My name is Lisa and I was here back in December all ready to "change" my life and well, let's just say that didn't happen. At least not in terms of weight loss and overall health. But my life did "change" in many ways. I am 22 now, newly finished with school, and finally have a great partner and a great group of people around me to share my life with. Dare I say...I'm happy?

I think that this matters. I finally love myself. I love myself enough to desire to help myself now. Before it was about losing weight, now it's about doing something for me.

I desire health and wholeness in my life. I want to feel the burn of exercise once again. I want to be able to look back a few months from now and marvel and what I have accomplished.

I finally have TIME to dedicate to me. There were so many distractions before and I never took the time to think, learn, and grow. So here I am back and truly prepared.

So here are my goals:
Lose 30 pounds
Better my relationship with food
Try new things
Reflect

Ayurveda I something I am growing more and more interesting in so I wa t to explore that as well as many other things. My main forms of exercise, at least for now, will likely be running, strength training, and eventually (hopefully) yoga.

Goal Date: Christmas 2011 :)

Sorry if this has seemed, a ramble, I am just finally excited! I haven't decided how best to track my progress...if anyone has any ideas or things they like to do, please share! I look forward to meet, talking, and sharing in success with many of you.

Welcome back!

I was the same. Ready to change...and change didn't happen. Here I am again, and with a much more motivated mindset.

A lot of people like to keep a log of what they eat. I do that, it helps me see what I'm eating and if I'm up or down on my calories.

The basic idea, though, is to make better choices. If you have to eat out, go with healthy food, rather than a cheeseburger.

Good luck :)!

hi :seeya:

I've just found your diary and I feel like you! Whenever I started with great motivation so often I gave up. But of course this time will be different!! ;)
I'm from Germany and my English is not the best, sorry!
But I would be delighted if we could support und and provide each other with motivation during the weight loss process =)

I try to reach my goal with WW and it works quite well. From time to time I replaced a meal with a protein drink. This works really well so far!

I wish you the best of luck and staying power!

love greetings

Sandy

Hi Lisa! Do Yoga now. It helps with flexibility and focus, and will help you breathe better during exercise. Don't worry if you think you are not flexible enough. Inflexible people get the most out of a session. Just take a beginner class or buy a video or read a book. There are lots of cheap resources out there. Equipment can be bought at a local store and includes a mat, a brick, and maybe a strap. You can do long sessions, r grab 10 minutes here and there. It will also improve your strength, balance , and posture and will help keep you from getting injured during exercise. Best wishes!
