Finding Myself in Me

AND- you are closing in on your 5K. That is gunna be so great to see!!

10K on calendar, maybe a turkey trot event or something. - up the ante!!

then we will do several 10K, then you will have one half, then we will go for a full Marathon for the winter of 2010, finish time in the 5th hour.

hehehe... upping the ante IS what i want to do.. no doubt

I told you I wanted to be able to do a full marathon by the time i was 50 and from this plan of attack, I will most def have completed a full marathon by the time i'm 45!!

How cool is that!?!? :)

Whoop Whoop!!

Dorie day..lol

Did another practice run...

3.6 miles in 46 min with no supplements until i returned home and then it was water, potassium, water, biotin, water, iron, water, and an electrolyte capsule (don't remember the name of)..oh yeah.. and water...LOL

No idea if good or bad, but I finished it which was important for me to do. :)

that is all ..

have a great day :)

Flattery

They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery...

Have you ever watched someone do something so perfectly that you wanted to do exactly the same way?

I'm in that stage now. I'm at the point I wish I could literally separate me from myself and settle into the other person's head just long enough to get the feel for what i want to learn and emulate.

It's frustrating to know I could perform better, but just can't wrap my head around the technique!!

Obviously, much more practice is necessary on my part to accomplish this.

I am feeling you on wanting to be in another's head to learn technique. The only problem is then you short yourself from having the "journey."

you are an amazing lady and advancing incredibly well

Sweat Daily

FF

Tonight's round of running has been brought to you by the letters B, U, R, & N.. LOL

Met with FF at a 1/3 mile track and worked on finding the right technique & style I should be using as opposed to maintaining a sustained run - although the two most def go hand in hand...

My list of things to remember:

1. Let your hips sink in
2. Mid-foot strike
3. Take longer
4. "Chicken wing" (no.. not buffalo boneless either ;) )
5. Clear out your sinuses
6. Every 4th breath - thru your nose.
7. Feel the "glide"

JUST HAVE FUN!!

Geeze...it's only Tuesday and i'm already getting wigged out.... not a huge amount.. but still!

This is a big, big thing for me! I have NEVER competed in ANY athletic event... ever! This is my first... so... cut me some slack.. haha

And speaking of "slack"...

I've sent off for a new visor - a nice Headsweats kind - plain black like this.

I'm gonna have the word SLACKER embroidered on the top - in bright green.

You know - make a statement & throw off the competition..

Hahahah,

I like the visor and the idea even more. It looks like a nice self fitted one. I wish I could wear hats without looking like a complete jackass, oh well. Keep up the good work NeonLady, get after it!

lead with the sternum- pinch your shoulders back and you can breath better

sink into your hips- it will push your stride forward

midfoot strike -
the heel lightly rolls into a midfoot strike, keeping you from fighting youself

launch forward- not upward. limit your bounce, the less you are defying
gravity, the more forward thrust you will have

WILLING TO SUFFER-

Strides

Just curious...

Is it possible for my running stride to get longer?

Or, am I going to be eternally subjected to looking like a hedgehog trying to gallop?

:)

yes your stride will get longer. But it is only as you get better at acheiving you maximum stride. Maximum stride will not increase, but ground covered under maximum stride can- ie:going downhill verses uphill.

Great outfit.
How cool is it that you are doing yoru first event tomorrow?? are you nervous? wonder if you bib number will be odd or even? hehe Will the bibs match your perfectly matching outfit? OMG OMG OMG

lol
hahahaha

Success!!

Registration & Bib # 0218...... $10.00

Running w/ FF and FINISHING my first 5K?.... Priceless :D

No. I do not have my "official" time yet
No. I don't have any pictures yet

When I do get my times and pictures... I'll throw them up here.
