From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I'd recommend that style for you. Personally, I'd like a chimp one, but the added wind resistance of the ears would be too much. Be sure to add a tail and paw mittens for full effect. Reeow!

I too thought about wind resistance and turbulence. That's why I'm thinking of ordering a matching tail. I figure it will work like a spoiler and keep my body nice and balanced as I tear through the wintery winds. Plus, I mean...look at it. I'll have to beat women off of meow, er ME with my paws, HANDS, I mean HANDS.

The ladies too you mean. That cat can run!

Just 1.2 miles this evening. I have a presentation tomorrow that I want to practice a bit more and I'm baking my cornbread with Aseel dates to go with our dinner. I'll report back on the results, but I'm typing up teh recipe while I still remember it.

Cornbread Quercus-Style
1 cup corn masa
1 cup stone ground cornmeal
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 Tblsp flax meal
4 oz unsweetened apple sauce
1 Cup unsweetened cashew milk
10 pitted Aseel dates diced

Preheat 10-inch cast iron on bake @ 425
Mix ingredients thoroughly
Mix should be fairly solid but wet enough to stick together. Add extra milk if powdery or crumbly.
Add mix to pan when oven preheats.
Bake 22 mins.

Oiling the pan will make it easier to remove, but a well seasoned pan will let you get the cornbread out with a little effort and no to minimal destruction.

I really like this minus the dates, and I'll report back on the dates baked in.

Sorry rest of the planet, all ingredients are in 'murican because that's how all of our stupid food comes and how all of our ovens, spoons, and cups are marked. As a scientist I abhor a nonsensical measurement system, but I was indoctrinated at an early age and blame my parents and country (especially Republicans).

Thanks Stacy! I'll give Chef the lion's share of the credit on the funny or at least the pink kitty's share.

252.8 this morning which is dumb. 2,300 cals yesterday and 1.4 miles run for day 442 of the runstreak. Perspective time: I'm down 5.2 pounds in 11 days so no whining allowed.

Maybe that's your body's way of telling you it doesn't want to run any stinkin' farther this weekend.

Funny? I was dead serious. Haven't you figured MEOWt yet?

I love that attitude - "which is dumb"

I'm the same way. I weigh myself and sometimes think, "Well, this is dumb. This whole shit right here is dumb."

Oaks I think it's saying "Is that all you've got?".

Thanks Stacy! That would be an UNWANTED poster?

Thanks Cate! It's often a fine line between dumb and awesome. ;)

Pics or it didn't happen Chef.

250.8 this morning which is less dumb. 2.5 miles and 2,100 cals yesterday.

Thanks Cowboy! It would probably be effective in Texas. Running from all of the rednecks would keep teh intensity high.

So tonight a ran a hard 2 miler on the track. 17 minutes something. I don't have my watch on and I've earned the laziness that prevents me from getting it. I'm feeling slim tonight. I forgot to eat a snack this afternoon and haven't had a bit since dinner so I'm sitting at 1,585 cals for today and I'll stay there. I'm not too hungry and I'd love to see a new low tomorrow.

Good night WLF!

Hello mate. You have run every day for 414 days???! OMG that's awesome.........am actually considering that
I'm at week 2 of C25K so it's 1 and a half min interval at the moment but hey, it's still running. My app recommends me to rest the day after (so my muscles repair and become stronger, or some crap like that) can I ignore that and just crack on?
Oh, God. I'm gonna end up copying you and bloody doing this.........why, oh why did I read your journal lol

Thanks LaMa! I am.

444 days Kate! I ran with lots of rest days for nearly a year before I started my streak. My wife is on the same streak and she had run for about 6 months before she started and she took it very easy at first. If you read far enough back you'd see that I couldn't do a c25K at first because it was way too hard. I'm a huge fan of running every day because it has changed my life for the better, but the key is for a slow mile to be really easy before you get to streaking. My first streak was 22 days and it was tough. Rest and recovery is critical to getting healthier and advancing as a runner, but with a good foundation you can get active recovery with easy runs. I can run a mile at a leisurely pace without getting my heart rate into the lower aerobic zone (70% of max). It didn't start out that way, but you should at least be at a point where a mile isn't taxing before you start to streak. I think the C25K is a great way to build that foundation. I started out with a heart rate monitor and I went above my calculated aerobic zone in few strides and built my way up to the week 1 C25K level. So please copy me and ease into it and build up a good base. I'm thrilled that you are catching that running bug again!

So all time new low since age 14 this morning! 247.8 is one pound lighter than I've ever been and 3 pounds lighter than yesterday morning. -85.4 since 2014 when I really started running. Obviously that's a terribly slow loss rate, but that time covers regains, knee surgery, crappy eating, and frequent drinking. Still about 0.6 pound a week over 2 years and a couple of months is still trending in the right direction. Since I've figured out my food allergies and started logging all of my food it's been 8.2 pounds in 13 days. A big part of it was overeating and drinking, but I have no doubt that eating things that made me sick was holding up my progress. I don't think I'll mourn all of the foods I've lost anymore because I feel so much better without them.

So the calculated distance based on my weight loss would be 9.7 miles. I'm not doing that today because I realize that my body isn't ready for that long of a distance every week. I'll do a really long run next weekend and likely a few miles today.

Woohooo! Congratulations on your new weight PR! 0.6 Pounds a week may not sound like a lot but keeping it up for two years straight makes it awe-inspiring nonetheless.

Aaand I´m tearing up again; I get that a lot these days. Having a trailblazer is very helpful, so thank you (even if that´s not been your intention).
