From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I also tried on pants last night and the cords and work pants that were too small size 36s now fit. There are 2 pair of jeans left for goal jeans. one pair of size 34 and one size 36 that is at least as small as the size 34. I can't quite button either of those two. Hopefully by the end of the year they will button. My wife is buying me a new pair of Lucky jeans for xmas size 34x34 and hopefully they will fit when I get them. I'm wearing 36s now, but it's the only pair of Lucky jeans I have left.

I gave away some shirts and I am trying to give away a jacket, but it was too small for the guy I thought it would fit. The game plan is to stick with my xxl shirts until larges fit. I don't see the point in buying xl shirts that I won't wear for long. The xxl button ups look way worse too big so they are being given away as I try them on and decide one by one.

26 pounds since October 1! :hurray: that is truly amazing! Good for you!

Glad the running is going well. I love to run and usually do so at least 5 days a week. I used to do 7 and I didn't have any problem with that physically, but then I never had time to do anything else, so at least one day I try to do some cardio combined with weights. But running is my favorite exercise and I think it is very effective. I think I would have gained a lot more weight if I had not been running. And during that time I was running mostly 3 miles and not 5.

But I wasn't always a decent runner. It several months for me to actually enjoy it. I think you are well on your way to that! Feels good doesn't it?

I think everyone here knows that a too-loose shirt is way, way better than a too-tight shirt.

Regarding the sneakers, I have an issue with my heals sliding out of my current pair, and I spend too much time getting the laces just right. The new pair will have padding to make up for that (I hope).

Thanks Jen!

Thanks Jade! I try to focus on running 30 minutes and not caring to much about distance. Being in the 270s I'm still very slow, but at that slow pace I feel really good and I keep getting faster bit by bit.

For sure LJ, I don't mean to complain. I just don't see buying a whole new set of shirts just to turn it around and do it again. Larges wil be with me for a long time and at my height I may never wear a smaller shirt due to length. We'll see though. Size 34 jeans aren't too far off and I never would have thought that would happen. I wore 36s well back into my childhood.

276.4 this morning for a 1.8 pound drop from yesterday. I'll spare you a revamp of all of yesterday's stats, but one that I just realized is that I'm 36.4 pounds away from being overweight rather than obese. That's a big deal as I've never been in that category in my entire life.

Day 8 of 36
AM Run
1 mile
11:03 PR

I may have run a mile faster before my knee issues, but I've never measured a faster single mile. I left my watch at home so I will have to update the HR, but it was high. I had to go for a blood draw this morning so I needed a quick run to get there on time. The run felt good. I got enough sleep last night and that made a huge difference.

Whoop whoop for the PR! Cutting the distance let you see what you were capable of. Now let's keep getting enough sleep so you can continue this streak to your full potential, ok? Ok!

Thanks Oaks! That PR has 6 180 degree turns in it which slows me down. Running in a straight line would involve big hills, bad potholes, and angry dogs so I need to find a trail or road to get a better 1 mile time, but it's comparable for the usual loop that I run. Sleep has been better than ever lately, but we stayed up too late for the first time in a while.

Thank you LaMa!

Ugh, dogs. If I want to run when I go back to Oklahoma I have to do loops around my dad's yard in order to avoid all the neighborhood dogs. I forgot all about that.

They bark a little and follow when I run in the daylight, but in the dark they are rather aggressive. I'm more worried about being shot at when the owners are woke in the wee hours to a big dude with a headlamp "running away", but either way it's no bueno.

Not being in a neighborhood dogs around me don't deal with people passing by on foot.

Sounds like home... Well, home when I was a kid on a bike anyway, nowadays people keep dogs as pets rather than as weapons so they make sure they can´t get out of the yard and get run over.

Most of the dogs along my roads are pretty friendly. There are a couple huge working dogs (Great Pyrenees) at a goat farm that are pretty intense, but if I don't come too near their pasture they just bark loudly and one house with a herd of mongrels that have a pack mentality.

We decided last night to make today a gym day so I will be running this evening.

275.4 today for another pound down since yesterday. This is quite a streak and I hope it will keep up for a while. Maybe the Thanksgiving pigout was sort of a reset button or maybe it's just the daily runs kicking things into high gear. Either way I will take it.

A big milestone this morning as my wife and I passed a combined total 100 pounds lost for the year this morning with both of us down a pound for 100.8 pounds lost this year. She measures in whole pounds so 100 on the dot by her method. She had surgery early this year so she didn't start running until June. She is catching up in the running and weightloss department and she is handling the run streak better than I would have at the 5 months running mark.

Happy Friday everybody!

Awesome teamwork on the 100 lbs, Q, you two must be pleased. Also nice work on the pound/day streak - a one-day streak is still a streak, right?

Have a great weekend!

We are pretty pleased LJ. It's been 5.5 pounds in 5 days and even if you discount the turkey day rebound I've had about a 3 pound week from before pigout until today. Not gaining back or stalling on most days is a welcome change. If this keeps up for the duration of the streak I'm going to run every day until my legs fall off. That will be a really big drop too. :)

Wowww you two are doing great! Legs account for approximately 40% of bodyweight, but artificial limbs aren´t light either (unless you´re rich), so better give it an extra think ;)

It is awesome that you and your wife are doing this together! I think it will make the life style changes easier since you are both in it together. :)

I too need to regularly get more sleep. Most nights I get about 5 hours. Keep doing what you are doing, your persistence is paying off!

Well LaMa guess I'll have to taper off as they start to feel loose.;)

Thanks Jade! It makes a lot of difference. I made progress with running while she was unable, but it was so much harder then.

Thanks so much Cate!

Day 9 of 36
Indoor Track Run
2.75 miles
30:35
158 avg hr

Good run! The wife hit a PR and I believe that was a post kneebola PR for me too.

2,300 calories today with yummy Thai food for dinner.

Go You 2! Thai- very yum! We'll be having a scratch dinner tonight as I didn't go to the monthly market :( Oh well....enjoy Q!

That Thai was good Cate, but it must have settled in. I bounced up a pound this morning to 276.4. No worries though.

Day 10 of 36
Recovery Run
1 mile
14:41

I didn't bother with the HR monitor. Barely broke a sweat. It was lovely out, but I was tight and tired after the track run last night so I played it smart and got some recovery time in.
