Gained Weight

hey guys

I used to be 154 and got down to 129 and now i'm back to 145. :(

I joined a gym over half a year ago and ever since then, I started packing on the weight again. I admit that I haven't been eating too healthily but not that bad that I'd gain 16 pounds back.

What's wrong with me?

I can't seem to control myself but I do a lot of fitness too. Why have I gained so much back?!?!

Also, is it good to eat tuna daily? Like I eat it in almost every meal of the day.

Is it fat or muscle you've put on?

Bear in mind lean muscle is heavier than fat.

As for tuna...its good for you, but its what comes out the tin with it that can hurt.

You need balance. How did you take the weight off? You need to incorporate some of that into your every day life, n ot just when you’re reducing.

I have no idea what's wrong with you :p

Seriously, it's all about balance as LiveFromNY said. It's not about losing 5 pounds or 50 pounds. It's not about having the biggest biceps or the flattest stomach. Once people stop wasting time on their appearance and actually focus on how they feel and their health... that'll be the day the world's problems are solved :D Okay that's wishful thinking!

Anyway, eat well, move often, have passion in life, stop watching mind numbing tv, help the poor, make a child smile, save the forests, whatever. Just live life and stop worrying about the freaking scale.

It's like we forgot how to eat in our culture. Food is not a medication. It's a fuel. It's not here to make you feel good or cover the pain of a divorce. It's here to fuel the body to get through life. It provides vitamins and nutrients.

Exercise allows us to move our muscles and it lubricates our joints. It keeps us young and spry and able to enjoy life. It keeps toxins from settling in our body and causing stiffness and aches.

So what's wrong with you? I don't know. I am just rambling because so many people post the same question... and the answer always remains the same... throw out the scale, eat every 2-3 hours (protein and a carb), drink water, workout regularly with cardio and weights, rest often and enjoy life.

Well said.....now if only it were as easy as saying that to your clients and that be enough to make them take action, lol. A dream come true that would be!

I'll totally admit that I get frustrated at times with our culture. It's like we all need a shake in the head. Just today- I swear this is no lie- I watched a 2 hour show on Hugh Hefner (hey, I like his business sense!) and saw- no lie- 7 weight loss pill commercials, 2 bowflex commercials and a Jenny Craig commercial!

That's insane. Then I came here and couldn't take it anymore :) I had to ramble. Lesson I learned today: don't get frustrated with TV commercials and then post to a fitness forum :D

I tell my clients to stay away from television as much as possible. Not much good comes from it. Sure, there is some entertainment still out there, but very little. However, the cons far out weigh the pros!

One, if you are watching television, chances are pretty good that you are not being very productive. Two, television has been a major contributing factor to the fantasy land that many Americans live in today where many believe that the body of our dreams is just a stone's throw away. It has brainwashed people into thinking that total health and fitness is as simple as taking a pill, drinking a powder, or following a formula.

There are many, many better ways of spending your time. I have frequented many forums, but so far, this seems to be the most real. I would rather spend 30 minutes in here anytime opposed to watching 30 minutes of some stupid reality show.

LMFAO Lynn
how true all that is ! I am always thinking the same crap about all those damn diet campaigns and waste of money miracle pills they have. I can't even beleive how big the section is in the Wal-Mart of all the DIET STUFF!! and its all bull$hit !! lol

The world has become an ignorant place and *raises hand* I admit that I am currently trying to keep MYself from being sucked into all the irony...

If only we could stop trying to find an easy way to cheat everything and be able to just live life the way it was back in the good ol' days when people had neighbors over for homemade pie and let the kids run around in nothing but overalls without having someone call child protective services on you. And without someone's freaking cellphone ringing!!

Gimmicks and cheats..the world is growing into nothing.

ashes ashes we all fall down!!

Lets just e njoy ourselves people ! Be active and eat healthy and enjoy life. Thank you TrainerLynn ! :) You have made my day with your blunt outburst!
