Hi,
I've done a lot of reading about body building, and what I get is :
- If I want to add muscle mass, I have to consume more calories above my maintenance level
- If I want to reduce fat, I have to consume less calories than my maintenance calories
Now, I'm 26 Male, I'm very thin with a lot of fat on the stomach. So I want to add muscle mass but also reduce body fat. And I'm wondering if I could achieve both at the same time.
I got 2 questions :
1. I've read people usually do about 3 times a week for weight training and about 2-3 times a week for cardio. So it sounds like trying to gain muscle and losing fat at the same time. Now I'm confused about how should I eat. I need to eat a lot to gain muscle. But I also want to reduce body fat so I should eat less. So how should I eat ?
2. If we want to gain muscle mass, we need a lot of calories and a lot of rest. But doing cardio between weight training sounds to me like spending a lot of calories and reducing rest. I'm confused about the program I should do.
Regards,
Susilo
