From 300lbs to 215!!!

insperational man. im in the same situation as you were. and seing stuff like this kinda recindles hope

I usually get a lot of people who say wow, you didn't look like 300lbs. but you have to remember, that a normal weight for a 6'4" male is around 200lbs. So having 80 extra pounds packed onto a person of my height is easily covered up with the baggy clothing.

Thanks again for the support!

Wow Congrats

You've done very well Bro!! Im going to be like you when I grow up, or down...whatever. How tall are you and WHAT DID YOU DO, what was your regimine like? Im about the same build (6'3'') started at 350, now im down to 300, i tried posting a few times but I could never figure it out!! More importantly...Cheers to your health!

Portion Control

I started off by simply walking. I would go out and just walk around my neighborhood for about 2 hours a day, as often as I could. I started off by walking and then slowly moved into dieting. You don't really have to change your diet the very first day... just add exercise to the diet you already have and you'll start to notice a difference in just a few days just by how you feel and how much energy you'll gain.

After you've gone a few weeks doing that.... then start changing your diet. The first thing I started doing was to drop sodas completely, and switch to water. Lots of water. If I got a craving for coffee I would make a hot cup of green tea (half the caffeine of coffee) to spike the metabolism and satisfy my caffeine craving for the day.

After that, I switched to portion control which I have to say is *****THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!!***. I cannot stress this enough. It's simple, eat for about ten minutes (taking a sip of water between mouth fulls), then STOP. Just get up, and walk away for about ten more minutes... So what if it gets cold?, that's what microwaves are for! You WILL (I PROMISE) find that when you get back you're NOT going to be hungry. Put the other half away and have it for a meal later, if not tomorrow. When I was at my heaviest, I once ate an entire large chicago deep dish pizza and large order of garlic breadsticks in one sitting. I realize now, that entire meal could have lasted me for almost a week at 3 meals a day.

For the last part of my diet, I found that printing up a blank calendar and writing my weight down on it at the beginning of each day, became VERY IMPORTANT , If I ever started to fall off my diet. I would feel like crap having to write a higher number on that calendar each day.

Hope my plan helps....
