From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

You know, I don't mind feeling like nature chewed me up a little bit. It means I was outside and probably doing something active. :D Hope you enjoyed your run today.

I know the skin is our first line of defense and it´s supposed to deflect all that nature throws at it but it sometimes seems to get more sensitive with every rash, burn and abrasion. Good job STILL keeping the streak alive!

That's awesome that you are fitting into smaller clothes! It always makes me wonder a bit when I see posts on another forum that say 'losing inches but not pounds, help!' I like to see the number on the scale going down (especially as I currently haven't taken measurements) but I wouldn't care if the scale said I weighed 250lbs, if I had a hot svelte body!

I was back at it in the field today and again tomorrow. Day 187 was 2.3 miles on the road. So much sweating today and this evening.

The scale was ridiculous this morning up 6 pounds since Saturday. Whatever! The June challenge will get the weight back down in a hurry. I bet it will be much better in the morning.

I just sang the intro to the Black Eyed Peas "Let's get it started" for you and I thought you should know. In case you are unfamiliar with this hit, the very thoughtful and innovative lyrics go a little like this:

And the bass keeps runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'.....

Thanks Mystic! Still up from 2 Saturdays ago but I'm going the right way at least.

Oaks, being a conniesewer of the finer things in life I was aware of that fine work.

256.8 this morning. Finally back in the office after 6 days straight in the field. I should feel more like running tonight. I was thinking that for the June challenge I would add a mile for my weekly total each week. So this week is 15 and next week would be 16 and so on. Thoughts?

Hi Q, Glad the scales are coming back down. I think there has been a general revolt with the scales lately & they are back in line now. Maybe the moon & the stars are back in alignment. Anyhow, go you! A big hi to you & E, :waving: xo Cate

Read that as crossdresser (speedreading ftw) and wondered how one would even notice the difference while running, but of course: color. Most men don´t do color in exercise gear.

I think adding a mile each week is a fantastic idea! When I'm running regularly I love keeping track of weekly mileage and watching it slowly creep up.

A mile seems like an awful lot. That'd be 4 or 5 miles added by the end of the month. I would maybe do half a mile, but you know better what you're capable of than I do.

Thanks Mystic! I go back and forth on tracking and just going with the flow as the mood strikes me.

LaMa it's not like what I wrote was a word. I thought horribly misspelling connoisseur would drive home my sophistication.

All right Cate! A mile is far when you aren't adapted to running.

Thanks Oaks! I need a focus and weekly mileage seems like a good one.

Cory it is a pretty big jump, but 15 miles isn't a big deal for me and a mile is less than 10% added a week which I've seen as a recommendation before for adding distance. I could do a 10 mile week the first of July. I will see how it goes and if it gives me trouble I'll back off.

255.2 this morning. I'm hoping for a new low by Sunday.

I ran a 5K for day 189 in 29:41 so 3.1 miles puts me ahead of the curve for my 15 mile week.

I like to aim for around 10%, too. Inevitably every few weeks there's a sharp decrease, for any number of reasons, and your body will first thank you for the rest but then realize it's missing those extra miles.

I had a really low mileage week last week because of all of the field work so even though I didn't run much it wasn't restful as the field work beat the crap out of me.

Day 190 5K 29:21 so another 3.1 for the week. Today kicked my ass, but I enjoyed it. Beat yesterday's time by 20 secs.

Q, I believe field work would beat the crap out of you. I did a 1.5 mile hike. I had walked this trail several times before, but didn't know the distance and was quite shocked to realize how short it was. Going through undeveloped land is WAY different than walking on a road or a sidewalk. Congrats on the 20 second time improvement!
