Welcome to my world.

49 this year, and as I look back, I wonder where did all the time go. And how much of it was consumed by being unhappy.

I've had a taste of being thin...had my share of gaining weight, and then a bit of a roller coaster until I said fuk it...it's no use even trying.

Then one day, about 11 weeks ago, I got a nudge. A little gumption I call it, to try again.

My lifetime high was about 235. My lifetime low was 165.
I dont have a target...but I know 165 was way to thin...and 235 was incredibly fat on this frame.

I started at 218ish on November 1st. I hit ONEDERLAND on Christmas Eve. And since then, I've seen 198 twice. :)

One thing I hate is weighing in and seing 201 one day...and 199 the next time...so friggin psychological that I find its been affecting the start of my day. But, I weigh myself religiously, so that I know I'm on the right track.

Aside from eating better I've done a couple of things to help me on my way. One is to finally use my gym membership that I've had for like 8 yrs (every second day)....and the other is to occasionally use a tanning bed.
The combination has made me feel a whole lot better about myself.

So...now that I'm on my way to finding my ideal happy weight, I figure I'll share the ride.
I know I don't have much to lose weight wise...but I'm a whole lot happier with myself. And thats the part I don't want to lose! So I'm here. With enthusiasm!!!! :)

You know...you are right. When I lost my first couple of pounds...I swear I could see the difference in the mirror. Maybe it was just the smile that made me look better. Who knows...but its a wonderful feeling. I hope its contagious!!!

Good Morning...

Another good day of eating.
Morning - Oatmeal with banana and frozen blueberries 400
Snack - one hard boiled egg 100
Lunch - one meat patty w/two clementines 350
Snack - one egg and one piece of cheese 250
Supper - two portions of salmon and garden salad 500

Im guestimating the calories...I know im close...Im losin slowly :)

No exercise yesterday...too much snow to shovel. 12 hour work day. Too friggin tired.

Quiet day today ... and quiet nite tonite hopefully :)

Gonna weigh in Monday. hopin for a 197 but will settle for a 199.9999999 lol

Hard-boiled-egg-snack...now why doesn't someone stick that in a tin and sell it at service stations?!! Actually, when I was living in Fiji, at bus stations there used to be someone sitting there selling hard boiled eggs - it was great, you'd stop for the bathroom and an egg or two then hop back on for the next 4 hours of your journey.

Ok...so you are aiming for a 199-197 weigh in...you have a 3-4lb head start on me but I'm gonna catch you up!
 
Hey, thanks for the props and nice comments. It seems like you and I are in the same spot... those last yo-yo 20-30lbs. I'm not sure what my ideal weight is, but I know that when I get within 2-3 lbs of 150 I feel great. I want to be there again!!! Maybe even 140.. whew, I can't even imagine that.

Good Morning.

Yesterday wasn't a bad day...but not so great either.

Food:
Breakfast - Oatmeal with blueberries - 300 <no freekin bananas in the house> :(
Snack - two clementines - 80
Lunch - One meat patty with two scrambled eggs - 400
Snack - two pieces of broiled bacon - 300
Supper - 3/4 cup of rice, one chicken breast, steamed cauliflower - 600
Snack - 1+ oz cheese 150

I worked days yesyerday, 12 hour shift. Up at 4:30am and little sleep nite before. So I wasn't going to do much when I got home at 5:30 pm.
But we got a shitload of snow, and between shovelling and plowing, I got a second wind. So I went out to my son's hockey practice and was on the ice for 1-1/2 hours running drills and having some fun with the kids. Pretty tuckered out when I got home. So I think I burned enuff calories there to keep me in check for the day.

I gotta keep up with the water intake tho. Not enuff I realized.

Today will be a similar day work and sleep wise. Im beat. But tonite is gonna rock! Sebastian Bach (ex Skid Row member) is playin at a near Casino...Should be a good concert!

Going to be extra careful today with calories...weighing in tomorrow.

Jjjay...I love eggs...scrambled is my def fave. But hard boiled are a quik snack. I keep a dozen in the fridge and they last me the week +.
I don't care for the smell or the feedback (burps) but they really do take the edge off of hunger for me.

Looking forward to watchin ya blow by me with the weight loss. Sometimes a different view is a good thing ;)

You could try weighing yourself in kilograms. Then the difference between 199 and 201 would be meaningless. :)

Thanks for the idea. You know...being canadian, I should be using metric (or SI units as they were called) but having weighed myself in pounds all my ife, I can picture my weight at any age. In Kilograms, i wouldnt be able to do that without conversion

Maybe when I find my ideal weight..I'll switch to Kilos....cause then thats where I'll only want to think of myself to be.

Today was a good day overall.

I weighed myself just to make sure the scale didnt lie yesterday. I was up .2 lbs. Happy!!

So of course that motivated me to my routine breakfast of oatmeal, banana and berries...

But then, things went for a shit... Not my eating...

I found a mole on my back that I never saw before. Wife didnt recall one being there and cautiously advised that it looked a lil weird. So anyways, I am a little nervous. Go see the doctor on Tuesday next week...see what he says.

I still managed to go to the gym, and do a good sweaty workout while trying to think its nothing. It felt good when I was done. No more 'almost dead feeling'.

I didnt have lunch...cause I am working nites, my lunch is actually my supper.

Supper consisted of steamed mixed veggies and a nice piece of salmon, pan fried. A few extra calories no doubt but delicious.

Ill make up for it at work tonite...some tuna, salad...lots of fruit. And a couple of litres of water.

This weekend was a disaster.

Out of town hockey tournament.

Restaurant food
Worst caesar salad with chicken breast of my life!
Pizza - yup...overdid it
McDonalds breakfast - way too many calories
A bunch of other crap :(

Along with everything was a fair amount of alcohol.

No workouts even tho I brought my gym stuff. I had good intentions but it didnt amount to anything :/

But today is Monday...new day!

Get to refocus on me and get a handle on my eating again.

Breakfast - Oatmeal ala Flumes
later Snack - 2 Mandarins piece of cheese
Lunch - Diced turkey breast in chicken broth and salad
Snack - Apple
Dinner - No Idea....but its gonna be under 500 calories.
Snack - Lets see how dinner goes :)

No weigh in until Friday

That gives me 4 days to make a correction.

Gotta make this past weekend a memory and not part of my future.

Awwwwww. Thanks sooo much W2L. I am thrilled you took the time to stop by! And am very very happy were on the wagon again!

Im still under 198.... hit 195.5 but fluctuating up to 198 and 196. Pisses me off....bu I'm determeined.

I have until March 20th to look fabulous. lol Cant wait to take my shirt off on the beach in Cuba.

I hope to hit 190 but I'll be happy with a lil more toned 195.

I'm noticing a difference with my stamina at the gym.

The treadmill would wear me out after 10 minutes...walking. Now I do 30 minutes and I just start breaking a sweat. Still not running. Im almost 50 yrs old ffs....i got to take it sloww!!!

Im going to try short running/walking pace once I get my speed up a little more. Then I'll be jacked!!!

Food has been pretty good with odd breakdowns.

I've had half a chocolate bar, extra helping of rice, some lasagna...deep fried chicken fingers lol. Not all in one sitting but over the course of the week, it adds up.

On the positive side, I've been hitting the gym more often going every day for three days and taking one off and doing two days.
I figure this will burn an extra couple hundred callories each visit so it might help curb the gains Ive been having.

Water is def the key for me. I monitor the colour to make sure Im drinking enough. Gross but its true.

Lastly...Im on a mango kik. I lucked out a couple of days ago and got some over ripened mangos at the market....huge bag for a dollar. Ive been eating one a day and they are sooo fukkin good! Omg...juicy...slightly sour...I could eat another right now :)

No idea on the calories...I dont even want to look lol

ANayways, I just wanted to bump my diary up to the top of the charts and show everyone Im still a loser!!
