Sport Gatorade

Sport Fitness
ok so im sure at one point there was a thread on this topic but i am just wondering for myself.
My mother just baught a six pack of 591ml 'cool blue' Gatorade. Ive been drinking it all day, before and after my workout (i like water for during my workout) and i just want to know what, if any, benifits i am getting from this bottle of blue stuff.
Thanks

Gatoraide is pretty lousy. Look at the label: 0 fat, 0 protien, 14 grams sugar, some minerals (sodium, potasium...).

You are much better off with water (or green tea if you need some flavoring, be sure to get the 0 calorie diet kind of you buy premade green tea) and some kind of fruit. For example after my workout I drink 16 ounces of water, and eat a half a grapefruit and a banana as my recovery "drink".

thanks i knew that the sugar was high. I just dont have a water bottle and i was soo thirsty yesturday that i knew i needed to grab something portable to drink. Gatorade is out and i've filled it with water. lol at least now i have a water bottle thanks again

gatorade is fine if you're doing distance running/swimming/cycling. that's what it is made for...replenishing electrolytes (sodium, potassium) after extended intense sweating.

otherwise, its just as sugary as soda pop.
