Feeling bad yet good...

I had the worst weekend since I started watching my diet and training.

Friday Night - Drunk as a skunk. Ate half a kebab on the way home, not sure if it was before or after I walked into a rendered wall and cut what felt like half my left arm off.

Saturday - Getting over the night before, I indulged in a ham and pineapple pizza. Soon as I finished really felt like chucking my guts back up.

Sunday - Had a traditional English roast with my partners folks. Roast beef, roast potatoes, steamed veg, yorkshire pudding (white flour based things!).

Monday - HUGE lasagne with my parents for their wedding anniversary. Garlic bread. WHITE garlic bread

Reason for posting this, is that 12-14 months ago this would be norm, except breakfast would have been skipped and lunch would not have been much better than these dinners.

Its now Tuesday, and I actually feel like someone has poured fast setting concrete into my guts.

Anyone else struggle these days when they eat 'rubbish' to digest it? My body is letting me know that it does not appreciate being spoilt on veg, raisins and chicken then being drowned in processed cheese :D

Just get back on track starting today and don't worry about the last few days.

Did just about the same thing this last week fly. It's all good.. just get back on it. For me, Its easier to stick with a plan long term if I don't feel like 'going unhealthly' once in awhile has ruined everything for me. sticking to the 6 meal a day..chicken, veges, fish..etc ...etc.. works good for me about 2-3 weeks. About that time I want some beer and some heavy foods, like pizza, pasta or whatever... But, I try to make it only one meal that day and the rest of the day cut back. I try and plan for that explosion and if I can, I try and get a good walk in before bed that night.

That was the first time since (a heavy!) Christmas that anything 'detrimental' to my diet has passed my lips.

The way I felt so bloated on yesterday morning and this morning I don't think I'll be hitting the junk food again for a while. I know what your saying though Jungle, I still kept the rest of my normal diet going, just slipped in those cheeky 'foods'.

I have to have one beer every other Friday though. Just to keep me sane...

Saying that, one beer is about all it takes these days :D

Damn Fly, that sure was a heavy weekend, huh? I too over-indulged on Saturday night and had a monstrous hangover on Sunday. Managed to eat all my meals despite feeling sick most of the day and drank my usual quota of water. Stomach felt a little strained on Monday too but, like everyone says, don't dwell on it - just suck it up and get back to your programme.

We're only human and these things do happen. Best thing for me was it reminded me why I don't do that on a regular basis anymore :D
