Check it, Im a 22 year old 6'6" smoker clocking in at about 359 pounds give or take, because of my blood pressure scare, and unfounded fear of having a heart attack any day now (turns out the BP was white coat but im still staying on the meds until i lose a few) I plan on losing about 120 lbs. of that over the next 8-12 months (sooner of possible later if need be). I know, "blah blah 1 percent a week, blah blah blah you'll gain it all back if you lose it to fast, etc etc." Nonetheless i find my goal reasonable and healthy for a man of my age and frame, granted any tips provided (particularly those given by people that have actually lost weight) will be taken into consideration through out this diary.
I have gone ahead and placed my goals into 3 simple steps for success.
1. Quit or significantly cut down my cigarette and alcohol intake its not good for my blood pressure and its full of tar and empty calories respectively.
2. Join the local boxing gym, and YMCA I tried the gym, gym and frankly no dice I dont enjoy treadmills and ellipticals, alternately I love swimming and boxing, hence i shall exercise by these means (not including my raised amount of walking) and these means alone, until i reach around the 315 pound mark at which time i will begin to do weight training, and yoga (both of these services being provided at aforementioned YMCA).
3. NO RED MEAT NON-NATURAL SUGARS, OR FRIED FOODS....ok some but once every 9-12 days tops and in moderation, combined with a 1800 calorie a day diet for the first three months (Unless this intake does not allow me to exercise to my fullest extent at which time i shall raise it to 2200 calories, not avoid exhaustion and similar roadblocks.) i plan on losing the first 50 some odd pounds within the said 3 month time frame.
Wish me luck I will keep you all updated with weekly weigh ins opposed to the daily intake same thing being typed every day stuff, unless of course i fall off track, am replying to posts, or something drastic happens, you will be hearing from me weekly and no more or less.
Hear goes nothing June 8th 8:33 AM 359 lbs.
Hopefully I will be saying September 8th 8:33 AM 310 lbs.
