I've been sleeping a lot lately. When I say lately I mean the past week. College is kicking my ass. It's my first semester back in three years. I'm up late doing homework constantly, and watching Grey's Anatomy and Dexter.
Today, I didn't wake up until almost 4PM. I went to bed at 4AM, so really, twelve hours of sleep isn't horrible, but I don't like sleeping in that late.
I went to the grocery store today on foot, and got some food.
-Lemon Pepper Rotisserie chicken (Those of you that have followed me since the beginning know how much I LOVE those)
-bananas
-strawberries
-carrots
-Celery
-Broccoli
-grapes
-raspberry tea
-eggs

I also bought some protein powder and turkey burgers last week. so I 'm really trying to up the protein intake. It cuts the calories and ups the energy.
I think that my biggest fault right now is eating late at night.
What's a good rule for that? A certain cut off time where you eat nothing? or a cut off time where you can only eat vegetables/fruits afterwards? What works for you guys?

I will keep you updated. I've got a huge math test to study for and a practice test to complete tonight.
I have realized, that when I throw myself into my homework and studying, as long as I stay away from the junk food, I do well. The key is grabbing something healthy when I get hungry instead of just grabbing the quickest thing. I do not find myself thinking constantly of the things I cannot have. I just find myself thinking that I'm hungry and then grabbing something.
Ah well, progress is progress.

It's a little bit of everything. soemtimes I'm hungry, sometimes its cravings. It's hardly ever boredom. I've always got plenty to do. If I do get bored, I just read my health book usually. :)
 
I always eat late, or at least get the cravings. I try and make sure its something with hi protein and low fat that helps my body when I sleep. If I sleep.
 
I was up until six this morning. I got up at three. I need to get myself on a schedule.
I had breakfast at 330PM, nice right?
-slice of turkey
-egg
-2 oz cheese
-.5 L water

I'm going to finish studying for my Math test tonight, and I'll probably have some chicken and broccoli before I go. I'm trying to keep the carbs lower than the protein, and I'm drinking lots of water.
 
6 a.m. ? wow, thats borderline nocternal ! Is that a normal schedule for you ? It would be great for me cuz i love those oddball movies that come on at like 3am.
But ya, the lower carb and higher protein is a good idea especially on a schedule like that. Johnny

I don't really have a schedule. . On days that I have to work at 10am i go to bed at 2am. i can function on eight hours of sleep, I just prefer to have more. Plus my dr has me on narcotics for my headache which doesnt help matters much. That's one of the reasons that I'm readopting health. I don't like having to take a pill every day to stop my head from hurting and be able to sleep. Plus its college life you know. I am NEVER done studying.
 
What did I learn my first semester of college?

Avoid the school cafeteria at all costs. Eating anything from it makes you feel like crap.
I've been behaving for the most part. Not always willingly. My body doesn't tolerate the grease anymore. So even when I do try to take a shortcut and eat some crap from a fast food restaurant or the cafeteria, it's rejected, and in turn, I feel like hell for the rest of the day. So, I adopted non greasy options like salad and chicken.
Christmas wasn't so great this year. I got sick, which flared up my asthma and spent the 22nd through the 25th in the hospital....just like last year. But, I'm out now, coughing up phlegm and feeling a lot better.
I quit my job because it was stressing me out, and am focusing on health and school for the next coming year.
I'm making my chicken and rice soup right now, plus I'll make some spare rice to go with the rotisserie chicken and veggies I bought at the grocery store. Also making some teriayaki chicken from a recipe I found. I'm really starting to enjoy cooking again, and absolutely hating spending money at fast food places. The boyfriend and I still go out for an occasional breakfast at Denny's, but at least that's real food.
How is everyone? I'll do my "New years" stats, measurements, etc tonight and post those with my food log.
Trying to work out from home and once the semester starts, I've got a health class that I'm doing in the gym. I switched my resolution from "Lose weight" to "get healthy".
I may lose weight eating nothing but sweethearts and diet pepsi, but I want the health.

Losing weight and getting healthy go hand in hand as you know. While you don't really need to work out to lose weight, it does help convince your body to burn more fat and less muscle when it goes for fuel. Sorry to hear your Christmas was a bust, but glad to see you back around again.

Starting over.

Tomorrow is a big day. Tomorrow is a new beginning. I have an appointment for orientation at the fitness center at school. I will choose and instructor/trainer and pick which classes I'd like to take part in, as well as take a tour around the facility. I'm really exited to get started again, and who knows, maybe the grade will keep me motivated this time. :)

I started my diet today and am planning on doing some core work before bed. In the morning, I will probably wake up a little early and do a pilates video before Mike comes home from work.I guess that's news! He didn't have a job for like a year and I'm sure my regulars remember me talking about that.

This is my total at 9PM. However, I don't go to bed until late so I'll probably have another snack and some peanut butter to bring me up to 1200 for the day :) I'm aiming for somewhere between 1200-1600 calories per day.
 
I'm having an off day. My appointment at the fitness center got switched to tomorrow. I answered the phone when they called which automatically turned off my alarm on my phone, so instead of getting up at 9am, I got up 2pm. Horrible, right? Instead of waking up early like I wanted, having a protein shake, and starting my day with a morning workout of pilates and core work, I had chips and queso (a small portion, but I'm still disappointed) and was so lazy that I ended up going out to pick up a 2000 calorie (at least) meal at Panda Express for dinner. I should have cooked chicken and rice at home and it would have been a lot better for me and my stomach wouldn't hurt. I haven't had any water today, so I'm drinking three bottles before bed, and tomorrow WILL BE BETTER.
I'll get up at nine, have a smoothie, do some pilates or walk the dogs or something, do some homeowrk, and then go to the gym. I won't have days like today anymore.

An update on my life perhaps? I don't remember how much of this I've already disclosed, so sorry for any repeats.

I got sick over Christmas, just like last year, and was in the hospital. I was supposed to work Christmas day at blockbuster, but obv couldn't because I was a little preoccupied. I called my boss and she told me to deal with it myself and that it was my "f**ing problem" so I quit. How could I not? One of the reasons I was so sick was because of Blockbuster. I was being overworked, and overstressed. I mean when they would call me to work an extra shift and I'd say 'No" because I had to study, they'd get pissed at me like I had been scheduled to work. So, I was just done. Now I'm a full time student, getting VA benefits because my Daddy is a 100% disabled veteran (Not as bad as it sounds) and financial aid checks. I'm averaging at least 1000/month and have no need to work. Due to all the extra time I have on my hands, I've been taking up art again; painting and knitting mostly. I may start taking up working out twice per day again as I did right after I graduated high school. I felt great at that time in my life,and would love to have it back. I guess that's it :)
Tips for staying motivated?!
 
I wouldn't worry about it - it is just one day after all. The fact that you overslept by so much says to me you really needed the sleep, so I wouldn't worry about it. As for motivation you should know the usual stuff by now (healthier/hotter body etc) and you also should know what to do. The question is why aren't you doing it?
 
I finally got back into the gym and I'm really happy about it. I can see now just how far out of shape I am :( I did the stationary bike for 30 minutes at level 3 abd it was difficult. That used to be myu cool down. Oh well. It only goes up hill from here.

Remember that asshole I was dating for like three years? The one that A LOT of you told me to get rid of a long time ago? Well I finally did, and life has gotten a lot better :D
I went through quite the rough patch when it first happened, and my life consisted of my being curled up in the fetal position for 23 hours per day, and the other hour was spent with me eating taco bell. I'm glad I got out of that funk. Now I'm just doing me.
I've recently gone back to the gym..goin on day number four now :) 2 hours per day, and not eating junk! My diet will improve incredibly this weekend when I get paid and go grocery shopping.
Here's my log for the past two days
Yesterday;
Food:
-activia yogurt
-pineapple
-slice of bacon
-two slices pb toast
-1/2 cup chilli
-1 cup popcorn
-1 oz cheese

Exercise;
2 hours cardio :D

Today;
Food:
-1 slice bacon
-5 strawberries
-acvtivia yogurt
-apple juice
-2 slices pb toast
-1 chicken breast; no skin
-1 flour tortilla
-salad with very light ranch
-1oz cheese

workout;
1.5 hours cardio
20mins caslisthenics

Welcome back - looks like you're back on straight and narrow again.

sure am :) I went for a short time yesterday, and took the day off today. depending on what time the bestie wants to hang out, I'll probably miss tomorrow, but be back on sunday. Monday at the latest :)
 
The past two days...

Yesterday;
This was my off day. I slept until 4pm because I was up all night cramming for a marine bio test and forgot to eat breakfast. I went and took my test, which a lot of people said was super hard, and ended up getting a C. Normally I'd be pissed but this semester has been psychological hell; what with the break up and everything else. So I take the C and I'm content. So food wasn't great, but it's just one day.

I snacked on pringles and candy. IKR?!

Exercise;
Didn't want to go but I couldn't just NOT go.
I was there for twenty minutes on the tread.

TODAY;
another off day. I need to be done with these off days.

chips/salsa
two pieces cheese crisp
all of those were incredibly small portions

Exercise; skipped the gym. I'm probably going to do a workout video, at least twenty minutes before I go to bed.
I feel like **** any day I don't exercise. Seriously.

Tomorrow is bestie day if we don't reschedule.
I seriously cannot skip the gym again. I need gym.
