First stop: Spartan Turkey

Avoiding injury sounds like a good idea. Speaking of which: how's your hand doing these days? Maybe you can work in some alternative exercise (like walking) on recovery days?

Friday night was pretty much a disaster. Not surprising, not going to beat myself up.

Saturday was barely within spec. Three cheers for building in a buffer. I did row for 20 minutes, but it was one of the lamer rows in my portfolio. Took the kids to a UConn football game, they enjoyed the bleachers more than the game, but they did have fun. My daughter was captured by the band at halftime, too, so that was cool.

Sunday was a planned off day, but I sure went off. It was cold and rainy all day, and we just loafed around, and I was feeling super snacky. Sigh... At least I put in a hella good row before lunch. Changed it up by doing some intervals that alternated legs.

But I was only up a pound from Friday morning, so my Thursday weigh-in has promise.

Hand is good, thank you for asking! My index and ring finger are at their final configuration, they have been for a while. Ring just has a scar and a slightly off nail. Index is fused at the first joint with more off nail (and a mini nail that gets trimmed with sandpaper). Middle finger is a stubborn mess (1.5 years later) - the nail is less-than-beautiful, and there a chunk of bone on the tip that isn't knitting to the rest. Doesn't hurt, it's just kind of unsettling. My doc says it is slowly knitting, and he can perform the surgery, but it's not necessary.

Looks a LOT better, shame about the nail but even that might yet get a bit better.
Hard to say, I really don't know what the nail is trying to be, but like I said, it doesn't hurt, just weird to clip.

Yesterday was a win, standard work week breakfast (yogurt and coffee) and lunch (minestrone from a can). Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs and cauliflower, but I was still under goal. Great rowing session - high power in 2 15 minute sessions.

I always try to find a movie or TV series to row to that's got a lot of action and not too much thinking. I thought I found something because it had Jason Statham - that's supposed to mean punch, shoot, drive fast, say something dumb, and return to punch. But this one is a lot of dialog and an attempt to seem like a smart movie. I found myself yelling at the movie "Will you just blow something up already?!" I know, first world problems.

I hear ya LJ My taste in movies is kinda like that. I want funny or action or both. I have never seen Shindlers list. I know I should watch it and I know it is a great important story but I am never in the mood to subject myself to all the angst.

Don't get me wrong, I do like serious movies. Netflix told me I'd like some Daniel Craig WW2 movie because ACTION. First 20 minutes were refugees hiding in the Eastern European woods from Nazis. A little too much gravity for workouts.

Kung Fury, on the other hand, there's a perfectly stupid movie! Seriously, it's 30 minutes of 80s movies spoof as interpreted by a Swede.

I lifted last night, and ate reasonably well. We ran out of coffee this morning so I did drive-through while hungry. And I only got coffee - that's a badge, right?

Weighed the same this morning as Monday, which was kind of annoying, but I also didn't do my usual morning bidness.

Definitely worth a badge, well done. No-business maintenance is a real-life loss, so well done again.

Running out of coffee would be a full scale crisis to me. Gives me the jitters just thinking about it.
Nice work avoiding the drive thru window demons!

I'm so glad coffee isn't a thing for me. Neither of my parents drank it and I never acquired a taste for it.

But my wife and her family are addicts and very scary in the mornings without it.

My dad had what he called a navy breakfast every morning.
It was a Marlboro red and a cup of black coffee
At least I only got one of those addictions

I used to smoke, brawny, until my apartment neighbor told me he had lung cancer. It was the first time I'd seen him in a few months, and his skin was gray and hanging off his bones like a sheet. So I quit within 2 weeks (New Years Eve was the final hurrah). I've had a couple drags since then, and I don't miss it.

Anyway, down .2 lb from last week. The right direction, I know, but I'm above my goal this week, which has me annoyed, especially since I've been good since Monday.
