foot surgery coming up, help.

Hi all. In two weeks I'm going to get a bunion surgery on my left foot. I will be wearing some kind of postoperative surgical shoe for two weeks after surgery and some sort of bracing for the next 6-8 weeks after that. And after that, the right foot. I have just started jogging every morning and implemented some beginner pilates/toning for the past month. My body has started to tone a little and i have more strength. I am afraid that the surgery will cause me to fall behind. What am i to do for the next 4 months??? What kind of workout can i do that will not place stress on my feet besides lifting dumbells?
Much thanks.

Swimming is wonderful. take a plastic garbage bag and some duck tap and seal your foot off, then swim laps. It really is spectacular exercising.

ask your doctor what sort of exercises are allowed and how soon after your surgery you can do them. they will have guidelines for you to follow, and since they are the ones doing your surgery, you should probably follow them :)
