From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I'm glad my Mum was a very ordinary & disinterested cook! It is funny though how most of us have very much in common. Hope you guys survive Thanksgiving virtually unscathed. Good luck with that!xoxo Cate

My father worked at a brewery. How did I ever get fat?

That explains a lot Vee. They take "Food is love" to a whole new level don't they?
Yes they do. My dad however did not work in a brewery, he was a Chicago police officer.

Thanks Cate! You're always so sweet!
Thanks LaMa! We do pretty well.

So I've been pretty neglectful to the WLF folks and my weight loss lately. I will try to get to some journals tonight.

The runstreak continues and I'm going to try for a 5K PR tonight to avoid the topless shot I agreed to in the November plan. I need to have not blown at least 1 element of it.

Never mind, we all get that sometimes. But I do notice that when I don´t at least read along I´m less inclined to do what I know needs doing for my health.

1,2,3: Oberkörper frei!

Congrats on the year of running Q! And nice selfie of you and Mrs. Q.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

We'll love you anyway Q, but you can't afford to neglect your health. Your run streak is AMAZING! Ha ha re trying very hard to avoid the topless shot. What a way to keep up your motivation! :D xoC

Thanks LaMa! It sounds just as dirty in your lingua franca.
Thanks Vee! Doing well here.
Thanks Cate! I'm slowly righting the ship.

The 5K didn't happen. I'm reluctant to follow through as no one kept up the challenge. The last post was by the challenge starter on the 9th to say she was doing poorly. I put it on myself so I'll do it.

I salute you too Q [emoji106] You are a man of your word! [emoji819]?

Thanks Cate!

I know I look super saggy like an old Ballon with the air let out. Hopefully that changes when I get rid of some of the subcutaneous fat near the end of the fat loss. I'm setting up a plan of attack to start heading in that direction and I will update this weekend.

Yeah, that's about the same as me in roughly a similar spot BMI wise. The "loose skin" stuff doesn't seem too bad, and mine has definitely gotten better as I've dropped more weight.

Good work on keeping the streak alive. You're the Cal Ripken of running.

That's encouraging Vee.

Thanks! 2,632 consecutive games (yes I looked it up). 2,259 days to go until I am really the Cal Ripken of running (of course he had days off between games (slacker)). Also, he got paid to do it (cheater). That's just 6 more years and change. No problem. I'll buy a Ripken jersey for runstreak day 2,632. Probably a medium.

I spent a big part of my evening writing up detailed plans with goal for reducing and eliminating medication, BF goal, weight goals, waist goals, exercise goals, measurement schedules, and maintenance plans.

It's way too personal to share in it's entirety, but it will involve weekly weight, bf, and waist measurements starting tomorrow and 2,200 calories as well. I expect terrible numbers tomorrow, but that doesn't matter. The last leg of my weightloss journey begins now.

Good night WLF!

Today's Measurements (12/5/2015):

Systolic 134

Diastolic 78

Pulse 36

Weight 258.4

Waist 42.13

BF% 25.5

Goals:
Systolic <120

Diastolic <80

Pulse 40-100

Weight 198

Waist <40"

BF% 10-15%

The BP readings are odd, but it's just a single read. The pulse is ridiculously low. These measures will be weekly at minimum and charted with trend lines to ensure overall progress despite the swings that will be inevitable with a healty deficit of calories. I should probably shoot for daily BP monitoring so I will have a month of data to take to the doctor in January.

The weight is really high, but that's okay. I improved with my eating yesterday and today begins the calorie counting. This is day 1 of the final leg of my weightloss journey. I will take a long time, but from this point forward there will be progress toward the end.

A Note on BMI:
I am not concerned with BMI as it is a poor indicator compared to body fat percentage for a large mammal like myself. There is no way that I can achieve my goals without being under the BMI for obesity (30) and i am currently at 32.3 and it will be 31.1 when I return to my previous low. Anything below 240 will be an overweight BMI, I think that my temporary weightloss to get my body fat really low will dip into the "normal" BMI range. This may change, but that will be bore out by BF% and waist circumference.
