football training

alot of people at school are telling me that i should look into joining the football team rite now for senior year thats coming around.
my schools gonna start football practice in about 2 months, and im lookin to get a head start and start my training rite now.

ive got a pretty good build, weigh about 155 pounds, 5"7, 17 years old, last time i lookeid had a 5.3 40 yard dash, but i can improve
.
i kno i need to get heavier for the season, but im not really sure what kind of training i should really focus on my body, can anyone give me a few lifting workouts that are beneficial for football and what kind of parts of my body i should definately workout?

any tips or pointers would be much appreciated.

Weight lifts: squats, clean and jerk, deadlifts, bench (incline, flat, decline).

Running: 100 yards dash, up-downs, sleigh run, tire flips, 1 mile (4x around the field), etc. Be sure to break in your cleats.

Diet: Lots of carbs(complex) and fruits and veggies.

Hit hard and low, and keep those grades up. Good luck.

For Agility and Speed I'd go over to sparq.com. They have free training programs. Id still find time to hit the weights, dallen listed a lot of good excersises to do.

just a heads up on this post since its a few months back,
things are lookin good, i gained about 8 pounds of muscle, taking weight gainers rite now so that i can actually do some real good damage on the field when i hit, the teams full of fast, but small, guys and im one of the few dudes who are actually pretty built. and i can definately see some progress on my physical performance so hopefully the season turns out to be DECENT. were not state for sure, but we got a couple school rivals we need to beat during our season. overall the advice is good, carbs, water, and protein are my best friends every morning. hittin the weights, flippin the tires, runnin greasers, and doing passing league. cant wait for the season to start.
