Feel like a failure

I feel like such a failure right now. Totally binged on lunch.

Sourdough bread with lots of peanut butter 300 cal
1 packet oatmeal with soy milk 200 cal
1 cup special k cereal 110 cal
1 bowl lucky charms 150 cal
1 chocolate lava cake 400 cal

I just can't control myself.
 
Then you just move on. We all go overboard sometimes. Let it go and keep moving forward. Look at the good you have done so far.
 
I think I know what my problem is. I eat when I'm bored. And I was really bored today. I tie too much emotion with food. Now I feel so guilty for eating that much. I will skip dinner tonight to make up for it.. But u are right, just have to move on. :(
 
We all do that. The key is to recognize it and try to break the cycle with replacing eating when bored with something else.
 
I know EXACTLY how you feel. This happens to me sometimes.... the key is don't let it ruin your entire day!

Don't look at McDonalds later and say "oh well might as well have a cheeseburger to go with all this"

Pick yourself up, push hard at your workout today and if it was me I wouldn't skip dinner. All that's going to do is make you starving and put you at risk for binge eating.

Instead have a nice salad with some grilled chicken or something like that.

You'll be alright, trust me we all do it!
 
I highly suggest picking up a copy of Intuitive Eating. It's cheap and will help you lots, I think.

OMG! That's exactly why I ate the chocolate lava cake! I thought to myself, " well, since I already ate this much, might as well have cake, it's ruined anyways". Yeah, I'm even being too lazy to work out right now. Just having a bad day.
 
I'm also a bored eater, so these days I'm all about distraction. I even write a list of things I can do to distract myself and I keep it on the fridge to remind me.
Don't freak out, just go for a walk and write a plan on what you're going to do tomorrow.

That is a great idea ;). Next time I feel like eating out of boredom and not hunger, I will write about alternatives instead.
 
Akani1- trust me do a workout today! It will lift your spirits and make you feel so much better!

When I get in a funk I always ask myself..... at the end of the day will I feel better after NOT working out?
The answer is always no. I will not feel better!
The workout with get your blood pumping and get your endorphines up :)

You can do it!!!!! :)
 
Thanks for the motivation jenniferag!! I just convinced my fiancé to go jogging with me around the neighborhood tonight when he gets back from work! The usual route we take is 5 miles with hills. That will burn off that cake! lol
