FatPanda doesn't want to be a SadPanda

Hey Panda!

Don't sweat the bad day over the weekend. This is a lifestyle change and there is no way that you can go on forever without over-eating a little. As long as you recognize you over-ate and do better the next day, you're good to go.

I cannot believe you go shopping every 3 days. I eat quite a bit of fruit (err well for me lol) and I go shopping every 2 weeks. If I went every 3 days, I would spend sooooooo much money. You go in for one thing and then end up getting 5 other things lol

Awesome job the diet today :) AND getting some exercise in.

What kind of cereal are you eating?

Keep it up! :)

I used to go shopping every 3 days too so I could get fresh fruit and veggies. That was about how long they'd last in my fridge until I started buying those green bags. Now everything lasts at least two weeks :)

Well I missed yesterdays log once again do to car work(it's the devil I say) but I'm here to update.

So far so good on the diet, I have a diet soda every once in awhile to keep me from going insane Working at a restaurant really sucks when your dieting. All the bad food and soda readily available is a serious temptation that takes constant effort to avoid. But, if I can change my diet in this type of atmosphere then I can do it forever.

Yeah, it must be tough to work at a restaurant. I used to work at a pizza shop back in the day and that was always tough. I would bring my meal to work and try to avoid the temptation of the pizza.

Good job on your diet!

Ugh working in food while dieting or changing ur lifestyle does suck. I used to work at Arby's and I drank so much soda and ate so many curly fries and roast beef that I'm actually glad I quit. lol.

It looks like your eating is going well!! :D

Hey, there are a lot of people on here who work in the food industry too. I know ohdiamonds works at Burger King and she's been having a really tough time too. You guys should support eachother! :) i believe in you both! By the way your diet lately looks AWESOME!

Hey Adam,

I see your parents had good taste when naming you hehe. I found it funny that you mention that you worked in a pizza shop before as I used to work at Domino's Pizza. It was sooooooooo hard not to eat when I was at work. All the people there had special custom pizza stuff they knew how to make which tasted like heaven. Sometimes, I wish that I hated good tasting but bad for you foods lol.

PaperAirPlanes,

There is an Arbys right next door to my restaurant! Soda is definitively the biggest temptation at my job. It's just so readily available and easy to access, I wish there was a freaking giant lock on it.

Hey, there are a lot of people on here who work in the food industry too. I know ohdiamonds works at Burger King and she's been having a really tough time too. You guys should support eachother! i believe in you both! By the way your diet lately looks AWESOME!

hey tinysara thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the lead on ohdiamonds, I guess I need to talk with her and exchange some moral support. Thanks for the diet comment but it's totally untrue lol. I should be eating salads, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, and fruits. I'm hoping to slowly, lean towards a change over to greens for carbs, and lean meats for protein. Last diet I tried to go cold turkey on "normal" foods, I failed within a couple months, and I don't plan on failing this time!

Now, on to today. It was really nice here, er, i mean, for what time of year it is. Where I live we rarely see the sun, in any season, let alone fall, so to see the sun today really brought my spirits up.

I went on a longer walk then usual, about an hour and a half, it made me wish I lived in a warmer climate, and reminded me of how much I missed California's weather.

My rain suit also arrived! I was stoked to find out the size I ordered actually fit my large rotund ass. Being a large fellow I am always fearful when ordering from the internet but it seemed I guessed right this time. I'll be riding my bike to work now starting Monday so to begin my plunge into cardiovascular exercise.

After reading a couple more journals I really want to start a couch to 5k program. I figure no better way then to supplement then to ride to work until I'm around 270. That should help get my heart used to the load of cardio without destroying my joints at 300lbs.

As for my diet today

Day 10

Breakfast
small bowl of kix 260 calorieas
1 banana 70 calories

Lunch
2 pieces of wheat 220 calories
1 oz colby cheddar 70 calories
2 pieces of bologna 180 calories
1 orange 60 calories

Dinner
12 inch turkey and ham 580 calories
1oz cheese 100 calories

Total 1570 calories

What exactly is a rain suit? And I ask because I've read you talking about it before and the only image that's stuck in my head is you riding on a bike with a wet suit on, complete with flippers....amusing but the flippers would be impractical :D Yet a simple rain coat seems like you'd still get wet....Oh! How about an umbrella hat!? :D

Oooh, Kix, I haven't had those since I was young-er.

I see everyone talking about the couch to 5k thing, I'm gonna have to search that and see what it's all about.

And soda should be locked up! (cept for cherry pepsi n dr.pepper...hehe), I think the only time I was more than content to give it up was when I was on a migraine medicine that was disinctly knwn for making soda taste like shit. (n it did, think water down wanna be soda) Ever since then, even after the meds, I haven't really cared for it. But alas, I have my weak moments.

Good job on the eating, you don't needa be eating veggies and everything all the time per say...but adding more of them in helps. :)

Hahaha that image seriously made me almost spit out milk all over my monitor. It's just a 2 piece jacket pants combination that are 100% waterproof and made for motorcycling. Instead of a diver think of giant disgruntled bumble bee because that's more like it.

Today I weighed in for the November challenge and I lost 3 pounds. I am kind of disappointed, I really wanted to lose 5lbs. Oh well, that just means I'm going to have to bust ass this next week. Hopefully with the riding to work, and continuation of my nightly walks, I should drop another 3 pounds.

Good morning, Adam! :)

I have to agree with others. It is SO hard to watch what you're eating when you're working in the food industry. But hey, you're doing it right now so major kudos to you. I worked at In-n-Out for 3 years and that's when I put on A LOT of my weight. Your diet looks pretty good to me and you're still getting some exercise in. Temptation is probably the biggest obstacle for me in this journey and I'm sure others would agree.

Why'd you move out of California?! Where do you live now?

I think you should try Couch to 5K program. I've heard A LOT of good things about it. Might as well give it a try.

Congrats on losing the 3lbs! That's 3lbs you won't have to see again. No being negative. So what if you didn't lose 5lbs? You'll do it next week. I'm positive with watching your diet and getting in exercise, you will easily drop another 3lbs :)

Keep up the awesome job, Adam! Have a good weekend :)

Awsome job on the weight loss. Glad you got your rainsuit. I am actually close enough to ride to work (1.8 mles) but I started driving my kids to school last spring and hate to give that up. That lets my wife and youngest stay in, in the morning and saves a little on gas. Funny how our weights are going along almost exactly. I want to do really good this week b/c I have an appointment with my Dr. next Thursday. I was 323 on his scale last time so I'll be anxious to see what it reads this time, plus I am hoping my bp and cholesterol are both down. I'd love to get off meds (for both).Well, I think I'm turning in, how exciting, 10:00 on at Saturday night. I'm getting old.

Jes,(I hope that's how you spell it lol)

Man, if you didn't bring such a positive message to my journal, be from my favorite city, and have beautiful eyes I would totally ban you from posting here again!

You mentioned the BLACKLISTED WORD!.

See, when you used to live in California, and move away, Inn n Out weighs on you like a drug addiction. Just hearing the word makes me want to get on my ninja and cruise down to Cali.....ooo....animal style (damnit I'm drooling now)

So, in the future, please never mention Gods food in my journal :p

I moved out of Cali when I was young, parents forced me basically and now I live in tree hugging Oregon. To be honest, it's actually not to bad, considering how much I rag on it. The biggest thing about it for me is the weather. It has more cloudy days per year then any other state(not a fact, I haven't looked it up but I wouldn't be surprised if that's true). I don't know about you, but I get depressed without seeing the sun for so long oh well...

And thanks for the support, it's really appreciated from someone with your drive and attitude.

hey buddy glad to see your stressful week is over. Saving gas lately has been one of my biggest motivators to riding my bike to work, of course, I don't have any children so that doesn't play a factor. That's real exciting to go to the doctor knowing he's going to be giving you positive news! My uncle was on medicine for high blood pressure and cholesterol and after he dropped some weight he went off them and hasn't looked back. I'm sure with the way your going at it you'll have no problem getting off those damn pills. Oh and your not that old man, but you might be getting forgetful as today is Friday on my side of the world lol, well, now technically it's Saturday morning but you know what I mean.

As for today, I rode my bro-in-laws scooter(yes, I know what your thinking, fat man on a little bike, it was hilarious) for him to the dmv so he could take his riding test. I have been urging him to take a motorcycle safety course he's a cheap ass so he wanted to test ride away. I was going to help him practice but he told me he was ready and had no fears. During the last part of the test, the emergency swerve, he braked while still leaned over slightly, a huge no no on a two wheel powered vehicle , and locked the front brake and crashed.

He was alright, bruised his hip, scraped a fairing, but mainly a damaged ego.
The crappy thing was I didn't expect him to fail so I planned on leaving the dmv to go to work and was not planning on riding his scooter back to his place for him so I ended up being late. Luckily for me, when your the boss, you don't get quite the flak when your late even though I still felt really bad.

Other then that, a pretty normal day. Had band practice, went to see the new bond movie(it was alright) and my friend ditched me for a date(sob) luckily I had a backup friend there or I would of been pissed.

Hey Pandaman!

This is sort of a fly by post.

Your poor brother in law, but, he shoulda studied! Maybe next time he'll get it :)

8oz glass of OJ? 110cals is correct.

well today was sort of a cheat day. I knew the fights were tonight and I was not going to resist drinking. So, I tried to have my calories tailored to less so I could drink more. Unfortunately, we were low on time and Panda Express was in the near vicinity and yeah...

Breakfast
2 eggs 140 calories
1 oz cheese 100 calories
1 bread roll 300 calories
4 oz top sirloin 186 calories

Lunch
nothing

Dinner
Panda express 1000 calories
3 coors light 306 calories

Total 2032 calories

Damn, I was hoping it wasn't that much over but oh well. Going to bust my ass my this coming week so hopefully I'll burn off those 500 extra calories on my rides to work.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Those cheats will keep us sane, just so we don't have enough of them to keep us fat...lol....I already mentioned Outback for Thursday night, then Friday I had a dbl cheeseburger from McD's ( I had been craving it for a week). Then my wife brought home a Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake and I had a piece yesterday. :cuss: I'm with you too, I love Chinese food.

Another fight fan?! What kind of bullshit was that with Couture and Lesnar? Couture is my hero in life. That was a lucky hit to the back of the head that knocked his balance off...So sad.

That uppercut in the prelims was HUGE though!!

Thanks for the support bert, it's good to know I'm not alone in my weakness haha.

The fights were awesome, that uppercut omg. I hope someone makes a gif of Ryu from streetfighter doing his uppercut to that guy haha. I was really torn on the Lesnar Randy fight. I've met Randy 4 times when I trained up at Team Quest when he used to live in Oregon and he was a really great guy, To be honest, I was going to be happy no matter who won. I do have to say that it really wasn't Randys fault that he got hit, Lesnars hand is like so freaking big. Randy ducked that punch but his hand was so huge that 2 knuckles still hit him.

Yesterday was grocery shopping day so I had to scrounge for food until I got done shopping.

Day 13

Breakfast
2 pieces of wheat and peanut butter 300 calories
1 8oz glass of oj 110 calories

Lunch
I was shopping during lunch so I missed out just had a snack
1 cashew nut bar 160 calories
1 serving of cashews 160 calories

Dinner
1 big bowl of kix 600 calories
1 piece of wheat 110 calories
.75 ounce of cheese 70 calories

Total 1510 calories

Today is the beginning of a tough week ahead of me. It's been a long time since I've ridden my bike anywhere, let alone 10 miles to work so it should be interesting to see how I do today. I'll update later tonight and let everyone know unless of course I die from riding haha.

Hi, this is my first visit to ya diary, 3lb loss is great and it looks like your food choices are improving :)

How did your bike ride go ?
