Just stumbled upon this forum and after reading some posts I figured this would be good motivation. I'm 21 years old and a student. I started my loss at 250 lbs, when I hit that point I realized something needs to change. I'm currently 221lbs (as of this morning) and feeling great. I fully intend on reaching at least 180 and then continue on with extensive weight training. Heres my disturbing before pictures, ill get some later on of me now.

Nice man. Dont worry about aesthetics right now. But you are not hideous, so I dont know why you said that (you should check out my before photos) Welcome to this great forum BTW. I wish you the best of luck in your weight loss.

Small update, down to 216 today. Ran my first 5k this morning in a time of 28 minutes and 20 some odd seconds. Got bored later on in the day and was feeling amazing, went back to the track and ran another, best feeling run I've had in a long time, down to just over 26 and a half minutes this time. Adding a more recent picture.

I spend at least 30 minutes (aim for 45 most days) on the track, I run typically at 7 miles an hour or so, I run as much as I can, but my knees are terrible so I do walk some of it. I take Sundays off as well. I changed my diet significantly and that was the key ingredient. I don't eat real diverse meals, but if my diet stays regular as does the exercise, the pounds will shed as I've already proven to myself. Eat healthy meals, try to eliminate snacking (can be difficult at first) I keep grapes, grape tomatoes, and carrots in-stock at all times, you'd be suprised how satisfying they are after you've eliminated things like chocolate from your diet.
