Free's Rotation Diet Diary

Lost 2.2 lbs. on 1200 calories and about 120 minutes of exercise. I did splurge a bit over the 4th and gained 2 lbs. but I have lost that weight and another .8 of a pound since.

:iagree:

I think you are on to something. 1200 calories for 3 days straight is hard for me too. Keep us posted on how the new rotation works out. Don't feel bad about splurging on 4th. It is hard to avoid all the bbQ.:conehead:

I am still losing weight at 1500 (a pound or more a day) and at 1800 (.2 to .4 of a pound a day) so evidently my modifications are working.

If you are losing a pound or more in a day on 1500 cals then your diet and exercise program must be speeding up your metabolism.

Lost 1 lb. on approximately 1650 cals (I grilled Salmon and corn on grill with butter so I don’t have exact calorie count, but I am very pleased with this weight loss. Today I am back on a strict 1200 calorie intake. This 1200/1500 rotation is so much easier alternating days. I think I can stay on my modified rotation diet until I lose another 50 pounds at least. I have already lost 48 pounds and that was with over 3 weeks where I did not diet at all.

You have convinced me to try your modified rotation diet. The number of pounds you are losing on your 1200/1500 rotation are very impressive and it does not look like you have slowed your metabolism.

Well here is my latest modification of the Rotation Diet:

1st Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 6 days then 1500 on 7th day.

2nd Week:

Next 7 days 1800/1500 calorie alternation

3rd Week:

Alternate between 1200 and 1500 calories for 6 days then 1500 on 7th day.

4th Week:

Next 7 days 1600 increased by 100 calories
per day to 2200 calories per day

This is a 4 week rotation instead of the 3 week rotation of Katahn's Diet.

:(

Lost no weight on 1200 calories. The possible reasons are I stopped eating low calorie snacks like carrots between meals (I had been eating the equivalent of 5 or 6 small meals a day); and I changed my exercise routine (I haven’t been walking as much and I have not been rowing or biking at all recently). I am on 1500 calories again today I am going to eat lots of small snacks today and take at least a 40 minute walk.

Smoothies are an excellent weight loss tool, so it’s no surprise that there is an official weight loss product now available on the market called Right Size Smoothies.

:banghead: I am in a rut. Lost no weight on 1500 calories. I walked for 45 minutes. I swam for 30 more. I ate lots of snacks and still no weight loss. The only thing I can think of is that since I have been doing a lot of physical work around the house, lifting stones, shoveling dirt and clay that maybe I have added some muscle. I hope this is the case. Today is my last day of 1200 calories. I am going to take it easy today and see if I lose some weight.

I've been using your rotation and I am losing 1/2 pound to a pound a day on 1200/1500. I hope you haven't lowered your metabolism.

I doubt that I have lowered my metabolism. More likely that I have added some muscle weight from all the lifting of stones and digging that I have been doing on my patio:cool:.

:driving:

Lost a pound on 1200 calories. I did not do much lifting yesterday so it looks like not losing weight earlier in the week is attributable to my building muscles by lifting stones and digging on my patio. I noticed that several posters on the forum have mentioned that weight lifting will reduce weight loss because muscle weighs more than fat. At any rate I am relieved to see that I have not lowered my metabolism and my modified rotation is still working.

That's good news. Maybe you should lay off the lifting.
