Get Fit or Die Tryin'...

Haha you are just like me.

Oatmeal breakfast...
and can't do more than 5 minutes on the bike cause I get sooooo bored.

I've decided that I don't really like oatmeal that much, but it is a sufficient breakfast...my Mom used to make it for me every morning when I was in high school and I was thin then, so I figured maybe it'll work some magic now.

The bike is so ridiculously boring. I normally can last for 15 minutes tops, but for some reason the screen wouldn't turn on, even after I unplugged it and restarted it, so I couldn't see how far I was going. I figured 5 minutes a mile, but since I couldn't tell where I was on the hill (I do the hill intervals), how far I went, or how many calories I burned, I gave it up. Then since I was off in space, being bored and not paying attention, I whacked my knee and gave it a nasty bruise. Dumb bike.

Glad to hear that today was a much better day than yesterday.
I agree with you on the sweet/salty thing. I generally do that as well.
This month though I am going to be better prepared in that I will make sure there are plenty of crunchy (lightly salted) things to munch on as well as lightly sweetened yummies too.
I don't eat candy anymore, gave that up when I started the journey nearly 2 years ago, so tend to gravitate towards doughnuts and the like for the sweet stuff.
As for salty things I have been at this long enough now that most anything with too much salt just doesn't taste good anymore. So I can get away with just putting extra salt on my non-salted food.

I don't know how you managed to stay on the bike for 5 minutes when it wasn't working! LOL
The first treadmill that I used today annoyed me 'cuz the screen was all wacky. I had to move right away.
Sorry to hear about the big bruise. :(
Have a great evening.

I have days where I am never satisfied.

I eat something very sweet, then need something very salty, then need something sweet, and the cycle continues.

I've had days where I've probably eaten close to 5000 calories trying to satisfy my stupid salty/sweet cravings.

God, I'm awful.

Been there. Done that.
It was soooo bad once (back before I realized just how overweight I was)
that I would actually eat frosting right from the can and then swig pickle juice!
I know disgusting, hahaha
At least I can say I will never ever do that again!!!

i've definitely ate frosting out of the container before...or mixed up the brownie mix to make brownies, and just ate the batter. now that's real good for me! haha

i think the bagel crisps took care of salty today...although i would've loved to eat an entire bag of tortilla chips with salsa! i normally crave sweet right after dinner (cause it's dessert time), but salty before bed (probably cause i'm curled up watching tv and salty snacks just go with that).

my mom has a hidden bag of candy and she said she's gonna give me one thing out of it and give to me to take care of my sweet craving, then i'm done for today, since i don't eat after 8.

Wednesday, April 15th.

Breakfast:
Oatmeal (160 calories)
Lunch:
Yogurt (100 calories)
Dinner:
Primanti's chicken salad, Yuengling draft ( ?? calories)
Snack:
Pizza rolls, one mini donut (~200 calories)

I went to the gym this morning and did legs/triceps, a bit of abs, and walked/ran 2 miles. I'm having an extreme fat day, ughh.

That damn Primanti's salad had french fries on it, so it was bad for me, otherwise it would've been alright.

Fat days SUCK!!! :banghead:
~~~~
Try eating a 100 cal bag of kettle corn flavored popcorn at night.
Heck at 100 cals, eat two of 'em! haha
It will for sure hit both the sweet and the salty.
That's what works for me now. :drool5:
Great job getting to the gym, even with feeling all UGGG.
Thursday, April 16th.
Breakfast:
Oatmeal, 3 mini donuts (340 calories)
Lunch:
Cottage cheese, ham, rice cakes (240 calories)
Dinner:
Buffalo chicken salad (~550 calories)
Snack:
Hot fudge sundae ( ?? calories)
I haven't made it to the gym yet today. I've been cleaning and doing laundry all morning and still have some left to do...gotta get it all in today because I have work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from like 11-7. I want to get to the gym in the morning before work, then relax after work, so I'm just gonna get it all done now. I think I'm gonna head to the gym around two because I can't go tonight...hair appointment, FINALLY--I cannot stand seeing my natural color, it's such an odd color. Back to cleaning, woohoo!
I WAS going to skip the gym, but I ended up going at 2 because I was mad at myself for eating those stupid mini powdered donuts, which are such a waste of calories. I ran/walked on the treadmill for 4 miles and it said I burned 525 calories. I'm not sure if that's correct, but I was hoping. I only ran for like a mile because I forgot to wear pants with a drawstring, so my pants were falling down and it was too difficult to run and hold my pants up at the same time. I walked at an incline of 12, 10, or 8%, so I could've burned that much. I feel better now that I did that.
Now, hair appointment then salad!
Friday, April 17th.
Breakfast:
Oatmeal (130 calories)
I went to the gym this morning...did a little bit of abs, ran 2 miles, and lifted chest/shoulders. I was only there for about an hour cause I have work at 11, but it's better than nothing. Packed my lunch for work...turkey/cheese sandwich on wheat bread. That's probably about 300 calories, I'd assume, because of the cheese. I'll probably add mustard at work. I wanted to put some lettuce and tomato on it, but we're out, damnit. I'll probably take an orange and banana too.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Laughing at you trying to hold your pants up while running!
Mine felt like that the other day but I think mine won't be falling down anywhere. The shelf is sure to hold 'em up! hahaha
Well I obviously fell off the diary bandwagon from Friday until now. That's what work does to me. I barely have any time to do anything, including exercise. I went to the gym Friday morning before work, got called into work early Saturday morning before I could even get my exercise in, and accidentally slept in Sunday morning so I didn't get to run before work (gym's closed Sunday mornings, so I just run outside). I was trying to recall what I even ate this weekend...it's pretty bad that I can't even think back until Friday...if my memory is this bad when I'm 23, I don't wanna live til I'm 80 cause I won't remember a damn thing.
Anyhow, out of curiosity, I weighed myself yesterday. I weigh 130 lbs! What the hell? It seems as though when I try to write down what I eat, exercise, and listen to people when they say to eat more than 3 meals a day, I gain weight. It pisses me off that people would constantly tell me MY WAY was wrong and that I should do this or that. My way was not unhealthy, it just worked for ME--and that's what matters in this situation! Everybody's body is different and just because some people need to eat six times a day, doesn't mean I need to...eating that many times a day feels like a chore to me.
When I initially lost weight and got down to 115 last spring and the spring before, I ate three meals a day and sometimes a snack after dinner, normally popcorn. I did an hour on the treadmill or the elliptical and some abs and lifted if I felt like it every now and then. I even drank once or twice a week (like drank to get drunk) and was still losing weight and right now I can't even tell you the last time I was drunk...sometime in January or February? I rarely even have a drink. Sometimes a beer with dinner. It's not even like my activity level was increased because I was in school. I went to the gym, sat in class all day, came back to my apartment and sat at my desk typing or doing homework...and I doubt typing burns that many calories.
It is so frustrating to be doing everything "right" and GAIN WEIGHT!! It makes me wanna scream. I'm going back to MY way of losing weight...those size 3 Hollister jeans that I can't fit into are KILLING me! Hell, I can't even fit into my size 4 Old Navy jeans and ON sizes run big!
Ok, done ranting.
So I plugged my numbers into that link Kimmy posted in her diary. If that thing is right, that would be absolutely amazing.
4/27 128.27
5/04 126.27
5/11 124.31
5/18 122.37
5/25 120.45
6/01 118.57
6/08 116.71
6/15 114.88
6/22 113.07
6/29 111.29
7/06 109.53
That's with me eating 1000 calories a day and exercising moderately 3-5 times a week.
I can wish, right?
Haha, I'm depending on that calculator to come through for me, too! It's a long shot, but it seems doable...granted there are no plateaus or any messups.
I think my scale is broken. Yesterday, I weighed 130. Today, I weigh 134. There is no way possible I could've gained 4 lbs since yesterday, when I didn't even eat anything bad at all. This scale is like circa 1980-something, like back in the day when my parents got married, so I think I'm gonna have to go on a little adventure later and see if I can get myself a new one. Maybe it's been broken all along and I don't weigh this much? Hey, one can hope. :)
scales are crazy. mine varies because my house is crooked and it gives me different readings depending on where I am at!
I am so happy for you I can't wait to see myself at 130! le sigh
and don't worry if you fall of the wagon a bit, this is for the long run and we all have some days that are a bit more caloric than others.
stay strong!
