Foxy's Diary

I haven't weighed myself in weeks, but the last I checked I was sitting around 260. Completely devastated. I was this weight in January 2006. I busted my butt with a trainer, exercising and eating healthy and got down to 148 pounds for my wedding in October 2008. Since then, I have had 2 children who are now 6 and 4, dealt with some relationship issues and struggle with binge eating at night. I can't seem to stay motivated.

I did a few rounds of the 21 day fix, but always go back to my old habits because of my stressful life.

I WANT to do this!! I hope this forum gives me the push I need.

Hi Foxy & a big welcome to the forum. The best motivation for you could be the future health of you & your children. If I could turn back time I would have done things very differently. My younger son struggled with being the fat kid at school, Bulimia at High School & poor body image even still, even though he is very slim. I put most of it down to my being overweight when he was young & being such a yo-yo dieter . I wasn't much of an example.
I think the best plan would be to make gradual changes that you can stick with & include daily exercise for you & your kids. They are still plenty young enough for it to become their norm as well as yours. I would never talk about "being on a diet" if I had my 2nd chance. It's about making healthy choices & a healthy balance.
You can do it. Looking after yourself & becoming healthy has to be a top priority. Don't be down on yourself. Sometimes we just do the best we can, especially under stress.
Once again, welcome Foxy. I look forward to following your journey. Cheers, Cate.

Thanks for the warm welcome Cate!!

I'm beyond stressed out today. My oldest is sick so she's home from school. She went for about an hour this morning, just enough time to take her class picture that was today and then I brought her home. My youngest is also home today from daycare because she's starting school this fall, and they had a kindergarten class tour today. They have both been fighting and scrapping all day and I'm just done with it.

Yesterday's food was okay (not the greatest)

Breakfast:
2 eggs + 4 pcs turkey bacon, 1 piece whole wheat toast with nothing on it, 1/2 banana

Lunch:
Chicken Salad and an orange

Dinner:
Taco's with lean ground turkey, green & red peppers, onions, jalapeno's and hot sauce

Snack:
Air-popped popcorn

At the present time I am not able to do the 21 Day Fix workouts due to a knee injury. During one of my photoshoots (I'm a photographer) I got up wrong and heard my knee crack and then I couldn't walk. I had to have my clients help me walk back to where I could sit down. I called my husband to come pick me up and I had to cancel 3 of my other photoshoots that day. Since then, I have been unable to put much weight on my right knee.

My kids are actually getting along and not fighting today. Pretty sure the world is ending. haha! I hope your knee feels better soon! :)

That sounds a little like hell. Home, with 2 fighting kids & a painful knee :( Poor you. You did pretty well yesterday with your food Foxy. Hope you survive today, relatively unscathed. If not, tomorrow is another day :)

Welcome to the forum Foxy (love your username btw, Lol)!!

Your food choices weren't too bad actually...keep up with nutritious and healthy meals and the weight will still come out, even if you can't work-out for now. Try some upper-body exercises that won't put strain on your knees...water aerobics can also give you a good workout and they will prevent you from further injuries...you can do that with the kiddos around too, it might be fun for them as well.

Best of luck to you!

Today is going a little better than yesterday. My bike had been stashed at my parents place for years and I just had them bring it up for me! I might try biking if it doesn't hurt my knee too bad. I'll start off slow and then slowly build up to longer distances.

My oldest is still off school today. She's on day 4 of having a fever, so going to take her into the doctor tonight.

:( Poor kid, hope she gets well soon. On the other hand: yay for bikes! Start with relatively low resistance if your knee isn´t feeling ok yet, but biking is normally good because it´s a continuous motion (no peak impact) which helps to "grease" your joints.

Definitely!

Turns out my oldest has a pretty bad double ear infection, so she's now on antibiotics for that.

I'm going to get groceries tomorrow night and do my meal plan during the day. Anyone have any great recipes they love??

I tried a new recipe the other night. Roasted acorn squash. I cut the squash in half - then coated the inside with organic butter, a bit of salt and pepper and a small tsp of brown sugar. Then placed a tsp of butter on top. Roasted face side up on 400 for about 45 min. I loved the taste of it, but I have a hard time with textures, so it's going to take a few tries to get used to this!

Welcome! :waving:

I am a big texture person so I share the struggle! I am such a picky eater and while not the main reason for me being overweight, I honestly feel it contributes. I do try new things, but I usually go back to my boring standards. The one thing I never did was push my hate of certain foods on my sons. I encouraged them to try everything they can, because being a picky eater it is something I would love to change about me.

Hope your daughter's ear is feeling better, ear infections are so painful...poor thing!
