Getting bigger (something new huh? haha)

Okayyy well as i explained in a previous thread i wanted to gain the weight i lost (because i was sick) back.
Thing is though, its not even weight that i lost alot of. Cuz now im 120lbs and i was 125lbs before. But it looks like sucha HUGE difference because my figure changed alot. I lost most of hte weight in my legs, so i know to do alot of lunges and glute excersizes. as for my upper body...i was never that big to begin with but i still lost weight there making me look abit body (gross) So any suggestions on what areas 2 work out there? (i was thinking doing strengthening ex. for the back).
also to speed up the process i would like to take a protein drink, when would be the best time to take it?

Hello,

Are you male or female?

To gain muscle, you need to participate in a full body strength training program and have a caloric surplus. Although the caloric surplus should be a surplus of healthy foods (not cookies and cake...lol).

Protein drinks are one way of going about this. Actually it is a good way of going about this. The protein drink will provide the protein for muscle to grow and repair and also provide high quality calories.

Your cardio should probably be kept to a minimum at first. It is good to have some cardio, but low intensity would be my advice.

I am guessing female cause of where this was posted but I'm in agreement with Lynn here. Go for 10-15% over maintenence level on calories.
