-56 in July/Aug and Sept..now want to give a push again..want to reach 52 kg..hoping hoping hoping to see the weight go done the 55 kg mark.


Looking good, loosing weight has a great effect on what I frrl about my self and what others feel about me...people have different things tht make them happy about themselves..could be travel, going to parties, owning luxury cars..in my case i think i feel good when i look good. I feel so much lighter after loosing some weight..my life seems in control...it has been like a make over..I need more of this...want to loose just 3 more kgs to begin with.


Why is weight loss so tough now...i am 5 feet..so increasingly each kg is becoming more tough to loose. Also it seems as if my body has decided that 55kg is by ideal weight..if it goes below 55kg..i dun feel to well...also my exercise has reduced..i used to hv atleast 30 min walk..now its down to zero..food is in control;..so am back here..going to monitor what all i am eating n hw much i am exercising.

so day one of the new plan..and some good things and some wrong things done


breakfast" 2 cups milk with chocolate powder

Snack: 1 wheat bread, lentils

Lunch: 2 wheat bread, lentils, okra, yogurt

Snack: here it went wrong. had gone till the market and ended up hving potato dish (~300 cals) and candy

Dinner: yet to be done. it will be 2 wheat bread, lentils and the remaing okra


Exercise

noo exercise till now. What sud i do..sud i go for a walk now. letss see. i must do physical activity for 30 min today.
 
just stopping by to say..that i had a healthy dinner..one wheat bread (just one to mk up for the potato snack), lentils and okara.


Also went on a 30 min walk...yessss...thts the power of this forum..thank you for being there..i would hv just watched TV..but knowing tht I need to write it down later...i got up and went for a walk..what more?...i bought cottage cheese on my way back..this will eat tomm.

Breakfast: 2 cups of milk and choc flavour powder, few piece of apple

snack: one wheat bread, red beans, sauted cottage cheese and capsicum

Lunch: 2 wheat bread, red beans, cottage cheese n capsicum, one spoon yogurt

Snack: one guvava, few pieces of papaya, then felt really hundry had 8-10 roasted almonds, 3 plain buscuits, one chips pack of 88 cals

dinner: to be done, very hungry already it will be rice with red beans in gravy


Exercise: 30 min walk


i need to get some healthy snacking options..i am so hungry right now tht i want to hv pizza, chinese etc. will stick to rice.


the last 3 kgsss,....why cant you jus go away
 
people...its bad..i am 57 kg..2 kgs in one week..is tht even possible. i hate this...i am what i was 4 months ago...bad bad bad..very bad...i hv eaten really bad things last week....pizza, fried bread, choclate puddings. i was with family..and i let go..ate ate n ate..bad bad bad


today i am back home..and this is what i hv eaten


bk fast: milk with chocolate mix

snack: 3 chocolate cookies..i know thts the worst thing..but they were on the table and i had just one...and couldnt stop


so i hv to go back on a strict diet...nothing is achieved easy. so now..i will mk sure tht bad food groups are totally ouuuttttt.


i hv to go to a party today. plz help me to stay on track.
 
so my weight is down to 56 kg..lot of water weight i guess. yesterday..i skipped lunch after those 3 chocolate cookies. At the party I had


Diet pepsi, juice, a few pieces of cottage cheese, fried mushroom, 2 spoon rice and curry, one falafel, few potato fried..so I did portion control..big time. i didnt feel stuffed or guilty about eating.


today also diet is being watched...I will strat going to office in a few days. this will enable me to be more active than sit at home.

you know what? I am finally showing as normal weight in bmi..52.5 kg for 5 feet. Your support has been great..I have not been regualrly posting here..but the encouragement I got from this forum when I started out has been very valuable.. now eating right and exercising is a part of life.

Lunch: Veg subway without cheese and mayo

Snack: plan to hv milk with flavour

Dinner: plan to hv 2 wheat bread and lentils


Exercise: 20 min walk

I want to look toned: arms and abs need to be toned

I want to participate in great run (7 km)

I want to join gym/yoga.



How do I do this?


Walk at least 60 min each day

so i am bk again..after a long time..with the help of this fourm i started a weight loss journey..was able to come bk to normal bmi..i was 50 kg for 5 feet till about 6 weeks ago...then i had to go on an office trip...6 weeks of hotel food!!!!...i ate carefully,...very less chips, no cola etc..but all i got was pasta, breads, pizzza...i did hv salads n fruits tobalance it out...i was 54.6 kg when i weighed my self (it was a different weighing machine so i dont know if that was correct)...then i came back to a sound state of eating..i hv been eating fine for past 3 days and the weighing machine at home says 52.5 kg....


i want o be under 50 kg...i know you will think whats the great deal abt it..its just 2.5 kg...but the last few pounds are very difficult to loose..i was at 55 kg in july 2011..and could only loose a few kg till Jan this year....i am 5 feet...so I hv almost approached my ideal weight...any ways...the joy when you can fit in clothes..when u hv options to shop..when u feel energetic..when u can run around...its a different state of mind...i felt like a new person.....


so i want to be under 50 kg..i want to be fit..not be starving myself..or be weak...i want o be fit..there is just a 2 part program to reach this goal


Eating: i am going bk to healthy food..one i came near my ideal weight..i started eating frm outside..pastry/pizza, noodles etc..now no more..i am on a healthy plan. I dont hv non veg/eggs/colas/tea/coffee...but one thing i really want ot reduce from my diet is white flour..the one in pizza, pasta, noodels, breads etc...if somehow i can reduce it..it will help me a lot


Exercise: 30 min walk...and yes...I am going to start this...20 min run!!..I love to run...i never have..but I always want to...it seems impossible..but so was reducing 10-15 kg of weight...plz support me...i need to do this...i want to run



Todays diet


Bk: cold milk/coffee (there was no other flavouring agent..I hv got a new one now)/ one small spoon sugar

Lunch: 2 wheat bread, lentils, cauliflower, yogurt

Snack: 1 Apple, cold milk/coffee/one small spoon sugar

Dinner: 2 wheat bread, lentils, cauliflower, yougurt, 2 small spoons of ice cream


Excercise

30 min walk

Separately, I did maybe around 5-10 min of run in between 10 min of walk

I am back here...and first of all want to thank the forum and everyone who encouraged me to loose weight and to be fit...I am a new me...it has been 2 years since I joined this community...and I am 50 kg now,..and for my 5 feet height its ideal weight...

it seemed impossible a couple of years ago....I want to clarify to my self about how I beacome overweight and how i lost weight..its personal..but i need to confront my self..and for once be honest about this.

I was 50 kgs when i married..then it was heavy food, having meals outside. Also I changed jobs and the pressure was on me to be good at work so I could get promotions and move up the ranks...I ignored me...I filled up any free space in life with food...food was enjoyment,...pizzas, burgers, cakes...sunday was spent lazing around...there was zero exercise on week day, food was comfort...a way to run away from boredom...run away from lack of interest...run away from lack of hobby....within 3 years I was 61 kg

and then I got pregnant...in the first 6 months I didn't exercise much and wanted to have rice, icecreams and chocolates..but then slowly i wanted to exercise and i started walking...i was 71.5 kg when i delivered...i was very careful during the time of pregnancy (some of it was medical reasons and some was out of my own fear)....i didnt go out of the house much...not even to near by markets........

once i had the baby ...i wanted a new me...a new person...confident, happy, interesting and interested in this world...i was very careful of what i ate..banning junk form my life...food junk and mental junk and useless friends junk...i was just done with people judging me...I become 61 kg by just watching what i ate and loosing all the water weight of pregnancy...and then i joined this forum...

it seemed impossible at that point of time...it was way to much...I had already lost 10 kg and I was small frame...but i made it...each day counted...i wrote a food journal and i exercised...after some time it became a way of life

Weight doesnt just affect your health..it affects your mind...your belief in who you are and what you can achieve...are you good enough

With the weight lost I found a new me...eager to explore the world...to learn more..to devote some time on self...to love things and relationships that support for you.....


I still have goals..to maintain my weight and reduce a couple of more kgs...to exercise..build stamina and be fit....

I wish everyone on this forum all the best...the reason that you are here..it self means that you have started to value urself,,,,and thats enough to remove those stuborn kg and pounds....may health be with you. And thank you to all who supported me and were/are there for me in my health journey
