Forearm injury - HELP

PLEASE HELP. I've been struggling with an injury on my left forearm, very near the crease by my elbow. It is fine if my arm is resting at my side. If, for whatever reason I hold something up, it hurts and, anytime I do curls, it is very painful. It gets "tolerable" after awhile, but I'm weaker on that side and it is hampering my training. I've tried ice, heat, anti-inflamatories, etc, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

uh, see a dr ?

You've tried everythig but rest my friend.

It sounds like a muscle injury. The doc will say rest. Try a lighter load with more reps for now. If no pain, steadily build up the load.

Try and learn when pain onsets with regards to training to try and continue your training

Well, I was hoping someone had the same injury and would have some advice. I will go to the doctor, but I'm sure he will say just rest it and I'm pretty obsessive about working out and I WILL not rest if I can continue to work out. Has anyone had maybe a steroid shot for a similar injury that worked?

It could be something like tennis elbow or golfers elbow. Does it hurt with simultaneous extension of the elbow and rotation of the wrist?

The thing about both of those injuries is that the treatment is rest. Its a pain but it probably the best thing you can do.

Also to the other posters, sometimes people want to get a feeling for the knowledge out there before they rush off and spend money on a doctor without doing a little research themselves. No need for sarcasm.

I have the same problem!

I have the same problem as you for a few days now! It's on my right forearm tho, some times it hurts even when i move my wrist. I haven't found the source of the problem yet tho.

It's not tennis elbow. It's not on the elbow. It's above the elbow. It is fine when the arm is extended; however, on curls, or if I have to hold my arm up for awhile, it is very painful.

Thanks for the responses.

Then its the bicep muscle. Very common injury point. See a doctor to ensure there is no tear. May just be a strain from doze preechur curlz.

yep what tom said, i have had that exact same injury it took 3 weeks i a home made sling, after which you go light for a month after, any sign of pain just stop and your done for that day
edit: my pain was a sharp line, from the pivot point moving down toward my wrist. burning sensation but sharp like a knife wound. it's just a strain/fray from your fibers to the tendion, minor give it rest for full recovery
