Feeling Drepressed

i'm now 8 months pregnant and feeling really down it's been hard to continue my workouts due to fatique, i'm like going nuts, i've been working out for 10 years and i'm a total fitness buff before i got pregnant my body was muscular and defined after getting pregnant i sitll kept up my weight routine and cardio, but for the past 3 and a half weeks i have not been able to workout i feel so tired and heavy this has lead me to become depressed and when i'm drepressed i eat and not healty i've been eating alot of junk. I now can't see my mucsle defintion i know its there becasue when i flex them i see them.
After my baby will i be able to get my definition and muscle mass back or do i need to start over, i don't want to be like these people in the gym who workout so much but yet look like they don't.

Any input is much appreciated.

agreed. Also depression towards the final stages and after pregnancy are very common. Focus on your child and then just start working back out. Plenty of women achieve a great body after pregnancy, just be careful with the type of program you do if you are going to start soon after giving birth.

It sounds like you have done well maintaining your physical activity during your pregnancy. At 8 months you are bound to feel heavy and tired. I'm sure given your dedication you will have no problem regaining your shape after the baby is born. Try to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy. The baby will be here before you know it ;-) I have four children and still can wear the same size I wore before my first was born. It is definately possible especially with your previous history with physical fitness.

I would take your bodies advice and take it easy until the baby arrives. You will need your energy for that time.

As for your worries about getting your muscle definition back then SMILE because your body has an amazing memory. If you have worked out for some time (sounds like you have) then when you return to training your body will remember. Your muscle definition WILL come back.

I trained for about 5 years and then moved to Australia for 18 months. The whole time I was there I lay on the beach, drank beer, ate rubbish food and got generally fat.

On return to the UK I got back to my 3 cardio workouts (30 min runs) and 2 heavy weight sessions per week. Within 3 months I was (and still am) looking hot and toned!

Have hope. You're gonna be a yummy mummy!

Pregnancy takes a lot out of you. Listen to your body and rest. Your baby will be here soon, after that, take the 6 weeks to rest, recover, and let your body prepare for getting back into shape.

Pushing it too soon after having the baby won't help. Once you are fully recovered, then start back into a routine. You will have to start below the level you may be accustomed to, don't let that discourage you. You will be back into full swing before long and better than ever.

Remember, if you over do it, you will just hinder your progress. So, rest - have the baby - recover fully - then start slow and slowly work your way back up - you will be fine.
