From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

So I broke my rule and made a Mexican cornbread and poisoned myself on new year's day. So kiss my ass Cholula! Put garlic on your ingredients list you pricks. So yeah, no weigh ins and I felt terrible through Sunday. We had a great day Monday going to the Sabine national forest. We saw bald eagles and hawks and some red-cockaded woodpecker cavities.

I ran 30 minutes tonight which I intend to do most if not every day. It was in the 20s and pitch black. Otherwise I'm working on eating less and sleeping more.

Sleep is definitely important Q. Not just for weight loss, but for overall health. Hope you're feeling better.

Completely unlisted? That deserves a letter, even if it may not actually change anything. I get really annoyed by "herbs", "spices" and "natural flavoring". Give me names and numbers! Hope you´re feeling better by now.

Congrats on the 400+ day run streak and good luck on that hunting conversation. Found myself in a similar situation as hunting and fishing were always a big part of the family diet growing up. Luckily at this point my folks think this plant based diet is only a phase that won't stick so didn't take it too serious when I mentioned it to them.

Ugh, what a bummer, dude! But yay for bald eagles. I've seen a few hawks around my neighborhood, but definitely no bald eagle sightings. My best hawk story was when I walked past a tree with a perfect circle of white feathers scattered around, then looked up to see the smug hawk on a low branch just chilling.

Thanks Cory! I got to bed early and slept like a log. Feeling pretty good today.

LaMa that's the bummer of it. Since it isn't a common allergen they have no obligation to list it. I'm back to normal.

Thanks K&D! My family acts like they don't remember or comprehend vegan. "I made some chicken too so you could eat." "I made veggie stew. There's only a pound of beef in it and it settles at the bottom."

Thanks Oaks! We have a red-shouldered hawk that lives in our woods and lately he come to investigate and gripe at me when I'm in the woods. We talk back and forth and understand each other equally well. They eat a lot of birds.

So 258.2 this morning which is exactly the same as last Thursday. Upping the running and getting my food in order will get things moving quick.

Too funny Q, reminds me of a restaurant I visited recently. After asking what vegetarian/vegan options they had, and ordering a veggie stir fry I was asked if I wanted to add chicken or shrimp to it. Was tempted to ask if they could also add bacon

Sometimes I forget how lucky I am with my family... About the garlic being unlisted: I had to avoid yeast (among other things) for a while some time in a previous millenium and... yeah, you just end up eating home-made everything. Most companies here tend to list everything, even the ingredients of ingredients (like "broth" or something), which makes me very spoiled and happy.

Oh Q. What a pain. I can't believe how little information is on things or how people just don't seem to get food allergies or preferences or, in my case fragrance allergies. Some seem to take it as a personal insult. Glad you got some decent sleep & feel back on track. I love hearing about your wildlife. I will never forget seeing bald eagles soaring above me in Maryland, while I was being driven to NY city by my late BIL, listening to the local community radio along the way(which he subscribed to) Such lovely memories.

K&D I feel confident that bacon was an option. I'm done with restaurants except for one meal at one place that I have once a week.

LaMa I got sick again last night with home cooked food. A new bottle of dried cilantro is the only new ingredient. Either it has garlic or I have another allergy. Ugh!

That is a nice memory Cate.

257.4 this morning and I ran 3.38 miles in 30 minutes last night for day 406 of the runstreak. I'm reduced to a can of beans for lunch instead of the food E cooked. I didn't sleep well and I am super frustrated with this food Bullshit!

......why the beans? Lower calorie? Also, I'm also having beans for lunch today. I love beans though, so it isn't really a hardship for me.

You'll get the food under control Q. Sometimes you just have to wait to be ready for it.

Hey Cory! I had an allergic reaction to the food E cooked and that's why I'm stuck with the beans. The gripe about food was also about the allergy crap. I didn't make that clear. I don't think there was garlic in it which means I'm allergic to something else.

Ohhhhh. I missed some stuff while I was gone, apparently. Are these new allergies? I saw about the garlic, which is rough.

Time to get tested again... Living on beans alone can´t be the way forward! If I may add my two cents: it sounds like your body is generally in uproar right now, which may mean a trace amount of garlic in that dried cilantro (or in something else) was enough to trigger another bad reaction. Doesn´t mean it will stay that way and I really hope it won´t.

I don't know what it is Cory. I'm still trying to figure it out.

I didn't even eat the beans LaMa. I still feel bad so I have only had 2 carrots and a banana today.

My plan is to go super basic until I can get to the allergy doctor. No spices, sauces, frozen, or canned food. Either raw plants or cooked completely plain. I can't keep getting seriously ill every few days. It should be great for weight loss and otherwise be miserable.

You poor thing! Can you eat oats and almond milk Q? I hope you get to the bottom of all this, but I know how hard it is to find out exactly what you are allergic to. Your body does sound like it's under attack. Good thinking on the totally clean eating Q!

Thanks Cate, Cory, and Oaks!
So I had a dinner with plain beans and quinoa cooked to mush in a pressure cooker. With nothing in it but bean, seed, and water it was pretty bland, but my stomach feels better today than it has in a good while. My blood pressure and weight are down this morning too.

I see my doctor Monday but I will talk to him about seeing a specialist.

256.6 this morning. Day 407 was a slow road mile last night. I should be good for a half hour today.

Hope you're doing better!! :)

:seeya: So glad to be back here! ** I have missed y'all! ;)
