Getting There

I have been losing weight since the beginning of the year. I started at 270 lbs which is the highest I have been or ever hope to be.

As of this week I am down to 205 lbs. Its been about 10 years since I have been down to my current weight. I have about 22 lbs to go for my goal weight. Hopefully a little more hard work and not too many lapses and I will get there before the end of the year.

I had two major factors i guess. The first was my eating. I cut out all fastfood and pretty much everything fried. I started eating more fruits and vegetables along with smaller portion sizes. I started the whole calorie counting, and I was suprised at how much I was actually taking in. I now check everything before I eat it.

I started with walking everyday, which has now progressed into running/jogging every other day and lifting weights and walking on the following day. I started running 5k's, it was very useful in keeping me motivated. I was able to set a goal and reach it, and since then I keep setting new goals with each race. (so far I have dropped 10 mins off my first 5k time).
