Figuring % in a weight challenge

we have a group of women on a weight challenge and I am trying to find a way of making it a fair challenge by using a formula to figure out the % of weight loss for each lady. Obviously we are all different weights and are losing different amounts of lbs and body fat and no-one has blown us away with lbs lost - it is a close run.
Please help

Buy a $30 body fat analyzer. It's the only fair way to know who lost the most amount of fat.

If you go by the scale... you will get innacurate readings. Someone could lose tons of muscle (keeping the fat) and the scale would show a reduction in weight. But that is certainly not good.

Only trouble is we have been doing this for 6 weeks already and are using a scale that reads the weight and body fat?? We have also managed to get a couple of readings for MM from another scale. Is there not a way to take the start weight and end weight and same for body fat to come up with a solution??

Formula

I believe this is the formula you are looking for.

lbs. lost/starting weight = % of weight loss

i.e. My starting weight was 160. My current (or end) weight is 130, which is a total loss of 30 lbs.

30/160 = 0.1875 or 18.75% of weight loss

Then use your scale's body fat reading. The formula above is not going to work. It is just going to give you amount of weight lost... but it could be muscle or fat.

It will work if you don't care about what sort of weight is lost and need a percentage.
