From 232 to 198 goal 150

Hi all! I have been looking at everyones page and you are all so motivating so I decided to post some of my before and in between pictures. Let me give you some history first. I got married 4 years ago and soon after was put on a steroid (which I later found out I did not need) and gained 70lbs in 3 months! WOW! Well I got off the steroids but did not lose the weight and even gained a few more pounds. Well In January of this year I started to eat better (I became a vegetarian) and I also started to exercise. I started out at 232lbs I am now at 198. My goal is 150. I am 5'6" tall. Let me know what you guys think. I like many other people who have lost weight cannot tell when I look at myself I can only tell in measurements and clothes! The first three pictures are of 232lbs and the next two are 198lbs.
 
Good job! You look beautiful.

I need to round up some of my overweight pictures (I don't have many as I avoided the camera a lot) and post them along with some more current shots.

Wow what a transformation.
We are very similiar in our starting and current weights.
And I too agree that it is hard to tell the difference in myself.
When I do notice it, it usually takes me by surprise. LOL
Keep up all the hard work, you look wonderful.

I know! When I look in the mirror I can't really tell but when I go to try something on that did not fit me before and now it is too big that is the best feeling in the world. If I had to go by my view of myself I would have quit a long time ago but things like that get me through each day!

you can see such a difference already though! I am the same height and starting out from 210. Goal 150.
What are your secrets? ;)

Thank you so much! I had tried all the fad diets in the past with no avail. Either I didnt lose, it was too hard, or I gained it all back. So I decided instead of dieting that I was gonna get healthy. So I started doing research on different foods and how they affect your body and decided to become a vegetarian. Don't get me wrong I love meat but this has been the best thing for me. I allow myself one day a month to eat meat other than that I eat veggies, fruits, whole wheats, nuts and stuff like that. I eat carbs even a sweet every now and again (in small portions) and I am not starving all the time. I do however drink ONLY water. When I say only that means not another drop of any liquid enters my body and Wow I feel so much better. I have also cut out all caffeine and my energy level is way better now. I also try to do some form of exercise for at least 30min. 3 days a week. Nothing strenuous..just walking or tae bo or even dancing. I am about to start some firming pilates type things to help tone up.

This has been the best change of my life. I feel better, I don't feel as if I am dieting it is more of a lifestyle change. Also because of my cooking healthier my husband has lost 20lbs also. It is amazing how much eating healthy can do for you. I lose about 2-3 lbs a week which is what doctors say is healthy.

Just a quick update. I lost 3 more lbs this week! So I am down to 195! Yea! I am leaving to go to the beach in 3 1/2 weeks and I hope to be in the 180's by then! I have started jogging which is something I never thought I would be able to do but I am getting in shape and I love it! I heard jogging helps lose fat around the core which is definately my problem so I thought I would give it a try! Thanks for all the support so far. I will put pictures up when I lose a little more!:seeya:
 
Hi All! So just a quick update. I have now made it down 191lbs. I leave for the beach in 1 week and I want to be at least 189lbs. I think I can do it. I have now built up my endurance and am able to jog two full miles without stopping. I do this 3-4 times per week. I am down from a size 20 to a size 14 and in some things I can wear a 12! This is US sizes. So I went out and bought a cute tankini. Not a one piece because I am so proud of my accomplishments but not a full bikini cause I am sooooooooo not there yet. Plus I have been tanning which makes my fat look alot better I think..haha.....anyways...let me know what you all think. Am I tankini ready? Be honest even if you answer is no..i don't want to go out there looking like an idiot.

Also thank you so much for all the support. You don't know how much you guys have helped me with your kind words and also seeing everyone elses success stories.
