From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Those teas sound great. Most of mine are just regular tea made with tea leaves, but I might have to branch out and try some other stuff. I've had turmeric tea before and wasn't super into it, but the others sound wonderful.

Cory I recommend buying the herbal stuff fresh when you can. I buy chopped and dried licorice root and dried whole anise, but the turmeric and ginger I buy as fresh root for cooking and tea. It makes a huge difference. Be forewarned that fresh turmeric stains a lot and if you overdo the fresh ginger it's basically hot pepper water. You can fix it with dilution and sweetner though.

I had a bit of a pig out last night. I skipped the scale this morning and I'm right back on track. Today is easier with no caffeine, but overeating upset my stomach which is actually great as a a deterrent for the near future.

I do like some ginger tea LaMa and it would be nice on my stomach about now.

I had too many boiled sweets today (whyyy is there a sweets tray in the office?) and my stomach is complaining as well. Allergic to ginger these days though.

I had to search to define boiled sweets. We call that hard candy. By either name they're tough to have at arms length. Boo to no ginger.

& we call them boiled lollies. I can't have lollies in the house & always say no to them when offered. They are way too addictive!
Upset stomach from overeating is a great deterrent. I always get G to serve my food up as he hates over-eating & always serves small portions. Hope your stomach is better tomorrow Q.

:p I did a google. I don´t even know the official German word; not sure if there even is a specific word for hard candy as opposed to just any kind of candy.

Ah, I think you're right! Here in Austria people usually say Zuckerl (little sugars) but those are all kinds of candy other than chocolate.

Here we have lollipops which are sometimes called lollies, but they have to have a stick. Bonbons are typically soft chocolates here. I'm going to stop talking about candy now.:drool5:

293.4 this morning after a much better food day.

Thanks Cate, I had an even better day Friday. 290.3 today is a nice reward. I hope to be in the 280s tomorrow. I'm going to stay active and eat well. I think I'll do a 5k today.

I've largely equilibrated to the absence of caffeine. I slept in a bit, but I woke up much more alert than usual. I'm hoping this will be an effect of not being under caffeine stimulation all day. My normal amount lately was obscene in retrospect. I would drink about a quart/liter starting first thing in the morning, a double shot of espresso at noon, and one or two 16 ounce/500ml Yerba Mate energy drinks with 130 mg of caffeine each. That's about 1,000 mg daily average and I had much more coffee on the weekends and some days during the week. I read that 790 mg is the safe limit for someone my weight. I've done at least double that for sure. Mayo Clinic says 400mg/day. Either way I was messing up. If/when I do go back to it, I'll pay attention to how much I have.

Whoopwhoop! No reason to be completely without vices but I´m sure there are healthier ones out there. Although coffee, in moderation, has been proven to be healthy.

Not if it makes your guts scream LaMa, but maybe one day moderate amounts won't do that anymore.

So we ran a 5k Saturday and it was tougher than I expected. I was sore this morning and my weight hoped up to 293.0. Not a worry because I had a good day with food and that generally is the pattern when I step up the exercise. The asinine daylight savings has the clocks ahead an hour now. The suck will be my first ever adult "spring forward" without caffeine. The awesomeness will be more daylight to run in in the evenings!

We don't change the clocks for another two weeks and I'll be happy about it because Vienna is too far east for the time zone it's in and it gets dark crazy early. Good luck getting back into a rhythm!

I'm definitely struggling with the time change. Why is this a thing?
