Getting to my ideal weight

Ok..here we start

I want to be a fit person. Not someone who is overweight and tired. I was my ideal weight once. It was a good feeling. Then I ate rubbish, atleast one meal a day from outside. Drank one soft drink a day. Munched on choclate and chips. I gained 10 kgs in 2.5-3 years. Now I want to reduce weight. Be my normal self. I found this website while googling and thought I should start a weight loss program.

My details
Height: 5 feet
Current Weight: 61 Kg
weight Goal 1: 55kg
Weight goal final: 50 kg

Diet: Vegetarian and non alcoholic
Exercise: Very very less

I aim to record what I have eaten and exercise I have done. My diet may same strange to some!..ok so lets begin!

Dinner: 2 wheat bread, chick peas, 2 spoons of rice

Starting a diary is fantastic!!

I love that you're a vegetarian! The more you exercise, the more you're going to want to focus on how you're getting protein into your diet!

And as for exercising! You're doing great so far! Remember, any little bit of movement helps!! Walking is a great form of exercise!!

There's a walkabout challenge on the community- you might want to think about participating in it! It's a great way to get encouragement to walk :)

Dear Tik...thanks for the encouragement!..yes getting protein is a challenge..I take dairy products, almonds, lentils and cereals,,but I need to increase protein. My doc suggested protein supplement called Protenix. I used up one whole box of it. The next box I got was of a different flavor and I didnt like it much. I will try getting the chocolate flavour tomm.

Breakfast: 1 glass milk, oatmeal
Lunch: 2 wheat break, capsicum and mushrooms
Snack: Almonds, 1 cup milk, papaya, half apple
Dinner: 2 wheat bread, lentils, fenugreek, left over capsicum and mushroom

I've just picked up some protein powder yesterday! It's egg based, and vanilla flavoured...I don't think it's going to be too appealing :D

I got the protein supplement today. Will start having it with milk. I also got a new track pants for walking..hope to use them soon (it has been raining here today).

I went to the doc today to learn exercises for the abdomen. As I am not a gym person, I plan to learn do at home exercises.

Do I see the weighing scale going down?..maybe..a little bit..I will check again and update.
 
That's great that you got some exercises from your doctor!

There's a lot of great weight/strength training you can do at home! And you don't need any equipment to do it either!!

40 min walk. I was at home so did 20 min walk twice..walked in the hallway and timed myself. I plan to increase it to 60 min walk starting March. So this week I will be doing 40-45 min of walk.

No internet connection for the last 2 days..so here are the details of past 2 days

I have started to keep a check on amount of water I am drinking. I think its too less. Today it was 0.75 liters. I will increase

from tomm. Atleast 1 liter per day is a must.

Today after a very very long time I went to the mall. And it must be the first time ever that I did not eat anything from there. I had lunch before going and came back and had oatmeal. The mall is so full of rubbish eats..I could see all so fat and unhealthy people eating even more unhealthy food..not long ago I was one of them!!!.

When one takes care of oneself..sometimes there is a guilty feeling.,..that you are ignoring others and spending too much time on yourself..I got his feeling today..but then I thought...people you care about me would like me to care about myself. There is nothing to be embarassed about if you are spending time on yourself..its better than doing nothing atall!!

light exercise: I dont get time to do twice a day..so I am increasing the exercise and do them only once a day.

Yesterday when I went to the mall...I happen to visit Reeboks showroom. With all sports things around me..I wanted to be fit and healthy...not flabby and lazy. I wonder what was I thinking when I was eating chocolates, pasteries, icecream sunday, burgers etc??..why I couldnt make smart food choices then?. I think I ate because it gave me comfort and I had nothing else to do. Filling your life withthings do..being motivated and taking care of myself is what I need to do..Better late than never..so its good I have realised it now!!

As on Feb end the weight is 60 kg. So 1 kg lost since start of diary. The target for march end is to lose atleast 1 kg and be under 59 kg.
 
Congrats on your loss! That's fantastic! You're doing all the right things to see your goals!

Isn't it weird looking back and seeing what you did? I think back and I actually get embarrassed! But we've made a change, and we're sticking to it!!

You're doing a great job at controlling yourself! PLaces like the mall are hard to leave without some kind of unhealthy treat! So good for you!!!

I have reviewed what I have done in Feb and it seems I cannot cut back more on diet..I cannot reduce more intake else I feel too unwell. My aim is to continue to restrict food from outside, sugar, carb and oil.

But I can certainly increase exercise. Apart from abs I want to tone arms. I am too shy to wear dresses with short sleves or sleveless dresses...well I have never worn a cut sleve dress. I want to be more confident about my arms.

So for March the aim is to

60 min walk each day
Light exercise for abs:(20 repeats per exercise)
Tone arms: Got new exercises from you tube. Look simple do at home.
Learn exercises for shoulders
