full body/parts

Helloo.

Ive started working out at home now instead of going to the gym as its alot easier to just hop straight into a workout :) I lift 3/4 times a week and ride bike trials (cardio) for about 2hours a session and I ride about 4x a week :)

For the weight routine at home should I do body part workouts or full body workouts? If I were to do body parts each workout would it be ok to workout for 30mins as im only doing 1 or 2 body parts? Or would it be better to have a full body workout twice maybe three times a week or do different body parts each workout but have 4 maybe 5 workout sessions a week for weights?

Thanks~

Consider a FBW 3x a week such as the 5x5 here. It is definitely a mistake for many noobs to consider splits as their body is not advanced enough.

Diet is important but as you are training at home, you are limited by what you can do without all the equipment in the gym. Do you have weights at home? What does your weights workout look like?

Im going to go back to the gym atleast twice a week now :)

Weight routine hard to say I try to cover many exercises and I used to do a 8x3 routine but now im going to try 12x3 and see how things go :)

8X3 means 8 sets of 3 reps, im guessing you mean 3 sets of 8 reps right???
I know thats nitpicking, but i just want to be sure. Try a fullbody 5X5 routine or something similar.
And you dontneed alot of exercises. Concentrate on getting stronger and eating good and you will see results.

Yer 3 sets of 8 sorry bud. Ile try the 5x5 then. Bit hard to do that at home due to weights. I could do 5x5 twice a week and the other 2/3 times do a 3 sets of 12 at home.

When working out I do exercises for :

*Back / Lats
*Bicepts/tri's
*Quads
*Abs
*Chest

I do alot of bike trials which is good for calfs ;)

If you don't know the routine you were using off-head chances are that you were not doing an efficient workout. Its not about how many sets and how many reps but what lifts you are actually doing. You can do 1000 reps with the coloured dumbbell and do little for your whole body compared to someone who just does 20-rep squat .

Agreed, I must be woozy for no reason at all. My keyboard seems wobbly. As long as you do compounds, like the Squat, Bench, Deadlift, Rows, Overhead Press, Pullups/Chinups, Dips those will hit multiple areas at once and help you burn the fat.

Ile do 2 full body work outs at the gym a week then if I go anymore times ile just do cardio I think with minor weights and I have some weights at home which I will also put in once or twice a week :) Most of my cardio will be biking (bike trials)
