...How are they ever going to cook at the same time?...
sort of wondering that myself. the numbers look good...

....though when it comes to soups, i usually view "serving size" with a smile... 1/2 cup? ... really? though i suppose most people don't view soup as a main course.

10 minutes iced tea...

1) ~20 oz water into the microwave for 4 minutes (boil).
2) 2 tea bags, 1oz lemon juice, 6 packs Sweet 'n Low, 60 oz pitcher - ½ full of ice & water.

dump the teabags right into the pitcher... makes them cooler to squeeze out.

even this is strong for me... ice will melt, but i add ice to a glass and it's still ok.

i'm sure everyone's taste is different.... since i started i've modified the quantities twice... at least this might give you a good starting point. i cringe when i see people buying Snapple... iced tea is 99.9% water guys!!!

btw... yes, i can afford to buy drinking glasses, but i break too many. for coffee/ hot beverages, i use the Vegas method... wrap a napkin/ paper towel around the glass to hold it... just DO NOT get it wet...!

have to say that watching the news recently has really given my vocab a kick... just this past week...

spe·cious
/ˈspēSHəs/
adjective: specious

superficially plausible, but actually wrong. "a specious argument"
misleading in appearance, especially misleadingly attractive.

dis·in·gen·u·ous
/ˌdisənˈjenyo͞oəs/
adjective: disingenuous

not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does.

the 15 bean soup is ok, but i think i have a better use for the package. it sort of tasted like a watered down chili, so next time i will mix in some ground beef/ something and thicken it up some. should make a good 15 bean chili...?

...just don't tell Sheldon.

Thanks for the iced tea recipe, it’s not something that ever really caught on here, but I might try it sometime. :)

the two changes i've made over time... i went from 3 bags ---> 2. one day i was just down to two bags and after making it, realized i couldn't taste a big difference... and getting 50% more out of a box seemed worth it. i also went from 7 --> 6 S'nL packs. Sweet 'n Low seems to be the artificial sweetener that works best for me (doesn't appear to trigger an insulin reaction) and i've always found it the sweetest of the three colors. when i see artificial sweetener testing, i also seem to use quite a bit less than they usually tout as "typical".

not going to the Club again until i settle down...

interesting phrases... settle down is not really the opposite of settle up.

True! :rotflmao: In fact, sometimes you can't settle down until you've settled up!

And I see you've left the 170s Club again - it was lovely having you for a short visit, but I'm glad for you that you're back with the 160s!

three days of moving a lot more than my typical days...

in retrospect i'm regretting passing on finishing off some ice cream yesterday that was left over from the pot luck the night before.

i'm pretty sure any goal weight for me now would be meaningless. if i kept up the same activity i had for this past weekend, i'd probably stay in the low 160's, but for how i live now most days, i'll probably go back up to the high 160's. then depending what i assume is mostly water weight, i can easily go up or down 4-5 lbs from that weight. healthy BMI numbers are between 19 and 24 due to how individuals treat their diet or activity, not to mention generally different body shapes, so as long as i stay within that range, a few lbs +/- isn't going to concern me.

i've been considering doing something to strengthen my abs... if i can't get rid of that last little bit of pudge, some muscle tone might do a better job of hiding it... :)

this is probably closer to reality...

my drive home is 100 miles... just under 90 minutes most days. i try not to drink much before taking off ...more than likely i was a qt. low, but i wanted to momentarily enjoy a low reading so i took advantage of the deficit... :)

i will always remember a rhyme coined to me by my mom.... "a pint's a pound, the world around"

why do i still feel i'm doing something illegal...
I understand, my one visit to a cannabis shop in Oregon had a surreal feeling. I kept expecting Sargent Friday to nab us at any minute; "Marijuana's the flame, heroin's the fuse, LSD's the bomb". I think it is great that its legal (some places anyway, not here), never understood the logic of it not being.

... "Marijuana's the flame, heroin's the fuse, ....
both are Schedule 1 drugs... the most dangerous with "no accepted medical use" [sic] (...according to politicians).

opioids (Fentanyl, Oxycodone, etc), methamphetamine and barbiturates are Schedule 2. ...wow.
