Flubber B Gone.....

Tuesday, June 30

Busy morning!!! Up and out to get the hoodlums to Theature Camp in the next town by 9am. Stopped at the store and then back home. I was feeling behind and almost considered not starting the P90X today. But, then I thought, this is exactly how I put the weight ON, by putting exercise OFF. So I popped in the video and got to it. It was the first of the series, chest and back. Lots of pull ups, lots of push ups and some hand weights. It was great. Funny, I don't have a doorway that is close to my tv, so for each pullup session I had to watch to see what I was supposed to be doing, then run to the other room and do them and run back...lol A little running never hurt anyone, right!

Haven't had time to eat yet, I'm off to the shower and then will be making salads for my husband and I. Then some paper work, a few more errands and pick the kiddos up at 3pm, quick dinner, off to taekwando (we will NOT miss tonight!) Can't imagine doing more pushups right now, which we will be doing in class, but I'll do it.

I think tomorrow's P90X is the Ab one, thats where I need the most work. I can't wait!!!:coolgleamA:

Dinner: bowl of homemade veggie soup
Snack: 3 Wassa crackers w/ guacamoli (sp) and salsa

Up and out by 9, didn't get to breakfast again. Down to a 2 cups of coffee vs the whole pot.

Got home and started the P90X. I don't know if I was supposed to do the little ab workout yesterday, it was after the chest and arms one and only 11 minutes I think. So I did it and then popped in the Plyometrics dvd. It kicked BUTT! :willy_nilly: I did feel a little sickish toward the end, but this happens to me sometimes when I exercise.

Had a soy/whey drink after.

Lunch: 2 veggie burgers under my salad (romaine/spinach, yellow peppers, tomato, pickles, ketchup/mustard/steak sauce dribbled on top, not a lot, but enough to make it like a hamburg delux!! yummy:)

I'm feeling extremely droopy, like low blood sugar, so I had 2 squares of a chocolate bar. Hate this feeling!:(

I have a few errands to run, then off to get the kiddos. No taekwondo tonight, the break will be nice.

Can't seem to kick the tired and droopies. I had a banana and a pear....blah

Dinner: 2 pieces of pizza w/ salad on top of it.

Snack: bowl of Fibre One shredded wheat w/ rice milk

Taking the kiddos to the next town is kicking my bootie! I'm still feeling a little droopy. My diet has been horrible! I hurt my neck yesterday during my workout, nothing serious, just stiff. I think I'm going to take this morning off from exercising. I do have taekwondo sparing night tonight which is always really strenuous.

I think I'll make myself a decent breakfast and a swamp juice. Maybe this not eating right is what's catching up w/ me.:(

Breakfast: scrambled egg/spinach/smoked cheese and tomato.

Lunch: homemade soup

Dinner: veggie burger, stewed tomatoes w/ a small scoop of organic mac n cheese on top.

I literally dragged myself to taekwondo, I didn't want to go. I'm so glad I did, it was a great class. I actually won a point sparing round and didn't look to shabby on my other rounds. I was drenched after class...yuck! I feel invigorated. I'll stop whining now, I think I'm out of my slump.:)

Yesterday was a bad eating day, a fun day, but well...........

My kiddos had finished theatre camp had their play. We took my mom and gram to go watch it too. After, they wanted to go to the chinese buffet to celebrate. I think there is no real way to behave there, for me anyway. I went with it and pigged out royally. Later, we took them to the drive-in and had way to many munchies there too.:lurk5: I was amazed that I didn't gain any weight when I stepped on the scale today.

After all I ate, somehow I woke up starving. I had a bowl of shredded wheat. I know better than this, I canNOT have carbie anything for breakfast w/o a protien or it sends my blood sugar wacky and it did. Finally had some real food at about 3 o'clock. I made some quinoa w/ veggies from our garden (broccoli/cauliflower/swiss chard w/ garlic and hot pepper flakes).

Everybody had things to do tonight but me. My dh plays in a band and will be gone and my kiddos are spending the weekend at my mom's. I hate being alone and am bummed. I've been working outside weeding and trimming bushes for a couple hours and just came in and at a candy bar...OYE! I have to get off this very bad roller coaster and get back on track.:(

Mmmm, chinese buffet. I haven't been to one in ages, and I know if I did I would just have to say "to hell with it" for that day's eating.

The quinoa and veggies sounds great. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the quinoa after I cook it.

Boredom+loneliness=bad eating. Yes, I understand that. It is something I have to fight, too.

You'll get back on track. Every day is a new day.

Quinoa is pretty new to me too. I think it can be used interchangably w/ rice. I've made a mixture of brown rice, quinoa and bulgar w/ a veggie bullion cube and some mushrooms, it was kind of like rice pilaff (sp..lol) tastey!

I've read too, that it can be used like cream of wheat for breakfast. I'm going to try that next. It's pretty high in protien, so maybe it will keep the shakies away.

I have eaten it for breakfast, too, in place of my regular steelcut oats. Worked fine, but I prefer the oats for breakfast.

Treating quinoa like rice - that's good advice. Thanks!

I haven't kept up w/ my journal...sorry. Things have been really busy.

I have, however, been doing really great keeping up w/ my p90x workouts, my total gym workouts and haven't missed a taekwondo workout. I've been eating reasonably and heres the good news....

I'm down to 136!!!!! Something must be working here:)

The couple of pounds I thought I lost, I found them. Not journaling is not doing me any favors. Starting Monday morning, I'm back to tracking what I'm doing. I haven't gained a lot, just back at the standard plateau weight my body reverts too easily.

Another thing that's a little bit difficult, the kids are home. I'm cooking for them all the time. When they are in school, it's just my husband and I and we eat salads. This is just a will power thing I have to deal with.

I WILL get back in my groove, I was doing so well!

July 13 Hauled butt back on the wagon...lol

I got up and did the P90X Kempo workout. It was a nice one. I learned a few moves that they don't do in the style I take, so very cool. I had a protien shake afterward and drank it in my porch lounge chair and pretended I was on a mini vacation for 15 minutes. Nice way to start the day!

Lunch was a big salad w/ kale, baby zucchini, yellow squash and cucumbers from the garden. I had some avocado and a broccoli (also from the garden) & poppyseed side salad. Very filling and yummy.

I have sick kiddos at home so I'm going to make a big homemade clear veggie soup for dinner. I have taekwondo tonight and can't wait to go. I have a ton of energy today.

OH! another great update...... Those pounds I thought that found me, NOPE they are gone again. hmmmm mystery pounds. *shrug* I'm back to 136.

change of plans: I got the sugar low heebie jeebies and had a rice cake w/ peanut butter and 3 chocolate almond bar squares.

Dinner change too: veggie burger salsbury steak over rice w/ veggies in it.

I had a great workout @ tkd last night.

Today, I did the P90X back and legs dvd. I was able to keep up fine. I followed it w/ a yogurt/banana/blueberry/strawberry/flax seed/protien powder & my liquid vitamins smoothie. Delish. Definitely higher calarie than what I usually have, but I was making the smoothie part w/o the protien powder & vitamins for the kids anyway, so I had some too.

Lunch will be a big salad.

Dinner: stir fried rice w/ veggies, summer squash from the garden and a salmon pattie (fish or seafood very occasionally and would be beaten serverly by real vegetarians, but I'm a work in progress)...Jeesh, no guilt there, right?...lol

Taekwondo will really intense I was a sweaty-droopy mess when I left.

I think 2 intense workouts in one day might be a little much for me. I felt so bad in the evening sitting w/ my husband. He was in a great mood and funny, but I was just too drained to laugh at all his goofy jokes. I fell asleep really early on the couch. bummer:(

My body still feels tired and a little sore. I woke up thinking I am NOT working out today. I had a bowl of shredded wheat and am working on my coffee. Oddly, I'm starting to feel better and am thinking of hopping on the total gym. I haven't been on that in awhile. Maybe just a tiny workout.

Lunch will be a big salad

Dinner...yet to be determined. Late night for my husband and the kids usually like soup night on Wednesday. I still have a sickie that I'm worrying about.....

What actually happened w/ the day...lol The best laid plans..........

Never did get that total gym workout in, but I'm ok w/ that, I was still pretty zapped w/ the abuse I put my body through the day before....in a good way...lol

Had to take my kiddo to the drs....strep! ACK

Soup for dinner, the boys had grilled cheese, dh and I had an amazing grilled swiss chard and smoked swiss sandwich.

We had a hard pretzel for snack.

Off to do that missed Total Gym workout and an Ab Ripper from P90X.

I'm doing some interesting research about ADHD & Autism diets (my oldest son has ADHD and we have to be very careful about what he eats). The books talk about glutens and dairy among other things causing trouble w/ these kids and a lot of people really. I may be tweeking our diets a little further. Whatever I do dietwise for one, I do for all of us....healthy is healthy right? It gets hard to arrange it all in a sensible manner when there is so many diet issues in our family. We have me, who is mostly vegetarian(therefore the rest of the family too); my son, who currently can't have anything w/ corn syrup or dyes (which aren't good for anyone anyway) and now....this new info about the glutens and dairy. It's all just thinking a little out of the box and is only foreign for a short time, but starting the journeys can still be a bit overwhelming. On the bright side, I've been looking a bit snarkyish at dairy anyway, so this might be the kick in the pants I needed to getting it out of here...cheese w/ be my toughest part.

Had big salads for lunch w/ Morningstar farms "chicken" w/ hot sauce.

For dinner I'm making cute food...lol Zucchini boats!! complete w/ sails and little olive men w/ carrot oars. I'm such a dork.

Sparing night tonight....need to find some oomphf

still @ 136...what is it about getting onto those 5#s and 0s. They are just somehow harder than the other ones.

Late night snack (bad, bad!) bowl of frosted shredded wheat w/ rice milk....shared w/ a very cute golden retriever...lol (yes, he got the last half)

Still around, but have been "on staycation" this week. That meant, not as much exercise as I should have and too much fun food. I'll be back in full swing Monday. I've got to admit, my taekwondo workouts were much harder after not keeping up at home w/ my regular exercise. I just felt blah all week.

All I can say is thank goodness life will be going back to normal soon.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I feel like a giant flubbery walrus...blah

Why, you ask, did I not think I could do my workouts on my vacation and why did I eat like a pigglet..... I have no answer *hangs head in shame*:piggy:

Aww don't be disappointed you were on holiday cut yourself some slack!
I completely binged on holiday - but told myself I could. You'll just be more determined now :)

July 27

The party is over!!! I have to say it was fun being on vacation and having some extra goodies, but I did feel like a loagie slug. I want my energy back.

I started out w/ a decent breakfast. About a half cup of scrambled eggs w/ zucchini and a half of an avocado. I'll have my coffee when I get home from dropping the kiddos off at camp. I'm also going to do one of my p90x workouts.

Core synergistics = Done:willy_nilly:

We've had nothing but rain all week so putting up the tent in the yard was a waste of time & my effort. We finally had a dry moment this morning so I took it down and stuffed it back into it's little duffle bag. That in itself should count as areobic exercise!!!!!!:svengo:

Off to make lunch...back on salads...thank goodness!

Holy mackeral, I'm feeling totally drained...wonder what's up w/ that???????

Goofy tummy today, just had a bowl of soup for dinner.

Went to taekwondo had an ok workout. Mentally, just wasn't there, don't know why. Had a bowl of shredded wheat and crashed early.

No morning workout (bummer!) had to take my dog to the vet....btw: he's ok:hurray:

Just had coffee on the run.

Salad for lunch...maybe I'll jazz it up w/ a morning star farms "chik" patty n hot sauce.

The garden is exploding so I'll be on a zucchini cooking fest today. Zucchini "lasagna" (zucchini's as noodles, alternated w/ sauce, mozz cheese, fresh basil and tvp...no, tvp is not weird, it takes on the flavor of whatever you add it too...lol) Also might make a zucchini chilli, much the same as above, but w/ chili flavors and no mozz.

Feeling better today, hopefully I can do a little better tonight at class.:blush5:

I was talking w/ my husband over lunch. We just couldn't believe how getting off track for one week could make us feel so terrible. We felt just like we used to, when we didn't realize how bad we were feeling. That lazy, bloated, tired and just generally run down feeling. He even said he felt like his blood pressure was through the roof again and he's been doing so well in that department. I guess it's a lesson learned. We won't be taking vacations from good health anymore, that's just silly.

Stuffed zucchini - it's what's on the menu for dinner tonight at my place. I've been craving it for a week now. :)

Hi Kara!

What do you stuff your zucchini with? I'm always looking for new ways to make it. It's feast or famine w/ zucchinis when you have a garden....lol
