General hysterical diet related rambling: From Flab to Fab.

AThanks Jasper :D I fry an onion, when that's golden I add half a clove of garlic, some crushed cardamon pods and coriander seeds. Fry that for a minute, then I add the soaked rice, fry for 1 more minute, put in the water, sprinkle some turmeric and sultanas on top. Its probably best to put cinnamon sticks in, but I always use powdered cinnamon. Then bring to the boil, cover and cook on the lowest heat for about 12 minutes.

Your totally right, everything happens for a reason :) I even have my own personal little reason now why its a good thing I got fat again!

Will try it with nutmeg next time Joh. Do you need fresh nutmeg or the powdered stuff? I'm making tomato, spinach and low fat philli instead of marscapone gnocchi tonight.

Thanks Princess, yeah I know it can be so hard to get back into it... but you'll do it! I think food guilt goes a bit if you've been eating loads of crap. I think its so sad when people have a few bad days then think sod it. A few days is a hoilday. Don't emigrate!

Thanks Sunflower :D

Seeing as I have almost all my new size 12 ebay clothes, I may as well show them all off to someone seeing as I temporarily disabled. One picture in particular at the bottom I think I look so skinny. Didn't realise it was wacko jacko on the front of the vest top till just now, it'll do for under jumpers though. Have my starting pic for comparison.

Oh, and note how my boobs have stayed almost exactly the same size while the rest of me has shrunk!

AOMG you look totally awesome. Man, you are so skinny!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

I was gonna put my pictures of 'the jeans' on but even the one that fits makes me look like a bloody heffa compared to you!!

You truly do look amazing. I can't even imagine me getting to that size.

Well done girly, you are so inspiring!!!

AHOLY SSHITE woman! You look bloody incredible! I can't believe that you are not a healthy BMI yet - the top right one, for me, is just plain hot! You have got such style and it really shows your personality!

REALLY. You look incredible.

Rainbow...you looking STUNNING!!!! I am so proud of you..you look fabulous!!

A:D Thanks so much everyone!!! I'm just so chuffed that I can put on size 12 clothes and they actually fit (well, ish!). I know I'm buying my clothes on ebay till I'm my goal dress size, but I feel like I could walk into a shop, pick up whatever the hell I want, go to the changing room, and not feel like crying. Which is always a bonus.

Kate..... put up the pics of you in the jeans!!!! Even if you feel like a heifer. I remember putting up one of myself in a pink top with my belly flab straining to get out, putting it up gave me extra motivation to make a change quickly. Hundreds of people see you every day! Its nice for your forum friends to see you too!

Eerika... You will do it. You won't be at 88 forever.

A weird thing that I also realised today, is that my hips are 40 inches. They were 38 inches before when I was 32lbs lighter than I am now. I very much doubt that I will have to lose all that weight just to go down two inches, so I am thinking that my body composition has changed, and maybe I will get to me goal of being size 10 sooner than anticipated. I am thinking that I'll do it in about 20 pounds, which is only 10 weeks of superhealthy meals away.

The bf is moaning to go on the computer... arghhh....

Tonight's dinner was the gnocchi, I bought the full fat Philadelphia by mistake. It was 396 calories without he chicken, which isn't bad. Was very tasty... The artificial light has given a bit of a yellowish tinge to the pic tho which is a shame...

AHoly shit Ruth, look at you! (sorry, late to the party) Not just your shape (but seriously, dayaaaaamn*) but also your... what's the word... pizazz. You look so sure of yourself, which is probably more important to making you look good than a lot of the weight loss.

(* look what you made me do, I hate misspellings like that!!)

And your dinner looks good- nice and moist, lots of different colours.

ADid you make the gnocchi yourself? That looks yum! :)

"I am thinking that I'll do it in about 20 pounds, which is only 10 weeks of superhealthy meals away."

This is ... ah, it makes me swoon. There's times when making long-term (perhaps this is more mid-term, I suppose) goals are so difficult and unimaginable. It seems so far into the future - sometimes even when it's jsut a few months away. The way that you are thinking about it, the way that you express it is just... I can't express how inspirational this is for me.

Day by day, eh. x

P.S. HA!!! JUST noticed the big pink pony in the background! Awesomeness. Rainbows and ponies and sequins, oh my!

AHeya girly

I have never tried gnocchi, that looks awesome, i am gonna get some this weekend and try it.

I have done it!!!!

AThanks Amy :) I know, I do look sure of myself don't I? I wish I really was :)

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!! You all fill my with happy and soppy in equal measures!

Gnocchi is really nice. Yeah, I made it myself with some help from lily who thought it was like play doh :) She had great fun squishing them, which is why they're different sizes lol. You get 430 grams of mash, and mix in 130 grams of flour and an egg. Knead it a bit like bread, roll it into sausages and cut it up, then boil it for three minutes till it floats. You could triple the quantities and put some in the freezer so its less hassle next time. Its loads nicer than shop bought gnocchi and really cheap too. In fact, my whole shopping for this mainly Italian week only came to £40, which is unreal. And its been nice so far.

Just measured myself and I've lost almost another cm, despite just eating this... It has onion, garlic, mushrooms, white wine, aribata rice, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, parsley and parmesan in it, and was okay. I'm not that much of a risotto person, but it was the nicest one I've had.

Ooooh, just checked my ebay and I've made £150 today! A pair of curtains I paid £35 for I got £60 for :) Only 9 things ended today. I have finally washed and ironed all my ebay clothes as well, so I'll be making loads over the next couple of weeks. I am a bit gutted on one thing I've sold, a new chandelier that I paid £50 for, I have sold for 99p! The photo didn't loads for some reason, so I only put the picture up yesterday. I'm going to lose money by sending it, but I'll put it down to experience

My leg is almost fine today. I am so embarrassed about being such a drama queen!!

Oh, and the eye bag doctor said that the person she needs to speak to about me being a demo model is away on holiday till tomorrow, so fingers crossed I'll hear back from her again soon and it'll be good news...

I"ve just stopped by quickly with a slight interruption of a whole tv program about a claude monet. So i've run out of steam dear. You do look excellent in your pictures right back there and your cooking looks yummy too.

keep on keeping on. I must say i don't feel like i am in much of a position to be giving anyone encouragement these days though.

AHey, just read through pretty much your whole diary... Youve come so far, and you look amazing! Loving the food porn too!

ARegarding Gnocchi

Do you use cooked mash or instant?.....Actually can you put the recipe on here. I thought you just bought it but am so up for having a go at making it myself.

This is gonna make you laugh. I was at work and we were treating a patient called Michael and i said to Rachel 'Totally random question but have you ever had Gnocchi?' She screwed her face up and said 'yeah, but i don't like it' 'Oh, i am thinking of trying it this weekend'. The patient then started laughing with us working in his mouth and he eventually said 'I thought you said nookie'!!!!!! Brilliant lol As he left the surgery he was still laughing and said 'well, you two are very entertaining'!!!

AI love risotto! But... sadly, the more cheese and butter the better... Yours looks so yummy though!

I love that your relationship with EBay is so give and take ;) \

And don't be worried about being a drama queen! I just hit my head SO incredibly hard I half expected blood to start pouring out of my nose. :) Happens to all of us, my lovely. SO GLAD it is feeling better!

A:) Andrea. I remember saying something about a scene you saw on your travels and thinking about painting it, have you done any paintings recently? I love art. I don't know much about the renaissance period but I used to be fascinated by them paintings and renaissance poetry as well. I think its true beauty.

Hi Ludafuz Thanks :D My god, that must have taken AGEEES! Will check to see if you've ot a diary.... If you want food porn, my dear lady, you will get food porn ;)

Kate That is so sitcom lol :) Love it!

Ingredients: 520 grams potato, large onion diced finely, medium sized garlic clove crushed, a tin and a half of quality chopped tomatoes, 130 grams flour, beaten egg, 200ish grams spinach, tub of philli, 50 grams ish parmesan.

1. Boil the potatoes (they should end up weighing 430 grams), then mash as fine as you can go. (could put it through a sieve, but that's just hard work!) Don't add butter or milk. leave for ten minutes for some of the steam to evaporate.
2. Put the oven on 200 to warm up. Fry the onion till soft (preferably in a pan that can go straight into the oven), then add the garlic and fry for a couple of minutes. Add the tomatoes, and let it simmer away for about 15 minutes.
3. Put the kettle on boil. Stick the flour and egg (and salt) in with the mash, stir it till its combined. Then put onto a heavily floured surface, and knead for 5 minutes, incorporating more flour if necessary till its got a "strong" feel to it. Slice it into about 6 bits, make sausages out of each bit, then cut the sausages into little sections. When the water is boiling on the hob, drop in the gnocchi, and boil for about three minutes till they float to the surface. If your feeling flash, stick them into a vat of iced water afterwards so they don't go "funny/slightly disintegrate".
4. Stick the spinach (and salt) into the tomato sauce till it wilts. Put it in an oven dish, mix in the gnocchi, blob it all over with marscapone/low fat philli, and parmesan dust (grated on the weird side of the cheese grater), put it in the oven for ten minutes till the cheese has melted. Then enjoy! :D

^^^^ That seems like hard work, but it isn't!

:) Joh Thanks! I put a note in with the chandelier, I said "99p?! You lucky so-and-so, enjoy (with a smiley face)" The curtains cancel out the chandelier a bit. So I don't really mind. Oh no :( how did you manage to hit your head? I always leave my kitchen cupboards open and end up nutting myself on them :)

The ticker situation.... The ticker is in my signiture box on my profile! But it isn't showing up on here! Think I'm going to do the starting, current and goal weight as well.

The food situation today. Ahem. I woke up this morning to no milk or bread in the house. The kitchen was a mess. Bad mood happened. So I marched down to the cafe with Lily and got a fry up. In my defence, I did get one fry up and a spare plate so we could have half each, but she was far more interested in the waterfall fish pond in there and didn't eat much, so I ate most of her half as well. Then, I got an urge for cake, so I went to the shop and bought a birthday cake, which is what I've been craving. So I had two large bits of birthday cake for dinner. Ooops. I'm irrationally pissed off with nick for not saying anything when I announced to him that I had an unstoppable urge for it, and was going to get one right then. But I know its my own fault. I could have come on here and waited to be told off if I was really that desperate for someone to talk me out of it. It was quite dry, and although the icing was lovely it was sickly. I feel completely drained now, I had to go and have a lie down in bed this evening actually, as I felt so physically and mentally sluggish. Ah well, live and learn.... live and learn :) I am going to do fabulously for the next four days to make up for it.

On the plus side, I weighed myself before I went to the cafe and I lost 1.5 pounds in the past 6 days. Booked a haircut for Saturday morning so I have nice hair for the carnival on Sunday.
