cheap half inch thick rubber matting will do the trick!

if you want a lifting platform for cleans and deadlifts (you are planning on letting the heavy barbell drop to the floor) then get 4 equally size tires, lay them down 2x2 and cover it with an inch thick sheet of plywood then an inch thick sheet of rubber matting and BAM!...lifting platform.

where can i find those rubber matting.. cause i check rona or home depot they have rubber mat but they got holes in them which i do not want... i want a solid flat rubber mat would do good

i got mine from fitness depot. Yes they are really good, no complaints (well one I'll mention later, lol). They're solid, sturdy, and can support any weight. Not sure about dropping weights. Anyway, I got them from fitness depot, hopefully there's one near you since they are a canadian branch. But if there's not, ask around a local equipment store and you might find something. One thing is they are not extremely cheap, at least from fitness depot. I think it's a 4x6 mat that cost $50 each! Other bad thing is they smell like tires (they are made from old tires) for the first 2-3 weeks.
