General hysterical diet related rambling: From Flab to Fab.

You can defrost stuff in the microwave, but I know what you mean about the agg of it. It can affect the textures of some things as well.

I think i might start to think drink as well. For the past year, I think the only drink I have had is coffee, with the occasional tea :/ Thats baaaaad.

Thanks decisionmaker, I know, I couldn't believe it actually! I'm a proper size 16 again, rather than an 18 shoehorning myself into sixteen clothes. This has given me a huge boost! Only another 12 or so pounds till I'll be celebrating being a 14! Then 12, then 10, then just maybe an 8. I like the number 8. Its all curvy and symetrical and pretty. It has big boobs, a small waist and big hips. Yup, 8 is the sexiest number. I want to be 8.

I definitely haven't got little pins for legs! My knees are saggy as well. I'm trying to exercise the muscles above my knee in the hope that the muscle will stick out and pull up a bit of the excess skin. Most of the time when I'm out and wearing a skirt the buggy is in front of me anyway... so I don't care too much.

Heyyyy you.
Woah check out your measurements.
You slimmed dowwwwn, yo'.

Well done on a lot of exercise today. You're so motivating :D :D

And *hugggggs* for being a proper size 16 again. Shrinking a whole clothes size is so great.

Thanks decisionmaker :) I'm starting to learn to tolerate them (I first noticed as a regular skinny kid- I mean pre-puberty- that my thighs were bigger than other people's), although I sort of feel that no matter what I do they'll always be disproportionate. Everyone's got to have something they feel's wrong with them, right? (Or else the beauty industry's failed entirely!) It's funny, my knees are ok. Well, except the massive great scars, but I have no problem with the shape, and there's no sag.

Drinking water is great, but I do spend a lot more time in my bathroom at the moment. I think it's for the best (I certainly feel a little better for it). I'm trying to aim at 2.5-3 litres a day (including what's in food where my calorie calculator tells me that- I think in practice I drink 1.5-2 litres of straight water a day most days).

Well done on only having one coffee. And the dress size drop, that's bloody fantastic :D

:D Thanks!

I actually had about 7 coffees, but 6 of them were instant with sweetener and no milk!

Why have you got scars on your knees amy?

Tomorrow is weigh day, and it'll be interesting to see if I've lost more weight than previous weeks, as I haven't had any accidental 850 calorie brekkies since thursday. I really want to lose 2lbs, I've got my fingers crossed for 3 though.

A couple of reasons- I fell onto some gravel and it left a big scar, and I had to have my knees strapped when I was 15 and my parents assumed I'd grown out of my bad adhesive allergy (they do- did?- a prick test on the ankles of newborns. Then put a plaster/ bandaid on it. When they took mine off, apparently you could see bone. It wasn't quite that bad at 15, but I did lose a considerable chunk of skin on both knees, despite spending hours soaking in the bath with milk and olive oil and everything else my mum could think of to soften it).

I had a beef stew tonight. And found some reasonably priced rump steak (hooray for Lidl- 10 quid a kilo as opposed to Tesco's- I think- 15 or 18) so I'll be making a beef stir fry soon.

It was bloody awful at the time, and I sort of vowed then "no adhesive, ever again, no exceptions". It's a pain in the arse sometimes (I gave blood once and they made me wear a bandage which left my arm in a funny position, had to leave it for 6 hours, felt like a bloody martyr/ fool; plus when I cut myself there's not usually much I can do apart from hope I don't bleed all over everything. Fortunately I'm not as clumsy as I used to be)

Thanks :) I have to talk to the doctor again, see if I can get a test and talk about my health in general, but this has to be a good start.

I'll be making this with the rump steak (with some alterations, to cut calories):

Its a bit shit that your allergic to both plasters and bandages. Its like your body is saying "I don't want any help to heal myself, thank you very much, I'll do it all by myself" Like a sulky toddler with its bottom lip sticking out. No blackhead strips or false eyelashes for you either. Or gold stars for sex on your naked body :)

That stir fry looks gorgeous, I can almost taste it.

Yes, it is weigh day, and i have lost more this week than on any other week, woohoooooo! 2.64 pounds./1.2 Kilos. So i have lost a stone now, which is a mile-stone. I actually calculated that i would lose that exact amount of fat as well, I went over my food and excercise for last week, worked out the calorie deficit and divided by 3600 to get the number of pounds. I can't believe the sums were that precise.

I think I am a bit too desperate to lose weight fast. I have been a chub for ages now, but now I am on a diet, all of a sudden I want results FAST FAST FAST! Its silly.

I have christened today "the day of the crisps", I have eaten a lot of them, and blame my bastard boyfriend for bring not only a multi pack of walkers into the house, but also a large bag of kettles chips. Come to think of it, I've been exposed to lots of unhealthy food recently in the house, scotch eggs, muffins, sweets, chocolate, sausage rolls. It was only a matter of time before I caved in like a person being interrogated by the Mafia. Or something. The gi thing must be true, because I am craving junk now. Not a hugely strong craving that I will give into, but its there, lurking in the dark folds of my spare tyre's.

I wrote down what i ate the day before i started this diet. It wasn't that horrifying to me at the time, but is now, and I thought I would share it, so that if anyone reading it who thinks that they are miserably addicted to food and won't be able to change is reading, they can see how far I have come and hopefully get a bit of a push. Here it is:

A bacon and egg sarnie and lots of cereal.
A bowl of icing, a jam doughnut and an aero.
Indian with allllllll the extras.

Even though today hasn't been wonderful, its still sooooo much better.

Sooooo...... Today......... Day 27..........

YEWWWWWWW!!!!!!! That's awesome! It's incredible that you could be so precise! I think I eat out too much to ever REALLY know what's going to happen... Good on you!

Wow, it's so interesting for you to put that old day of food up here. I'd be adding a full pack of cheese balls or something too... It certainly shows how far you've come!

That mexican bean salad looks sooooo good, but I think a few too many cals for me. I tend to eat a bit more than you, i think, probably due to my fruit aversion... so I need to go for things a bit less. Looks great though!

AND the crisps made no difference to your day! :) :) :) Nice when that happens, eh?

I'm with you, but the cliche slow and steady wins the race is true with weight loss. Damn our efficient bodies!

The bean salad was gorgeous, but i had so much on my plate and forced myself to finish it all, and I was STUFFED! Could barely move for a couple of hours after, which serves me right!

Slow and steady does seem quite boring. But such is life!

All my shopping has run out, so I am in serious danger territory atm.... Will do it RIGHT NOW! I managed to justify a portion of kebab shop chips to myself this afternoon. I had a early breakfast tho and I was starving, so I think I'll stick to a salad later on. I a totally guessing my calories today, as I am knackered.

Food
Porridge with cinnamon and sugar (maybe the sugar made me give into the next thing easier) 450
Kebab shop chips 800
Salad 350
=1600

Exercise
3.5 hours walking -1300 calories apparently, but I don't believe it!
30 mins housework -163

Fruit and veg 3ish

WOW, you walk A LOT!
How did you find the time to do this? It's amazing!

PS: I'm Sara, nice to meet you :D

I was going to do my shopping with asda yesterday... when I logged on there were special offers of healthy stuff on the home page, sports drinks and the like. Today I have logged on, and the special offers are all pies and lattices! They know....... They KNOOOOOOW!

Hiya Sara! Well done on the 11 kilos you've lost so far!

I am at home with my kids at the moment, so I have all the time in the world to walk! I had an appointment today which was about a mile away, so I went there, then shopping for ages, then walked quite far to my sons school to pick him up, then home again. It all adds up! x

Hello

Well done on your weight loss so far, you are doing great! I have just sat and read all 8 pages of your diary, I really enjoyed it and it distracted me from wanting to snack as I was concentrating on reading - no time for mindless eating tonight!!

I do my shopping in Asda too, and I am getting so much better at refusing to buy crap - Lately I have been obsessively reading the back of packets if I get tempted (chocolate is my one true love) and reading the calories is usually enough to put me off. I tell myself 'in my head' that I cannot justify it - usually have a bit of a debate with myself and if I walk away I have a nice smug feeling for the rest of the day.

Keep up the good work and thanks for an entertaining read

That is some awesome walking you did there! I would not doubt that walking 3.5 hours burnt that many calories. So... Since you burnt nearly all the calories you have consumed what will you do now?
