Frankies Diary

I am over the moon I stuck to my plan!!

We went out to a work colleague's of my husband for dinner, and it was just beautiful. It is always a balmy 25-30 degrees celsius here, so we sat outside and had dinner. We took a beautiful bottle of champagne and some red wine, and they opened the champagne immediately, but I told the hostess I was on a diet and off alcohol, and although they all tried, including my husband, to make me drink, I stuck to my water, and reallly am not missing it.

Dinner was bbq lamb, with green salad, and beetroot and goats cheese, mint and blood orange salad - yum! And potato salad that I passed on. I also passed on dessert. My husband had three helpings of dessert. Oh, and then they had chocolates and coffee which I skipped. Around 11.30pm we got a taxi home.

Frankie has a bucket on his head, and is on two types of antibiotics and the cortisone cream, but I can already see an improvement. Poor boy, bless him!

We are off to Beijing this friday, my first time, so The Boys have to be healthy as they are going to the kennel for the first time, and I will fret as it is!! My girlfriend I have known since I was 22 lives there at the moment (but leaves on the 5th December for another job, either in London or Hong Kong, so can't wait to see her!)

Anyway, today we have another work lunch, but will do the best I can like I did last night. Walked The Boys this morning, but no gym, am sore from yesterday, and plan to go tomorrow.

This weeks plan:

- no alcohol
- gym 4 - 5 days (depends on what we have available where we are staying in Beijing, will find that out in the next couple of days)
- fill in exercise diary (already doing)
- finish week 2 of couch to 5km. (Am sort of following this but doing more so to speak - really more week 3, but trying not to push it.)

And that's it guys, will tune in tomorrow

Frankie

I did it, I ate as best I could at lunch yesterday, and didn;t eat any deep fried stuff, had more veges and no noodles or rice. And no yummy chardonnay that all other 17 people at the table drank!!! Yeehah!!!

Sorry, but although for others this may be easy, for me it is one day at a time, choice by choice, meal by meal.

Dinner, I had a slice of wholemeal toast with a scrape of avocado and lean ham. Oh, and boy, I had a LOT of water yesterday.

Weigh in was this morning: 80kg neat. so I have lost -0.4 of a kilo since being back. I am happy, it is in the right direction, and I feel in control, focused, determined, and healthy and happy.

Sleep is still my worst thing with my cat that keeps me up all night wanting to get outside. In a highrise, small, with no balcony apartment in the middle of the city, this is not an option. It is killing me. I look like I am having big nights out, and I am not guilty!!

In the afternoon my husband went to the pub with friends, but I stayed home. He came back tipsy, it was funny!!

So is monday here, and only did 35 minutes on the treadmill instead of 40 minutes, but still did what I needed to do for week 2 of couch to 5km. My legs were heavy and sore, does anyone know of any supplements that can help with that?

Have my plan for today:
B: watermelon and low fat yoghurt,
L: low fat ham and salad sandwich
D: baked salmon and salad

Frankie

Stuck to my plan yesterday, even when my husband had 2 beers, and opened a bottle of wine for dinner. I still didn't drink, and I felt great for it. I didn't overeat, and I drank heaps of water. I am still sleep deprived, but I feel good in all other areas. I know I just need to remain focused, and realise this is not going to happen overnight, and do this one day at a time.

Frankie was not so well yesterday, and I think the antibiotics are not making him feel well, poor boy, so I am just trying to look after him as best I can.

Today's plan:
B: watermelon and yoghurt
Lunch: wholemeal sandwich w ham and salad
D: home made burgers

We are having some friends over for dinner tonight, and hubby is doing the bbq. It should be fun.

This morning I did 5km in 40 minutes, and I am not as sore as I was yesterday, and I did a big stretch. So I did what I planned to do.

Consistency, consistency.

Frankie

Yay, another day I stuck to my plan, so I feel great for it!! I had the burger for dinner, only half the bun (bottom, no top) with weight watchers home made mince burger, lettuce, tomato, dill, and beetroot and dijon mustard.

We had three guys round for dinner, they all had beers and drunk three bottles of red wine. I went to bed with The Boys, and got up this morning and cleaned up (left them to have fun last night), took The Boys for a walk, and then went to the gym.

This morning I did 45 minutes on the treadmill walking at 6.5km per hour, and did intervals on an incline at 2,3,4 doing each at 2.30 minutes. It was damn hard and I did 4.8 km in total. Did I say how hard it was???

So today the plan is:

B: 1 piece wholemeal toast w low fat ham and avocado
L: don't know yet
D: soup from this place within walking distance of the apartment.
Tonnes of water

I am going to do an early weigh in this week on friday morning because I am off to Beijing till next wednesday to visit my friend Marion. I am sooo excited to see her. We are going to see the Great Wall on saturday, and to Kylie Minogue on monday night!! I have never been to Beijing, so am really looking forward to it, although apparently it's down to -2 degrees, and I have one warm article of clothing (everything still in a container) so will have to borrow from her alot!!

Stuck to my plan again yay!!

I am changing things up today, am going to go to the gym this afternoon if I can remain motivated. It is pouring with rain here, so The Boys and I got soaked on their morning walk. Didn't feel like then going to the gym, as I normally do.
Have alot to organise today before going away tomorrow, so that will keep me busy. Frankie is still not 100% but is getting better. Poor boy still has the bucket on his head.

Last night H has chocolates and ice cream after we had had soup for dinner, and of course offered it to me, but I said no. I didn't actually want or need any.

Will write later when/if I motivate this lard ass to get to the gym.

Didn't get to the gym yesterday - had all these things happen and ended up having to do alot of walking - went to the shops three times yesterday. Had to buy bedding for The Boys - the kennel makes them sleep on plastic on concrete!! We have beds for them, but as usual, still in the container!

Anyway, no point me saying much, I am the only one who sees this anyway.

But, weighed myself this morning and am down to 79.4 kilos, so have lost 0.6 kilos.

I can't weigh myself again until monday week because will be away.

So my goal is not to gain weight until then, and get to the gym three days out of the six I am away. This is going to be hard as am looking forward to seeing my friend and spending time with her - this usually involves alot of food, wine and laughter. Will try my best to stick to the latter!!

Well, am just getting all the Furkids organised before they are picked up, last minute packing etc.

Have a great week!

a bit over half a kilo is a good loss, it looks like your cosistancy has been ok, Have fun in china. :) and don't wory about the missed gym session to much.

I'm back!!

Trusylver and Anke, thanks so much for stopping by my diary, it really means alot!!

Well, have been gone for much longer than anticipated. Beijing was awesome, and we had the best time. And I got to go to The Great Wall, it was just amazing. Then decided to join hubby and go to Taipei, got home around 1am this morning after the plane was delayed for 2 hours on the runway. I was far more impressed than I thought I would be with Beijing, but Taipei doesn't do it for me, although the people were lovely.

I ate and drank, and didn't stick to any goals, and didn't go to the gym once. Am too scared to weigh myself, but will do so next monday and take responsibility. It was fabulous to spend time with my girlfriend, and the awesome news is that she may also be moving to Hong Kong. There, or London, so fingers crossed!!! It would be great as I don't know anyone there and we have known each other for 15 years or so and never managed to live in the same city!

Anyway, am back, and will get back on the horse so to speak and start my routine and continue this journey.

Frankie

I am glad you had a great time :)

Thanks for dropping in to my diary :)

I will check back again soon

Well I feel like crap, no energy, achey all over and stuffed up nose, but am just going to head down to the gym with my ipod and do some walking on the treadmill. My first time back at the gym since before I went away.

Food has been good since I have been back, but could be better, so am going to work on that. It's a quantity thing, not junk food, but you know, one slice of bread more than you should. Have been off alcohol since being back, so feel good for that.

Anyway, better go. Plan for today:
B: watermelon and yoguher
L: sandwich w low fat ham and salad
D home made fajitas, no cheese, just beef and salad

It's hard when you feel so blah, but even if I do half an hour walking it's better than nothing. Have walked the dogs for an hour already.

Frankie

Mmmmm, I love fajitas. You ever seen the Family Guy where they go to the fast food place and order 10,000 Chicken Fa-JY-TAS, and 1 So-Sauge McBiscuit? :rotflmao: Do you use a George Forman for your fajitas?

Good for you for picking your workouts back up. Just be careful since you're sick. It sounds like you had a great trip!! I'm in Okinawa, Japan and would love to go to Beijing!! I've been too busy having babies to really travel anywhere. We're supposed to move soon too(oh no)!!!

Well done for still taking care of yourself, even though you may not feel like it... it will pay off!!!

Feel better soon!

summer colds are the worst. well done going to the gym despite how you feel.

Get Well Soon !

Hey Doxie, thanks for stopping by. No GF grill, but have a great one still in storage. We are living in a temporary serviced apartment till we move to Hong Kong next year, so kitchen stuff is very limited here. The old fry pan with a smidgen of olive oil had to do, but they were delicious!

I walked on the treadmill at 6.5km per hour for 1/2 an hour, not much but something. Food was pretty much to plan, although probably a bit too much fajitas!! I still feel like crap, but am going to walk on the treadmill again. Funny, but my girlfriend has the same flu, and says she feels so tired as well. The good news is I slept really soundly, and am a light sleeper that usually spends hours awake at night with very little sleep. My body obviously needs it.

Hopefully will feel better tomorrow and can start again on my couch to 5km programme.

We are still trying to work out where to spend christmas. I favour going somewhere like Vietnam for say 8 days, but H is thinking of going back to Australia for close on 3 weeks. I don't want our Furkids to be in a kennel/ cattery for that long, so we'll decide this weekend. It just doesn't feel like christmas, could have something to do with not being at home, in a very sterile apartment, with none of our things around us or any friends/ family here. It will be great once we are settled next year. And something to look forward to.
